Welcome to "Cruise Travel and Explore with Stick Man Steve"! I'm thrilled to share the first vlog of an exciting series documenting our incredible P&O Cruise on the stunning Iona ship, exploring the breathtaking Norwegian fjords! 🌊✨
Departure and Journey
Our adventure began on Saturday, 6th July 2024, departing from the Southampton cruise terminal. But first, we embarked on a memorable coach journey from Blackpool, Lancashire, UK. Thanks to P&O Cruises, our coach transfer was smooth and hassle-free. We were picked up by Intercruises at 8:15 am from the Premier Hotel on Squires Gate Lane, Blackpool. We then had a second pickup at 8:45 am from Preston.
The Coach Experience
The 6-7 hour coach journey included two stops to stretch our legs and grab a bite. It was a comfortable ride with plenty of opportunities to chat with fellow travelers. Upon arrival in Southampton, we were ready to embark on our week-long Norwegian adventure! 🚌✨
Onboard P&O Iona
Once aboard the majestic P&O Iona, we quickly settled into our cozy inside cabin on deck 12. In this vlog, I'll give you a sneak peek of our cabin, with a full tour coming in later vlogs. We also had a special surprise planned for Gemma, my fiancée! 🎉💑
First Day Highlights
Our first day was packed with excitement:
We watched England play Switzerland in the European Championships at The Club House Bar on deck 8. ⚽🍻
We dined at the exquisite Indian restaurant, Sindhu, and it was so good we booked another reservation for later in the trip! 🍛🍷

That was a good Vlog… And thank you for documenting, the coach travel. Not many people do that… I’m going on the coach with my friend on the 7th of September from Wetherby down to Southampton and onto Iona .Nice to see what the coaches look like… They look quite luxurious!!
we went on a coach last time on iona we are also book for next year taking the coach again these give you more leg room and we traveled from stoke on Trent
Hi, thank you for your kind words, feedback and comment, I wish I had filmed more and talked more about the journey and booking the coach etc, I’m still learning and each vlog series will get better but it makes me so happy that people like what I’m already doing. Hi, thanks for watching the vlog, means a lot. It was our best ever cruise, loved every minute of it, even though the weather was not great on some days, amazing place. Olden and Stavanger were our favourite places. The ship is incredible so much to see, do, drink and eat. You are going to have a fantastic time. 😀👍🛳️
