It’s all so delicious!! But, mashed rutabagas reminds me of my grandma who taught me how to make them. She always added them to her New England Boiled Dinner. Mashed with butter and salt. So good!!!
I can't decide, I had the buffet. Yummy food. I made a choc mousse frozen pie,but I use a large hersey bar and melt in microwave and then mix with 8 oz Cool Whip and pour in ready made graham cracker pie shell. Freeze and then enjoy joy.
About the Rutabaga's I love them boiled & salt & peppered as much as anyone, but a cousin of mine took them to another level & brought them to our Thanksgiving meal. She mixed half creamed potatoes & half creamed rutabagas, added parmesion Cheese, in a casserole dish, Then topped it off with sour cream on top & popped it in the oven for a few minutes & Wow, I could have ate myself to death !! I had to have the recipie !! I havent made it in a few years but this video reminded me. You may want to try it, or maybe you have your own version you would like to share.
One of the places my mom always wanted to go was to your restaurant. She had been a fan of yours for years. However, she was ill with heart issues. The plan was to take a trip to Savannah the following year after my Mom's open heart surgery as she knew she would finally be able to have the energy for the trip. Sadly, she passed away during the surgery. I still have a Paula Deen t-shirt that was hers. One day my sister and I will make the trip to visit the restaurant in her memory. Be safe and keep on cooking!
Ahhh. So sad, and very sorry for your loss. It will be a heartfelt visit for you and your sister, but I'll bet your Mom would want you to have a wonderful time in Savannah. It's a beautiful city!
I had never had rutabaga until I was around 40 yrs old when my now deceased boyfriend that loved to cook got some from a neighbor and he made it for us that night. SO yummy. I always think of him when I hear the word. 💜
I saw her pull out the dough for the pie, and thought, "What's she doing using a banana to make a chocolate pie for?", yup, that's the kind of day I'm having! LOL
This is one of my favorite episodes of Paula's Best Dishes. Probably cause it was the first! Love Pot Roast. That's the way I make it mashed rutabaga little bit more pepper! Always Thanksgiving!!! Those fried green tomatoes with the onions and mayonnaise. yum! Chocolate mousse Pie easier to make and always on our menu!!!!
Paula would you pretty please make some Chocolate Bread Pudding, made with leftover biscuits. My mother died and I was not able to get a copy of the recipe before she passed away.
this doesn't have anything to do with this video..but...you mean a lot to me Miss Paula..so I want to know if you are going to be on TV anymore...I MISS YOU!!
Paula, the hair is such a good look for you. Darling! You have amazing hair, no matter what you do with it, but this look is especially attractive for you. Just my thoughts. 😊🧑🦳
Sorry Paula, Love You, Love your recipes, just bragged on your show, but i'll tell you what is not my favorite recipe. went to Lady & Sons a few years back, had the buffet, & banana pudding. Everything was great & Probably the banana pudding would have been as well if mine was not soo much better. Again, Sorry !! But it has been fun to brag that my banana pudding is better than Yours.
Ok Paula, I will try your recipe for pot roast, but I can tell you that I have tried for years to make a tender, juicy pot roast, no matter how I try. I follow recipes to the T, and still come out tasting tough. I just can't cook, please send me a Paula Deen pot roast!!
Have you tried pressure cooking beef for pot roast? It comes out so tender, moist and flavorful. Use beef broth for your liquid, add some chopped onion and garlic to the broth too. Also use the correct cut of beef, one with some fat and marbling. Eye of round would not be a good choice, no fat n too lean.
For someone who doesn’t have a pressure cooker, I have used a cooking magic bag! Makes clean up easier also I have even added carrots and potatoes right along with the other things she included! All in one dinner!
@@annek1226 Yes, those bags are like magic. I roast my Thanksgiving turkey and it comes out moist every time. The turkey does brown to a nice color too. (I thought it wouldn't when I first tried), but it really did a nice job. I have used for pork loin roast too.
What's your favorite dish at The Lady & Sons?

I hope that they never never bring back Paula Deen because if food network decides to bring her show back I won't watch it because she is a disgrace

Hi Paula do you think you can make some buttery broccolini with goat cheese
Do you have a preference for cookware, Paula?
Try cream of onion instead of mushroom in that pot roast!
Can I make thee onion relish more dilly?
Can someone tell me what cut of meat she is using for the pot roast?
She mentioned chuck roast
Yep Chuck roast..
Yes, chuck roast. The recipe calls for a 1 to 3 pound boneless chuck roast.
Thanks everyone!
