Today is Mother’s Day in Canada. One of the reasons I visit your blog (aside from the amazing bookish content) is to bask in your warm and loving mother-daughter relationship with Donna. My mother died many years ago and I wish she’d lived long enough for us to have visited more places together and to have spent more quality time together. Seeing you and your Mum interact brings me comfort and joy.
I’m so glad the video brings back memories of your own Mum! I feel so happy that my on relationship with my mum makes for happy viewing for others! ❤️💐
The way you show us your purchases after shopping, reminds me of how my daughters and I would do that after coming back from shopping. I would put the kettle on to boil, we would get all our bags situated, get cozy and have our tea and show our purchases. A great memory. Thank you 🤗
I finally own these two amazing books Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre with the illustrations by Marjolein Bastin they are stunning. Thank you. I love your videos
Oh, but I have loved this vlog, Miranda, as you visited all the places I would particularly wish to see myself. I’ll be re-watching it to my heart’s content! May I also say how glowing your Mom was looking throughout? Am now looking forward to next’s week’s follow-on video. Thank you so much.
I look forward to your vlogs each week. Yours is one I watch without fail as I always find something of interest. The books your choose, the scenery, the art, stationary, tea. The relationship between you and your mum, the clothing you wear. I can see the effort you put into your channel and I just wanted to say that is a joy to watch and my book list often has a number of the books you have recommended on it.
Delightful vlog! I loved the jazzy swing (and the Satie) music you used too. Lovely. Now that our only source for books in English, Book Depository, has closed, all that is left for me is just to enjoy other people going to bookshops in the UK! Thank you for sharing your week with us. London, cats, books, aaah, I can't ask for more. Love to you and Donna :) xx
It's so sad about Book Depository, isn't it? I am in Australia, and I have ordered from Blackwell's Books a few times. They are good, too, with free postage, but they are not quite as fast with their deliveries as Book Depository was!
Miranda, it is always such an amazing time well spend watching you and your mother's journey. You give so much life to books. I can't imagine why a book publishing company doesn't snatch you up. Thank you so very much for filming, it is great to watch from the US. Can't wait to know about your new blog. Keep up the great work you do.
I love your vlogs, Miranda! So beautiful and interesting. Your vision of the world is an absolute breath of fresh air nowadays. Thank you and greetings from Portugal
I watched the beautiful coronation from here in Alabama, USA🇺🇸🇺🇸 How amazing that we could view it at the time that it was occurring. I also enjoyed watching the coronation prom. Thank you for showing us the streets of London displaying their finest patriotic decorations. And bookshops! It doesn’t get much better than that for a visit with you and your Mum. Thank you taking time from your cat sitting (how cute he is), to take us along on your visit to London.🇬🇧. Best wishes to you and your Mum. God Save the King!!🇬🇧🇬🇧
thank you for sharing your trip with us - I so enjoy seeing videos of your lovely country, and especially when you venture to the exceptional, one of a kind bookshops! Looking forward to part 2! So happy that you and your Mum were able to be in London around the Coronation - and that the weather cooperated for you - looked lovely. Hello to your Mum too.... love when she's a part of your vlogs. Jacqueline
Everything about this Vlog was gorgeous, the music, the scenery, colours, books, shops and you and Donna. My life just suddenly got brighter and better from watching. Thank you 💕💕💐💐
Hi Miranda, Thank you for such an amazing vlog. The cats are gorgeous! You & your Mum look as though you had a wonderful time. I loved seeing the Coronation decorations & all the lovely books and souvenirs that you bought as well. Xxx😊❤ I can't wait to see the second part of your vlog. Xx
What a lovely content in your beautiful vlog! Thank you for everything you have shared! It makes me smile that you bought all the tasteful coronation themed souvenirs! I would have done the same...I have watched the coronation together with my mom -she is 82-here in Germany and this is also a kind of souvenir, that will always stay in my memory!
What a lovely vlog, I so enjoyed sharing in your London visits to museums and bookshops. A lovely selection of books in your haul. I am especially interested in 'Poor Stainless'. I thought I'd got all the Borrowers titles but I've never heard of this one. I'll have look for it online but if it's expensive I'll have to wait awhile as I've just treated myself to a beautiful photography book AND a new camera! Both for my 65th birthday at the end of this week. Simba and Leo are gorgeous cats!
Thank you very much for taking us along. London, books, impressionists and cats are some of my favourite topics. Say Hi to your lovely mum. And Happy Mother's Day!
