Sarah I live in Rego Park and you found one the best kept secrets from the Bukharian community. Their bread is super fresh and they sell to all the bukharian restaurants in the neighborhood. Got it love Queens.
Wow wow wow!! I love this!! I visited NYC this year in February before lockdown and stayed with a friend in Queens! I love how diverse it is!! So much yummy food you can’t get anywhere else! I totally saw these murals and didn’t realize they had such background to them! It totally revived my desire to move to Queens (when covid is over hopefully this spring) 😅

My mom took me to Jamaica Bay so often as a kid; I feel so fortunate to have memories of hiking nature trails with views of lower Manhattan, particularly of the Twin Towers. I love ny, i grew up and was raised in Queens... but NYC is just so damn expensive and unless your making 250-300k combined income, dont bother living there. My biggest problem with NYC are the tolls, you cant even travel anywhere 30 minutes in NYC without hitting a $8 toll bridge (unless you go to Long Island) not to mention the astronomical cost of parking on the streets in manhattan (cheapest is $4/hour street parking) and unless you have family inheritance or a bucket load of money, you most likely will never afford your own home there... 100 year old dilapitadd homes in flushing queens sell for $1 million where Im from

I think there are a lot of sovereign countries (around 40- or 50 maybe)that the UN does not recognize and more occupied territories that the people of that territory/country consider themselves independent (Think that number is closer to 100) but def. don't quote me I haven't studied this in almost 10 years! eeek i'm getting old

One last thing: im 99% sure you dont pronounce the "k" in "bukharian". For the four years i went to forest Hills HS ive never heard someone pronounce the "k", and Hills is filled with bukharians.
