I can imagine the amount of work it takes to maintain it. Now at 75 and living in the Cotswolds I am fortunate to have a gardener come twice a week to do the weeding and staking and he also brings a barrow boy. In all of my 75 years I have never met anyone who likes gardening as much as me, and so I firmly decided to remain single. Best of luck.
Watching the joy and happiness you get from all the flowering and growing things in your garden is beyond sweet! You look like a fairy tale princess in a storybook garden. It looks magical! I was wondering how did you meet your partner who loves gardening as much as you. A match made in heaven!
Hello, my name is Denise and I just stumbled upon your channel and subscribed instantly✨your JOY is contagious🌟😊and your yard and gardens, I just have no words lol!! It’s dreamy, it’s enchanting, it’s cozy, it’s beautiful, it’s just everything good lol!! a would love to see a video explaining idea on where to just START. Like a blank space, nothing big, but take the space, plug in the plants so we can how you do this magic lol!!! Love it and thank you🤗✨🕊
Hello Anna! I just found your channel and LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! your garden. Dusk is my favorite time in my garden! It is so magical! My name is Anna too!!! ❤ Your garden is TRULY magical!!!! Thank you!! Blessings from Richmond, VA ✨
For the yarrow try putting some in a container, they love full sun and add sand to the dirt when you plant them. Don't water too much. Have fun, I like your programs. Also I love cottage gardens. Take care. Julie
Anna you have an such an artistic eye. I look forward to see what next in your garden. It truly makes me think of an enchanted atmosphere to meditate and relax. I can see someone going to either starting the day hearing the birds and planning your day or settling and reflecting in the evening.
Wonderful. I'm in the same region of the NE. The hot humid days and nights this summer have really helped all the crops. Our corn in the fields was shoulder height by July 4. Your love of the natural plants and creatures is genuine. It is, I think. the key to your sincerety in your other videos. Real and genuine.
Did you know when you were talking about the chipmunk eating your peas that there was one actually caught on camera (30:40-30:45) nibbling as you talked!!! So funny :)
Beautiful gardens, Anna! The cuke that perished has bacterial wilt. Best to take it out (don't compost tho) so that it is less likely to spread to the others via the insects. You can try growing cukes under netting, look for parthenocarpic varieties which don't need pollinators to produce fruits if you don't want to be out there with a paintbrush hand pollinating at daybreak, though that can be fun too. 'Socrates' is a nice thin-skinned parthenocarpic cuke. Seeds are pricier but so worth it! High Mowing carries them. 'Silver Slicer' is incredible for an open pollinated variety. Ghostly pale and incredible tasty, as well as resistant to most diseases. I'm an organic veggie and flower farmer in the same-ish hardiness zone, so I'm happy to help answer any questions and give back to you in some small way in gratitude for your wonderful videos.
I think it is wonderful that you are showing your subscribers a different, yet no less passionate gift and experience. I love the color scheme of your entire garden. It is beautiful to watch similar colors showcased is a variety f different plants.
Your garden's color scheme is absolutely gorgeous! I love all the variations of white and purple with surprise tones popping out ❤ my own purples are few with having a deep burgundy house so I am truly enjoying yours 😍🪻🌸
New sub here. You have the sweetest disposition I've come across on TH-cam! And what a beautiful fairytale cottage garden you've grown! Love your repetitive design and color palette. I was captivated by the peach colored Hollyhock and Foxglove together. So lovely! I'm a seasoned gardener in zone 4b/5a (MN) and I'm pretty sure that you have Grandpa Ott Morning Glories with the purple blooms and magenta star center. They are stunners! Mine are climbing a gazebo in my garden. Once Morning Glories are established and set seed you will have them forever! They've been in my garden for 20+ yrs and come up like weeds. If you don't want that to happen in your garden, pull the vines before the seeds harden. I know that's hard to do when they're still in bloom. Just sharing a head's up. 😉 One question: What is the variety of Coleus in your shade garden at 18:10? The leaves look purple with a green edge. Very pretty! Lastly, Yarrow can take a year before it blooms and it requires at six hrs of sun per day. Full sun is best because Yarrow can flop in partial sun and produce less blooms.
The other day I was driving doing 90 when I noticed a little green grasshopper sitting on the windshield struggling to hold on. My first thought was this isn't going to end well but then the bug started walking, one leg at the time with it's antenna's flapping like crazy but still, it was succeeding. So that got me thinking maybe it will turn out okay and sure enough, when I got to make a turn and drive more slowly grasshopper simply started walking again and jumped off the car. Afterwards I realised I myself was the raging storm and grasshopper probably never noticed me behind the wheel and surely didn't understand what was happening to it. That just gives you an odd perspective on the grip we have on life, can we even look through the windshield ?
Yes, we make veggie tacos. They're delicious :) We spend as much time as we can in the garden, but now that the season has fully started we only spend maybe 20-60 mins per week maintaining it. Whenever we walk through it we'll often pick a weed or two, but really it's a very low maintenance gardening style. Hope that helps xoxo
