  • Why my ecommerce business failed!
This video did suck to make as I had to talk about all the things that caused my ecommerce business that I had been building up over a number of years to fail, including things outside of my control but also bad decisions that I made along the way.
And while it did suck to make, hopefully others will be able to learn from my mistakes and hopefully go on to be more successful than I was.
This is the second part of my short ecommerce journey series of videos and if you haven't already, make sure to check out part one, so that you can see how I got to this point:
    • How I Started and Buil...
I hope you found this video enjoyable and hopefully informative as that is my main goal on this channel and talking about my channel, if you would like to support it, you can do so by buying me a coffee, using the link in the description below:

Thanks for speaking out the truth instead of lying like other TH-camrs and Entrepreneurs

That was part of my motivation for this video as I have seen many others not be completely honest about things. Plus I always prefer to be honest and transparent.

A great video Paul! I can relate. Really appreciate that you are making these videos and helping another eCommerce startup like ours. I wanted to help, so I have liked all your videos and subscribed to the channel, and shared it as well. God bless you!

Thank you and I hope that others can learn from my mistakes, if so then this video was worth making. Thanks for the likes and sub, very much appreciated.

Thanks for making this video Paul, your mistakes will others to avoid them. I've been selling on eBay for over a year and I'm sincerely contemplating making the jump onto ecommerce.

No problem and if someone can learn from my mistakes, then it was worth making the video. I wouldn't just go from one to another, keep selling on Ebay while you build and market your own store.

Excellent video Paul! I've subscribed after watching this one (and a few prior ones about Ecwid and Shopify). I must commend you on your excellent public speaking abilities. You express yourself so extremely well, more so for such a difficult subject. You have hit many key points, in an well thought out progression, in a fluid manner (no filler words like "um", "you know", "and uhhhh"), it was like listening to a conference speaker. Listening to one's gut is such a tricky matter. I'm an engineer, born-again entrepreneur who's starting another new venture and this time I plan on listening to my gut way more than relying on numbers. Good work Paul. C

Thank you for the kind words. It is nice to hear that I come across well on camera as I've never been sure of how I am received and often compare myself to other TH-camrs but feel I am getting better, editing can also make things look a lot better!
I think a combination of listening to your gut and then backing it up with research is the best way to go rather than going completely with one or the other.
I got notification of another comment from you but it looks as if TH-cam deleted it for some reason.

@@EcommerceGold You're welcome Paul. I can't believe they did that (deleted comment)!!! II didn't mention names, used harsh language or anything remotely offensive. Guess they really did not like the fact that I mentioned that I found 95% of reviews (web, blogs, YT, etc.) were not constructive. OK, well, I'll try again...

They do it with a lot of comments, it probably isn't anything you said but I reckon between 10-15% of comments on this channel get auto deleted, which is very frustrating on my part!

Thanks Paul, You were correct in a previous response to one of my questions, I think I will go into ecommerce as eBay is proving a flop also with the low level of SKU's and high commissions as charged buy eBay and PayPal

I would keep Ebay as a sales channel for the short term but for long term but I definitely think investing in your own ecommerce website is the best option for the long term, with learning how to market your site being one of the best investments you will make. There are too many things outside of your control with marketplaces like ebay and amazon.

I can't say whether you should or shouldn't but there is a market out there, you just need to have the right product and put in front of the people who are going to buy it. It is a very competitive niche but there are still opportunities out there.

Nice info but from what I got from you is your happiness is money
    no money you are depressed

    • @EcommerceGold
      @EcommerceGold  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Not really as I made basically nothing in 2020 and was happier than I had been in the previous 3 years. It is more around my businesses being successful and yes, money is a bi-product of that and being more financially secure does make life less stressful as you know you are going to be able to pay your bills at the end of the month. Money isn't everything to me.
