Seeing Serendipity in your thumbnail, I had to immediately click and watch, it's a wonderful sculpture! I had one or two of the books when I was a kiddo, so the nostalgia hit me so hard.
So cute! You got her just right! This unlocked a memory for me; I used to go around singing the Serendipity song from the animated movie. I sang it so often my mom refused to buy me any more of the books! Lol Thanks for the video!
Omg I watched the movie based on those books when I was I child and I haven’t EVER seen anyone else talk about it!!!! 😭😭😭 The memories!!!!!!! Thank you!!!
The fact you even know about the Serendipity books made me so happy! I have all of them, my parents used to read them to me every night before bed and as I grew I read them myself and used them to help me learn to draw. So they have a very important place in my heart. Seeing this just brought back all those wonderful memories and you made her look amazing!
You are so talented! The glitter really put this over the top. I’m 26 and I remember in elementary school finding the buttermilk serendipity book - I remember very little about it I just remember thinking the illustrations were incredibly beautiful.
She's perfeeeeccctttt!!! Omg you captured her SO WELL!!! There used to be this magical store in the mountains where I lived and it was like stepping into a magical tree fairy home, and they always sold the Serendipity books. There was a massive fire years ago in the village and they had to completely rebuild, it was so sad, but these books never fail to bring back the magic of the original building!
@@fairiesandfancies it wassssss! The owner has a new store built now, my best friend and I went and visited and had a wonderful chat with her and she kept some of the melted beads of colored glass and broken tiles from the old shop on a glass display counter. I told her how her store had always been my favorite growing up, it made her happy!
WOOOOAAAHH this was a little hidden mind worm you pulled right out my skull. I forgot about these books! The finished statue is stunning. I’ve subscribed- your work is too charming not to
Haha, you saying dinosaur made me think of the old animated Serendipity movie. Where in the opening song, they call her a pink dinosaur. This turned out incredibly amazing. So smooth and the paint job.. just aaaaaaaaa. She's perfect.
@@fairiesandfancies I think it's by the same company that made Sampson and Sally. Which is an incredibly dark cartoon. Def left an impression on young me. haha
I really enjoy seeing your projects. You've got an incredible skill, and despite never really working with clay myself, every time I see one of your vids I swear I get that much closer to giving it a shot.
She looks outstanding! I loved those books so much as a kid and she's perfect. You're making me want an airbrush pretty bad, hehe. :) With the Aves Sculpt and other epoxy putty clays I've heard from sculpting groups how it's possible to develop a sensitivity over time to the point where even the fumes are triggering you. Having a lot of ventilation, protecting your skin with gloves and absolutely avoiding breathing in the dust sound like the way to go. That said I have some as well and you've given me some more confidence to get started with it. I like this idea of using the light baked clay to bulk it out further!
I’ve never heard that before. Also aves has no detectable scent I can smell. The instructions recommend using gloves while mixing the clay as it gets very sticky. Allergies can be tricky and you never know what will trigger them sometimes. I have friends allergic to polymer clay. I think as long as you’re aware and careful you’ll be just fine.

I love how special she was to so many of us. You can find the books on eBay if you ever want to hold and read them again. ❤️❤️

She was such an important figure in our childhood ✨
This was a very satisfying watch. I loved these books as a kid too and it’s really cool to see one of the characters brought to life. Well done!
I want to do more characters from my childhood in the 80’s and 90’s ❤️

So awesome. You should do a Flutterby.
Great idea ✨
So cute!!! Loved this book series as a kid. Was thinking about doing this, but in 3D. Love it!
So glad you like it!! I hope you make your own serendipity. There’s something magical about holding her in your hands ❤️
@@fairiesandfancies You inspired me!
What a wonderful video!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
I started using ultralight to build onto armature su that I could get a smoother coverage with my final layer of regular clay
I really feel like it saves a lot of clay and helps you get a better shape.
Very cute.
Thanks ✨
You are too kind to mention me🥰. I love you so much!
