- In this video I will show you how to upgrade the motor in your gearbox to get double the speed from your childs power wheels toy car.
By upgrading the motor or gearbox in your childs power wheels toy car, you can more then double the speed. In this video I will show you how to remove the wheels from the power wheels, remove the gearbox from your childs car. How to modify your power wheels by installing a new gearbox and motor. How to measure the speed of your modified power wheels and how to increase the speed on your childs car.
I upgrade the motors on this power wheels from 12000rpm motors all the way up to 40000rpm motors. Let me know what you think to the speed difference.

The only tool really necessary to perform this upgrade was a flat head screwdriver, although a pair of pliers can make it easier, it's not 100% necessary.
The process of upgrading/replacing the motors in a power wheels childs car is very simple and should take you no more then 30 minutes.
It should be noted that when upgrading the motors or upgrading the gearbox in a power wheels childs car, this may have a negative effect on the battery life and give you a shorter run time.

Can I use these gearbox and motors you have linked to run 24v or will they over heat? Currently got Weelye rx57 I think it is upgrading to the rx30 24v and got batteries to upgrade. It’s a audi q8 and has the rs390 motors 12k rpm but want to upgrade do have some rs395 motors that will run the 24v but ideally want the 550 or 570 motor and box
I would imagine that they would suffer from heat damage yes. If you can build a cooling system for them, 1 fan blowing air into the motor area and one out, they might be ok. Please don't use the heatsinks on the motors, they don't work all the way around and only cool a patch of the motor causing issues. Also when designing your system, the standard fan on the motors draws heat down from the gearbox motor and out the terminal end. Personally I wouldn't bother upgrading the 395, not much difference over the 390, I would just go straight to 550s / 570s, you will notice the difference on the torque, which will hold the speed a lot more.
@@Stitch76 just ordered 22000 rpm 24v rs555 motor and gearbox, they didn’t have 550 or 570 off the shelf with 24v so thought I’d give the 555 a go heard they’re rare motors but heard you can replace with a 770? Apparently more common and handles the 24v much better but see how the 555s do when they arrive
@@Stitch76 will the speed control off the rx30 be enough or do you think I should also add a manual adjustment in? If I was to add that would I just add it after the control module before the motors or between battery ans control module? Thanks
Whether the 770 fits easily or not is dependent on the gearbox, do you have a link to the gearboxes?
A 770 will handle 24v easier after breaking in.
The RX30 does support a hi/low speed switch, so that should be fine for you, from memory on standard motors it's around 5mph and 8mph.
Remember to upgrade your fuse as well as the standard fuse will probably keep tripping, you may also need to use a thicker gauge wire, if you notice the wires getting warm, then replace with thicker wire.

What size fuse would you recommend to use? Will the control board be rated and go off that?

Less then 10 minute some wire burned out after upgrade 12v 16000rpm to 12 40000rpm on 4x4 wheel go ride,pls gve me some advice

@@nazrulnaz823 run a 30a but make sure your wires are thick that will allow current to flow easier.
ive pushed 20v thru stock wire & they melted together
and if your motors are new youll want to break them in, not just run them (run them at 6v for 2 hrs just to shape the brushes for maximum contact)
@@dancearoundtheworld5360 aredy changed fuse 30a and all thick wired, but then my receiver,im also used a dimmer to control voltage,but same result, burned

but the component before the burn wire should be causing it
