All, another subscriber kindly reminded me to show removing the ground cable prior to working on the vehicle. Although, I believe this is a great reminder, one never forgets to remove the vehicle ground once you arc your ratchet removing the starter power cable. I always remember my own mistakes more and sometimes you need to make mistakes to be better. Just saying. Happy wrenching and don’t be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. #stayrelentless -AJ
Best comment ever. Thank you. Hopefully, you are a subscriber and if you aren't, then pls subscribe. FYI - I am working on Project Yellow Ep 4 right now. Stay tuned.
Thanks for the kind words. Pls subscribe bc I’m seriously getting into these C56 transmissions. Project Yellow Ep 5 is coming out soon. It will show how the C56 works and a complete tear down. Thx AJ
Thanks so much for the kind words. Trying to make the best diy vids ever. Show all the details, including methods, tools, & torques and of course, provide good lighting. Pls subscribe. Thx AJ
Amazing to think people let these MR2's die because of the transmission being uncommon back then, nowadays every single VW, has this sort of transmission and its common to see one being repaired. Ill still stick to the ZF transmissions and Mercedes' tremendously built Transmissions on their more quality cars like the E-S class based chassis and larger SUV's
I wouldn’t say ppl are letting these die… I got Project Yellow from a friend who was goin to fix her, but I was pestering him for 8 months, while she was down, to sell her to me. Also, stay tuned to find out what’s really wrong w the original C56 bc we are goin to open her in a future Project Yellow episode. Thx for watching and commenting. Pls subscribe. Thx again, AJ
Love your videos. I was thinking about investing in the new quickjack, which has about 24" of ground clearance. I would imagine that to be sufficient for the transmission?
Thx for the kind words. Pls subscribe. I’ve done the MRS transmission w the quickjacks and they provide sufficient height. They work well, but make sure you buy the proper length. The ones I have are a lil long for the MRS, but I wanted to use the quickjacks on my S, Integra, EG, and MRS. Check the specs carefully. My only complaint about my quickjacks is they are a lil heavy bc of their size, but serve their purpose. Lastly, if you don’t wanna buy em, FYI - using jack stands will lift ur MRS about 24” as well. -AJ
They are a pain in da a$$ & that's why I use my method. Try it next time... you may prefer it. Pls subscribe bc Project Yellow Ep 4 is coming out soon. Thx, AJ
@@RelentlessRacingAJ I couldn't get mine off at all so ripped them off. Bought replacements then my dumbass forgot to put them on BEFORE getting the tranny fully in... I don't remember after that, but I know now to just get replacements if I need to deal with the tranny again...