Great bookstores, Great books, delicious looking food, like the weather is beautiful, what more could one ask for. Again very nice video, thank you very much 📚♥️🫶💐
So glad you and your mum had such a wonderful time in London. It was great to see some of my favourite areas, Marylebone and Piccadilly for the book stores and for Fortnums. The artist who designed the image on the Coronation tea you bought is @lucythomasinmorrish. She created a lot of beautiful artwork for the Coronation. And to see the lovely Lambs Conduit Street again , fortunately I now have Persephone a short walk away!
What a timely video Miranda as I am off to the ballet tomorrow. I have been wondering what I would like to do as I have some time to kill before afternoon tea at Ochre and you have given me quite a few ideas, thank you so much. It was fun to see you both enjoying your time in London. Simba and Leo are absolutely adorable - they must be such fun to sit for. Enjoy the rest of your stay, Teresa 👑🇬🇧
I loved seeing all the bookstores and then seeing what you bought! Stationery, books, all looks lovely. And the food looks delicious! Looking forward to next week's vlog.
Thank you Miranda for all your inspiration - I'm going to visit both the Berthe Morisot and the Rosetti exhibitions. Those cats are adorable by the way :-)
Thank you for taking us along on your London adventures. The combination of the video and music was delightful. (I loved the jazzy music at the beginning). The Berthe Morisot exhibition looked spectacular - she is such a favorite of mine and it must have been thrilling to see so much of her work in person. I hope you enjoy "Goodbye Mr. Chips" - it is a book I turn to in the autumn. I am lucky to have my Mom's much read edition from the 1950's which also includes "Random Harvest" and "Lost Horizon". It is one of my treasures. (all three were made into great movies in the 30's and 40's - "Random Harvest" is my # one comfort watch.) Looking forward to your next London vlog. Have a great week Miranda and Donna! 💕
Miranda, I enjoyed this vlog so much! I haven't been to London in almost 10 years & I don't know how much longer I can hold out. You went to all my favorite places except Liberty. If your friend needs a cat sitter again, please let me know & I will hop right on a plane from Las Vegas.
This was so much fun to watch. Everything I love - books, food, stationery, restaurants.... and cats! You really showed London at its finest. Beautifully shot. So lovely to see you and your Mum out and about xx
Thank you, Miranda, for taking us along on your London trip. Simba and Leo are the cutest (and their adorable paws!). And, thank you for that shot at Skoob showing the lovely vintage orange Penguins - it made my day! Everything about the video is perfect and puts a smile on my face. 💟😊
Thank you Miranda and Donna for this wonderful vlog! I loved the lovely music you chose to accompany the content and I caught myself smiling the whole time watching this lovely, happy vlog. I got so thrilled, since I'm going to visit London myself in August. I can't wait!!! Have a very happy week❤️
That’s so kind of you, Inga! Thank you so much for your fabulous support!! I really appreciate it 😊❤️ How lovely your trip is coming up soon! I’m sure you’ve got so many places on your list to see! Xxx
I love Morisot too. She is as important an Impressionist as any of her male cohorts. Her relationship with Manet is fascinating and tinged with sadness. Thank you, Miranda for another lovely vlog.
Hey, I have that edition of Goodbye, Mr. Chips! It's a lovely, light read with such a bittersweet tone. It's even more fun if you've ever been a student of Latin, which is the title character's specialty. 😊
Such a lovely vlog. I very much enjoyed visiting the shops with you and enjoyed seeing your purchases. These are the sorts of shops I love to visit. Very few here where I live in So. California. Thank you for also showing g some of the streets decorated for the Coronation. I got up AR 2 am to watch the pre-event commentary and the whole televised event. My parent were from N. Ireland so we have a great interest in these historical events. Thank you Miranda. It was lovely. It's so nice you and your mum traveled together to cat sit. ❤
Thank you Miranda for such a lovely video. I will probably never get the chance to visit England myself so to see your beautiful country through your eyes is such a joy to me!
Loved the vlog, it made my anglophile and bibliophile self so happy. The Brambly Hedge stationary was adorable. And I love Goodbye Mr Chips- I'll have to dig out my copy for a reread. Its so funny that you showed a Mary Norton book at the end , because I just finished reading her Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Looking forward to seeing you next week. 📚👍🤗💕💕
I enjoyed your London adventures so much, Miranda! The Brambly Hedge stationary is gorgeous. I didn’t read Goodbye Mr Chips, but I like film adaptation by RC Sherriff. The cats are wonderful.
