I didn't realize this swap didn't necessarily need hot water/a hairdryer to do, so decided to take a chance and was able to make the switch fairly smoothly with the exception of getting the right arm back into the shoulder joint--actually started sweating trying to push that back in and was SO relieved when it did. 😅
I chanced upon this issue couple months ago..resolved it quite easily. Made me went back to check everyone including ben reily and black spider. The black one was hard to see. 😂
Imagine buying a 100 dollar figure and having to swap its shoulders. Between that, the fragile wrists, and the atrocious paint I've seen on some copies, Im really glad I passed on this.
Hey, idk if you can help with this but on my figure, the left leg is about half a cm longer so the figure wont stand up straight... i have no idea what to do about this!!! Help!
@@DCSG81 I have indeed. The only problem I can spot with the figure is that on the shorter leg, the ball piece in the top doesn't rotate like it does in the other one. Could this be the source of my issue??
Anyone else got the issue of having two left shoulders? Not the actually shoulder piece, but the butterfly joint that the shoulder plugs into on mine is backwards on the right side. I didn’t notice it at first, but now I can’t unsee it. And the figure feels super delicate so I don’t even want to try to fix it. Ngl for $100 it’s pretty disappointing but not anything to get up in arms about. Mafex Customer Support doesn’t work for me from the states either so nothing I can rly do about it 😢
Thank you I wish you made a video a month earlier, not your fault ofc :) I did it myself, it was kinda trial and error, but I was all sweat since I didn't check how the shoulder joints should be positioned.
Hey! did your mafex 185 (classic suit spiderman) have any issues with paint rub? mine does, but i managed to return it. just want your answer before buying this figure again as i love this figure but the paint rub is throwing me off.
@@DCSG81The classic costume, or the very bright colored one. Yes, my room can be very hot at times as it is summer where im at. Is that a huge problem for pain rub?
@@DCSG81 yeah, i also have paint rub issue on the figure, the one with the bright blue of course. i live in florida so it gets really hot over here. does a hot environment really affect the figures paint? if it does, i might return it and get another one now that i know of this.
Oh my bad, 185 is the classic suit… I keep thinking you are taking about 075… lol That’s very new.. yes, hot and humid room can make the paint melt and hence you have paint rub..
@@DCSG81 oh okay thank you! i was debating whether it was a qc issue but guess its not, as i was about to cancel my pre order for the scarlet spider. ill make sure to well air condition my room next time lol
I’ve done it on all 3 of my copies. I’ve just taken the shoulders apart and fixed them. No hairdryer needed for me. Only thing I had to do was fix the peg hole on one of the shoulders for all figures so it could fit.
@@katarn101 Just slowly pull the bicep joint out from the shoulder, then the shoulder out from the torso. Swap shoulders and plug biceps back into them. To fix the peg hole I just slowly scraped around the hole until it snapped into place properly.
It's not that distracting. I would rather have a tight shoulder joint. Weak or damaged shoulder joints, means no swinging or web shooting poses = pointless Spidey fig.
I did it in my classic suit version and broke the arm. Did get a replacement but now I have 2 left soldiers. Its not noticeable but ain't risking it again

Hahahaa… yeah can be nerve wreaking
Your original 075 didn’t have the shoulder issue. The comic version and the re-issue 075 had the problem. It’s very apparent in those ones.
Ahh.. I see.. thanks for telling me!
I did the swap on mine. A very easy method using hot water. No problem at all.
Good to know!

Lol did you fixed all of them??
@@DCSG81 ben rily and the classics yes. Assumed black was ok.
Didnt check scarlet..should i? Haha

Actually the shoulder swap is not that necessary.
It actually improves the anatomy. The shoulder muscle on the front is too prominent with the unfixed shoulders.
Hmmm.. i didnt know that...
@@DCSG81 Swapped on my comic version. No problems.

Do sounds like it... maybe a little heat to loosen it up?

Hey bro can u show me how to remove the foot from captain America civil war?
I'll never do it but that's good to know.
Yeah I do think it’s unnecessary to do the swap

So sorry for the delay

Hmmmm… you mean the original or the reissue?
Both of mine seems okay though… no paint rub so far.. could it be your room is hot and humid?

The entire joint was soposed to be swaped not just the shoulder piece
I think that works too

Yeah not necessary to swap
shoulders are fine on the OG 075
You mean yours?
@@DCSG81 on yours too - look closely. its quite obvious really.
hey man i hope you see this i separated the bicep from tge shoulder and now i cant put the bicep back on the shoulder. What do I do
You need to push back the shoulder piece deeper inside so it will reveal the joint, then can pop in the bicep piece back into the joint revealed.
yea but the bicep joint just doesnt pop in like yours and im scared to push too hard and break it.
and mine is the 185 btw

Swapped the shoulders, but ended up breaking the bicep peg. Super sad lol
I broke mine doing this
I couldn't leave it. It was driving me crazy. Maybe I have OCD
Hahahaha… you are a perfectionist perhaps
It's really not difficult if you're just patient. Did mine just fine.
That’s great!
mine broke doing this
Oh so sorry to hear that
Wow, I didn't even notice them all had it
Yeah
Thx
