- I've always thought Arnold Schwarzenegger has been wooden in his acting, but none of his other movies even come close to the extreme amount of talent vacuum he possesses in this movie. I had a really hard time understanding whether he was supposed to resemble a retard or a tree, either way he did a fine job, since it all seemed perfectly natural. For him, that is. The character Hercules is anyway the most testosterone-filled man caught on camera. This guy has a constant urge of ripping off his shirt everytime he either has to do something or everytime he's bored. He even has the great ability of killing actors dressed as bears by lifting them up in the air and throwing them around, destroying cabs because he's angry and impressing ladies by ripping off his shirt in front of them. Now that's at least three dimensions! In one character! Kudos to the excellent scriptwriters who managed to write this amazing piece of art during their part-time job at Dairy Queen! Long live the underdog!

Christ, i remember thinking Arnold was jacked when he did the first Terminator film. He's significantly more massive here.
I believe this was his very first movie if I recall? So he was still competing in later movies he stopped competing and Hollywood wanted him to size down about 20-30 pounds

The best part of the scene is when the one guy throws his javelin looks like it's going to rain it's ass off in the background but then when Arnold throws it's mostly cleared was hardly any clouds LMFAO!!!!!!

I like this film. Arnold was in the best shape in any film he ever did. He was dubbed in the original release, but the DVD has a audio track in his voice.

I think that movie was nominated for 5 academy awards and won two. It launched the career of the guy who played the coach.

When you compare this to his end scene with John Connor in Terminator 2, he came a very long away. He was never a good actor but with the right emotion, character and story, he learned to do a decent scene.

First time i read the description in a video in a long time.... that gave me a massive laugh.
I remember watching this crap when VHS video recorders first came out (titles and availability of movies was limited in the early days of VHS ) just goes to show even Hollywood A listers start at the bottom ...incredible life story of Arnolds determination and work ethic in all he did to go on and achieve so much in his career.
And then, with the sound of bouzouki still playing in the background, they all went to drink ouzo and eat fish!!