Looks like you and your Mom had a lovely time! Loved seeing all the shops, book stores you visited! I love books and stationery, great seeing all of the wonderful items you found. 📚❤️
I do love seeing all the different bookshops you go to, Miranda - especially ones that I have no opportunity of visiting myself. This has been so enjoyable - and the cat is beautifully and obviously loves you!
omg I always enjoy your book shopping videos . . love visting all the lovely book stores in London . . the note cards you picked up are so beautiful what a great adventure and such cute cats 📚❤️🙋♀️🌺🌻💐🌹🦋🥰 🐈⬛
Miranda, it was fun watching your vlog about the time you & your mum spent in London during the Coronation festivities! As a result of your excellent synopsis of book purchases, I was intrigued and able to obtain the Paul Gallico "Coronation" book. It is excellent! A very charming story, which I am going to share with my friends here in the States. Thank you for all the wonderful vlogs and excellent book recommendations!
I saw an exhibition of Berthe Morisot at Musée d'Orsay in Paris a few years ago and I absolutely loved it! I am glad that you and Donna had the chance to go to the London one, her paintings are so special! 🙏❤ Thank you for sharing this moment of your London stay with us 🤗
What a lovely London trip, I was especially interested in your visit to the Berthe Morisot exhibition, must visit it next time I'm down. So glad you and your Mum had a fabulous time whilst cat sitting those gorgeous cats 😍 Looking forward to your next vlog .
The peacock reminds of an old coaching hotel in the middle of nowhere in my region that always has a few peacocks on the upper verandah! I love the old shops in London and I will hopefully visit in a few years. "Stig in te Dump"! My favourite book growing up and Henry Treece. Thank-you for the lovely tour and cats.
What a lovely opportunity to visit London. You had a captured audience in the kitchen, he was so interested in your purchases. I just flew home from London and now you’ve shown me everything I missed! I haven’t been to the UK for some years but my son drove to the Bronte Parsonage just for me.
I just love your channel so much. You put so much time and thought into creating these lovely videos. I also wanted to thank you for the beautiful Spring Commonplace Book Guide. Have a wonderful day, Miranda and Donna.
Just loved this blog. So much to say about it. You always open my eyes to new things. Or even new ways to look at ordinary things. Through your blogs my life has become richer - truly. Each blog is like a hug. Added books to my wish list, and now planning an upcoming visit to lamb’s conduit street. Haven’t been there in ages.
I’ll swap cities anytime to live in London and be on a forever fieldstrip exploring all the nooks and treasures! Canadian cities just full of box strip malls and stores closing like Nordstroms. You just make do but London oooh la La!
Hello Miranda and Donna. What a lovely visit around London. All places and shops that I would love to visit…someday. I do love impressionist paintings as you do. Please look up Growing Up With the Impressionists: The Diary of Julie Manet. I haven’t read it yet, but it looks interesting. Enjoy your remaining days in London.🌸
Wow, you have described the perfect holiday: fantastic bookshops, excellent food and beautiful art works… thank you for giving me material for my daydreams😊
So many good things in this vlog; bookshops, iconic London shops, London streets, stationery, books, food, Miranda and her Mum, AND 2 stunning cats to top it off! 😻😻 My own 2 cats are 4 years old today, 2 sisters. Loved this vlog and so glad you both are enjoying your stay. Can't wait for part 2 ❤
Hi there, a very Happy Mother's Day to your Mum. I love both of you, you are a wonderful team and love so many of the same things that bring us joy as well. I so wish I could go to England and visit many of your MANGIFICANT Bookshops, this one in particular with the balconies. I love your Kitty friend, I also sit for two of my best friends kitties as well, this one is gorges and so well behaved. You are my favorite channel on TH-cam, I every video you make and try to find many of the books you suggest. Thank you so much, have a lovely week ahead. Thank you for this exciting one and I seeing what you purchase that brings happiness to each of you. I am so HAPPY you are going to do Bookshop Vlogs, this one was amazing. Bye for now, Sharon
Someday I hope to get to London. Such a beautiful city❤️I also loved seeing it decorated for the Coronation. And oh, the bookshops🥰. Today is Mother’s Day here in the US and it was especially wonderful seeing you and your charming mom today. All the best to you both 💕
Dear Miranda, Wonderful vlog as always but I also was thrilled to find out that Mary Norton, who I thought I had all her books, had written one that I have never heard of.Thank you! I will try to track this down.🤩🤩
Loved your vlog and seeing your visit to London. I'm delighted you enjoyed your visit to the Dulwich Picture Gallery. I volunteer there but sadly wasn't working the day you were both there. Looking forward to part 2 of this London literary vlog.
All those fabulous bookshops ! How fortunate you are to be able to pop down to London for visits. Love the Coronation tins you got in Fortnums, nice momentoes.
Thank you so much for taking us along with you in London, especially at this very special time, the Coronation (which I watched here in Canada and thought it fascinating!!!). A lovely vlog, Miranda, and looking forward to part 2! ❤
@@MirandaMills Thank you very much! I try to visit as often as I can, but because of the pandemic, it's been a while. I leave tonight and arrive in London tomorrow. I can't wait!
