BZ. I'm new to this and just managing 25 miles at the mo. Love your videos and big respect for that effort. Just found your channel and am hooked :) Stay well.
I know I’m a bit behind the times in watching this now but never mind! Looks like an excellent event. I’d like to do that someday - seems like it’s relatively relaxed and certainly well-organized 🤩. Thanks for sharing.
I have a lot of fun watching your riding, nice atmosphere with friends, relaxing( may be not while climbing:)), beautiful military rode and I really like the way you speak or explain on your video, not too fast, clear sometimes funny.👍Thank you.
Excellent re-post Leonard! You looked rock solid even at 82.5 km! I have begun cycling again and also lifting weights. There was a gravel race across the county on May 2, and I am thinking about entering next year. They offer 50k, 100k and 100 mile events. Thanks for your TH-cam channel. It is by far my favorite! Webb
Hi Leonard, I am new to your channel and enjoying it enormously. Great stories, cool tips, great video, nice music to it, the list is endless. I love biking and your channel has made me think about taking it to the next level. Keep it up, the whole thing is just a rare beauty and very inspirational!
Hi Leonard, thank you, I really enjoyed this. Weather here is like your ride last year. We are breaking all the records for cold in May. We are still going down below zero at night and we are having snow flurries today when normally it would be 15 degrees.. Its wreeking havoc on my wife's gardens. Yesterday I did get out for a short ride of 32k , however the 1st 12k had 350 meters of climbing, so I warmed up going up; it was 5 degrees at top. I completed the 1st 16 k and then frooze Coming back. Anyway thanks again, great video.
hey Leonard, I had to come back and revisit this bicycle diaries episode again- great film, inspired me to just sign up for the 2022 event on my hardtail and flats :) hehe I better get some decent training rides in before then - cheers :)
Hi Leonardo. Nice boat ride and a lot of riders in different kind of bikes. They could supply chips/sensors instead of getting stamped.Very nice ride, good weather, the road ocean view was great, Ciao from partial lock down Italy.
Saverio Di Poce I think that because this is a Randonnee, they aren’t too interested in timings. It’s all about making it round, hence the cards and stamps. Plus everything on the Isle of Wight is about 100 years behind the mainland.
@@jollygoodvelo The Country side with the ocean view is great. I bet you have some fine fish restaurants with ocean view.I can just imagine eating some fresh fish after 100 km ride seating in an area with ocean view. What more would anyone want?
Thanks, Leonard. That took me back nearly sixty years. We rode from Bournemouth over to the IOW, then did our club's annual round the island ride, then home. We stopped at a pub for beer and sandwiches. The landlord asked me if I was eighteen. I wasn't quite, but close enough, so I lied. Well, I had to have a pint or two.
@@jollygoodvelo I doubt that I stopped at just one. In those days I recall a pint of bitter cost one shilling, and scrumpy was 10d. (12d or pence made one shilling, and twenty shillings made one pound, to the utter confusion of visitors from other countries. And four farthings made a penny.)
"Don't know what the world is coming to," he said. Do any of us? Congratulations - again - on last year's success! Here's to many more kms under your bikes.
Ride with Gae I’m sure they will. I just hope that we have learnt something from all of this. In many ways the world is a much better place under lockdown.
I love the colour of your Trek. It's so sad watching things like this realising how much the world has changed in a few months. Makes me wonder if events like this will ever happen again in the new world order especially when we have to take the "vaccine". Your friend Paul seems a nice guy too. Makes the whole cycling experience so much better when you have great company doesn't it?
Hello Leo! Your videos are great! I have a question. Why you bought Cannondale bike? You already have a great bike as Trek!!! Why you prefer to have to very good bikes and not only one like Trek or Cannondale?
110 km is a Brevet Populaire, NOT a Randonee. When I saw the title of this vid, I thought "how can the organiser plan a 200 km route round the IoW?" When Audax UK's ban is lifted (next year), have a go at the New Forest Excursion from Lymington.

Leonard, great big ride you achieved on your last ride!! Inspirational and what a cool event 🚴 thanks for sharing
David Ngo thanks for watching.

Sadly, it’s already been cancelled for this year.

I can't get used why you call 50km, 50k. Guess metric still isn't in the DNA.

It’s a tough ride and no mistaking. Good luck with it. I’ll probably sign up too but I will have to check the dates of when I am in Italy.
Great video, when you have a choice always pick the long route!
Leonard just watched your IOM Randonne great job!

Well done, great video.
Looks like fun! Well done!
Thanks!
What a good day, Leonard! I hope to see you again some time for another IoW Randonnee :)
It’s was great to have you join us, Marion. You are always welcome to join us. Maybe even the long route next year?
Nice video, good miles, maybe next year😎👍
Maybe see you there.
Thank you for sharing images of...FREEDOM!

Dominic Walker Indeed!
I feel jealous. Excellent ride.

You deserved it after that epic ride.

Lovely ride 🙂👍🏻👍🏻
It was.

Good on aa Leo! Maybe cooler temps make for a better ride? I find it to be.
Those moments will come back

leonardmlee 😜
Cheers to Leonard and the most efficient machine ever invented by man.
Michael Tattershall Amen to the most efficient machine.
I love your jersey. Who is the manufacturer?
Chapeau I think

May have missed it but what was the total time of the ride?
"im already looking forward to next years ride..." ah.
DanFrancisco Me too.
Might try it next year if i keep my fitness going next year
Hope to see you there, John.
I done a sportive on the Isle of Wight, and I thought how hard can it be? well, it's very hard 😂
Well done Sir.
nice ride.👍
Thanks, it was.
👍
Have you got strava!!
Stuart Stevenson - he does...look for “Leonard Lee”.
Trek looks nice
Better to have a cold day on the bike than a warm fuzzy day at the office.
Exactly.
What the hell just happened...I thought it was Friday!
I just added a bonus film. Panic over.
"I really am looking forward to next year's ride. Thanks for watching" - well, that was before the asteroid hit!
Who would have thought that??
Days when humans can socialise 😔😔😔😔😔☹️😭😭😭😭😭 please stay safe
Dr A&B You too.
The Title...The Bicycle Diaries. Assume Che or his real name, Ernesto didn't make the trip. Jim
James Horan I probably would have noticed a long dead Argentinian revolutionary on the ride but then again...
Shorter hair there mate
That was back in the days when we could do crazy things like having haircuts.
leonardmlee weird english people! Having a haircut. What are you thinking...
Remember when:
1. You could ride in a cycling event with your friends.
2. Get a proper haircut!
Your’re just teasing us now, Jeffery!
No I don't remember that. Are you sure you didn't dream it?
You look older last year than you do this year. Did you sell your soul to the devil?
When I watched this I thought I was slimmer and younger looking. Might be the beer goggles.
