Chad might have some bad feelings when it comes to some of these songs considering that Pharrell was usually in the forefront, it could have been Pharrell pushing for this song and Chad may have wanted Jay on a different track , you never know what went on behind the scenes. He’s also a introvert and never been that social

Chad doesn't like doing interviews he never did. Even during the height of the Neptunes success he wasnt always there. Even with NERD he wasnt always there. Pharrell explained Chad just likes creating music. The fame the lights and all the noise that comes with it gives him extreme bad anxiety. There was a video of them performing rock star live on tv. And after the song he legit ran off stage before the host could say we'll be right back. Hes never liked this part and Pharrell took more of the Appearance and interview responsibilities. He didnt mind the camera as much. But even Pharrell struggled with interviews stating he didn't like them either at one point. I think he just handles it better.