This was so much fun Miranda 😊. That blue and white dress with matching headband was just gorgeous. Thank you for your creativity and work put into these vlogs.
Hi Miranda, it’s quite a coincidence that I read a review of A Calamity of Mannerings in today’s Sunday Times and thought I would like to buy a copy and then saw your vlog and there it was. I really enjoyed your tour of the bookshops and that exhibition looks amazing.
What perfect timing to be in London. We watched the coronation on TV also here in Arkansas USA. The coronation decorations are so pretty. Simba and Leo are beautiful! It's always so fun to see your purchases. The bookshops and exhibitions are so lovely. Thank you for sharing your updates. 😊
London bookshops are always such a treat, and you’ve shared some fabulous books! Goodbye Mr Chips is wonderful and the tv adaptation with Martin Clunes was just a wonderful as well ☺️
A SpaceNK right next to Daunt ... how convenient ... 💕 and Hatchard's! my fav ... the oldest bookshop in London ... Paul Gallico wrote what is the saddest book I have ever read - The Abandoned ... you and your mother are twins!
A truly lovely blog. It made me miss London and made me want to take a trip there after so long; and it would be great if I could do it before the end of that wonderful exhibition at Dulwich. I adore Berthe Morisot. Hope you and your mum had a lovely time in the city till the very end of your “coronation holiday” and looking forward to the next video. 💕

It's so sad about Book Depository, isn't it? I am in Australia, and I have ordered from Blackwell's Books a few times. They are good, too, with free postage, but they are not quite as fast with their deliveries as Book Depository was!
Also Simba and Leo are absolutely adorable, what beautiful cats!
I love the stationary you bought. 'Goodbye Mr Chips' is a lovely story. The film is really good too.

Those tins are beautiful! Well done on all your purchases! Gorgeous cats!
The British Library is huge and lovely bookshops. You are lucky to be there.
Thank you for this lovely video. Thank you for taking us along with you to all the wonderful places
Love all the bookstores. Looks like a great trip.
Wow, you have described the perfect holiday: fantastic bookshops, excellent food and beautiful art works… thank you for giving me material for my daydreams😊
So glad you enjoyed it, Laura❤️
So many good things in this vlog; bookshops, iconic London shops, London streets, stationery, books, food, Miranda and her Mum, AND 2 stunning cats to top it off! 😻😻
My own 2 cats are 4 years old today, 2 sisters.
Loved this vlog and so glad you both are enjoying your stay. Can't wait for part 2 ❤
Happy birthday to your girls! 😻❤️😻
@@MirandaMills awh thank you, Miranda. They're names are Pearl & Tigi 🥰😻😻💕
I read A View from Saturday in one sitting between the US and Japan. It is wonderful! I hope you enjoy it.
What a wonderful time you had - thank you both so much for sharing! ❤️📚
Thank you very much for your lovely comment, Sharon!
So happy to see another video! ❤
Thank you so much for taking us along with you in London, especially at this very special time, the Coronation (which I watched here in Canada and thought it fascinating!!!). A lovely vlog, Miranda, and looking forward to part 2! ❤
So glad you enjoyed it, Grace, thank you! Xxx
This London vlog came at the perfect time for me because I’ll be visiting London this week and I can’t wait to browse all these bookshops!
Oh super! Have a wonderful time in London 😊
Thank you so much, Deb! I bought the headband from a different make from the dress, so it was a fun coincidence to find out they matched 😄💙
What a wonderful vlog and how lovely of you to share your trip with us. Merci beaucoup.🙏🏻💐
Hi Miranda, it’s quite a coincidence that I read a review of A Calamity of Mannerings in today’s Sunday Times and thought I would like to buy a copy and then saw your vlog and there it was. I really enjoyed your tour of the bookshops and that exhibition looks amazing.
Forgot to mention, beautiful curious cat!
All my favourite shops, thank you for taking us along 😊
London bookshops are always such a treat, and you’ve shared some fabulous books! Goodbye Mr Chips is wonderful and the tv adaptation with Martin Clunes was just a wonderful as well ☺️
This was so well put together and delightful to watch! 🌸 I loved the stations and that impressionist garden book 😍
Aaaaaahhhh....such a treat ❣️📚📚
A SpaceNK right next to Daunt ... how convenient ... 💕 and Hatchard's! my fav ... the oldest bookshop in London ... Paul Gallico wrote what is the saddest book I have ever read - The Abandoned ... you and your mother are twins!
That was such a lovely vlog! Thx for taking us along. 😊
I love your travelling light mode, it's my favourite. ;)
