These finger prints serve as a poignant and almost lucid connection to the past; embedded by miners who toiled in the dimly lit mines - a powerful reminder of their indomitable fortitude and resilience! Great explore! Diolch! 🙌🏻
I can't think of anywhere else where you could see such an intimate connection to the past, incredible. I loved the tally counter still with the stick in it. You'd never catch me going into one of these mines. We've got an old lead mine near me in Spain and just sitting in the adit is as far as I'm willing to go..
Very interesting to see the diamond drill hole! must have been quite an early usage of this technology. Normally the core from these holes is stored in wooden core trays/boxes with say 5 x 5’ runs per box with depth marks on the box. I suspect that the small bits of core you found were just small bits that were discarded. I think I did read a note about drill testing of a certain lode at Cwmystwyth. Much more recently diamond drilling was used at Cwmrheidol (underground) and Frongoch (surface) in late 60’s early 70’s to test the veins, without much success!
I love this channel, can you give us more info on the geology and what the mines were producing.
Great video thanks. 8:04 - did you see the gloves on the rubble?
Nice catch! 👍
Amazing. Thanks for taking us along
Thanks for being the first crew member to join us!

Do you think the T in the TW carving has been carved to also look like a pick?

When I hear the word 'dynamite' I think of mud! Or rather, MUD.
H = Hywell maybe?
