Great car! I'm in SD too and my 510 had one of the early KA24DE swaps... I pulled the motor for a rebuild but the shop has totally flaked! Now I need to have them ship it back so I can get it to Rebello, where I should've gone to begin with!

Comment? Sure, don't lean on the fenders!! Surefire way to dent the center, which almost all 510 owners know very well. Also, it is an L-20B. My old 69 510, that I paid about $175 for back in the late 80's, had a SSS L-18. My current 72 has a Nissan VG33E V-6. Cool car, see you on the road!

Well if the SCCA B Sedan TransAm Manufacturers Championships are any measure, the 2002 is actually the slow man's 510.
@@Datsun510zen it can be what ever you call it but a 510 is still a Poor man’s 2002 .
@@waterlover Sure, but explain why you make a point of saying "poor man's BMW" for not spending nearly 2X as much for a slower car? Makes no sense. The 510's track performance is legendary with numerous national championships in road racing, auto-cross, and rally. The rich man's 2002, not so much.
@@Datsun510zen no need to explain it just looks way better and everyone knows Datsun came out with the 510 to try and compete with the 2002 but the number of sales speaks for itself. Not so many 510 but the 2002 in the other hand sold way more then they anticipated and it’s what made BMW as of today. The ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE. Explain that.🤣 I have a 510 in my collection so I’m not talking crap. It I love my 2002’s more it’s why they get driven more then any of my cars.

My neighbor was the "broker" for this car....
I had this EXACT SAME CAR !!! Paid $1500 for it in 1977....They go for 20k plus now....

I had a 66 VW van..kinda beat up but had new engine.
My buddy had a "cherry" '65 w/pass thru seating.
His would be 30-40k EASY!!
he paid $1400.00
I got mine for $600.00
I'm looking to get another one to use for "retirement".

I have an extra (NOS) stainless steel hood trim that goes above the grille.. It doesn't look right without it..
That would complete the vehicles appearance.

Mikuni - Solex??? Huh…. Do you know those are two completely different set of carbs…. Either they are Mikuni or they are Solex …… duh but not both…. Duh.
Mikuni had the righs to produce solex carbs as long as the solex logo was on them

Imagine in the event of an accident what sort of damage that cage could do to your daughter.
