Hi Nick, I am not a fashion designer, nor a student, but a finance person.. It is an interesting moment to watch your video for the explanation, understand and no hesitation.... Please do it more even with many basic ideas, good tips to learn. I am sure your books are good to explain , but always the F2F gives a clear understanding , and your humor never bores! Looking for more of your videos...chao..
Nick, my friend and I LOVE your videos. My friend, after a drink or so, sent me a text saying she had been watching Nick Berries videos. Lovingly, we now refer to you as Nick Berries! Keep up the good work, you are a blessing to those of who aspire to not just make, but create garments for ourselves.

OMG you are my favorite Fashion Designer! I remembered you from the competition Project Runway! You are amazing thanks for the tips, for sure I’ll follow up! And learn! ❤️❤️🙏🙏
Okay, so as an artist who primarily works in figures/portraits, I feel like a major part of figure study was left out. AND I never heard it in the "real world." I'm amazed that the inches between points is so precise. I've always used ratios and had no idea that vastly different people's "points" can fall within an inch or two with certainty. I don't know if this knows would have helped my art and development, but I am pretty chapped that I'm still paying off an education that didn't include it. Cheers from the Last Coast and I look forward to learning more. SUBBED.
Nick, I am hooked on your videos because you are an awesome and fun teacher, never boring. I just subscribed and will be purchasing your book. So glad I found your videos, I am learning so much.
Hi Nick im Lucille and im a dressmaker. I've been watching your videos and i've learned a lot. I love the way you explain things and with your bubbly personality im truly enjoying watching your videos. Thank you for sharing all these. God bless you.
thank you so much for making these videos when i feel i need to brush up on a skill that i may have forgotten a video always seems to pop up from u answering all my questions!
great advise about the shoulder pads for the kyphotic curve.. I really don't understand why they don't have the posture of the mannequins posterior body reflect the anterior
OH my.. You certainly are fabulous... I'm having fun watching your videos. On my Christmas wish list this year, is a form. Thank you for making using a form so doable... With your help, I think I'll be able to get some of my ideas out of my head, and into real world designs. I have two small girls (6&7) but wouldn't it be great if the could help me design their prom dresses someday. Your excitement is contagious.... Hooray !
Hi, Nick! I absolutely love your videos! I have an adjustable dress form that doesn't have princess seams, is there any tips on how to find the princess seams so I can mark it with the black twill tape? And are the side seams in an adjustable form usable when draping, since the sides overlap/ have gaps when adjusted to my size? Thank you :)
Hi LT Smile: Good question--It's a little tricky marking the side seams of those adjustable forms especially since it's like there's an "open space" where you really can't place anything. However, I would try somehow to do so. Maybe pining at the top and then the bottom of that "open space" and vertically placing a twill tape, to mark the side seam. Try it. But yes, it is a little difficult. Another suggestion is to somehow pin and drape a piece of fabric (muslin) onto your adjustable form covering the open area and then marking the center of that as your side seam. Try that! Good luck and let me know if that works! --Nick
What do you think of using a "t-shirt" to cover the adjustable form including shoulder pads so you have a surface to mark up with tape or sharpie markers? @@NickVerreosFashionSchool
Hi Nabel: You can use cheap shirting cotton. Or any cotton/ply bend that is cheap and that you can get from your local fabric store. Think of fabric that would be good for a man's shirt--light, cotton-y and drape-able. But if your draping silky dresses (or sewing silky dress first samples), look for polyester satins (cheap ones!) as your choice of a "muslin". --Nick

hi nick, im so glad that Ur ryt there to teach me. here í have a doubt in forms. when draping which number form should i pick up. i think it is difficult to get all numbers as they r expensive. suggest plz
and one more doubt, if somebody is there with different measurements, i mean to say everyone has there own measurements. then how far these forms help for draping. how can í drap for different measurements, plz reply. I'm eagerly waiting coz none of d you tube classes explain dis. i hope u will clear it
Do you have any tips on how to create a pattern of any kind without having a fashion form to work on? Will I just need to take a million measurements of myself and/or my model for a proper pattern??
Thanks so much used you video to sort tailors dummy to fit me and to drape a dress pattern as the bought one i used did not fit in ny shape or form . i am not the average size and therefore standard patterns now no use .thansk again . will def keep coming back to your videos
Is there a difference between the form with the flat back and the one with the butt in terms of the type of garment you are designing? I was told the curvier forms are for evening wear construction. My professor in college made a big deal about that.
Do you have a size chart which shows where the 4 main horizontal lines (bust, under bust, waist & hips) should be if you are shorter/taller than the average person? I note that you mention the bust is 10" from the neck and under bust is 13" from the neck on your model size 4, but is that the same for a shorter person with a bigger bust?
I am interested in getting a mannequin, but my bust is a size 6 and my booty is a size 14... How can I select the right mannequin, or manipulate one to match my shape better? Or should I just make a customized one???
Nick, I am new and I am trying to following, your school for fashion. Will you please share what order I should start from in following your videos? Thank You
