Walkthrough 01 (Angel Ending) is my first no-death playthrough. This means the play choices aren't perfectly optimized, but is a good introduction to the game mechanics. This playthrough gets the "Angel Ending" where Elodie saves the kingdom from war through song.
Full walkthrough path here: www.anamardoll....
"She's a lesbian magic priestess so she's awesome in every way."
Okay. I like this channel already.
I thought Elodie was a bit of a ditz my first few play throughs. Then I realized that enough people in her country were willing to be led by a 14 year old who's still in school and not getting any advice outside of her classes..... kind of makes you think......
Yeah but that's kind of what happened in English monarchy I think, and she might get a bit of advice from her dad when she's actually the queen. I know in Scotland if the king/queen died and the next heir was still too young they would pass the crown on to their cousin or someone else more able and the monarchy would have a new line.
Well, they are uneducated peasants with the belief in "divine right of monarchs".
Rebelcommander6 I mean, if Elodie is *completely* incompetent she is deposed or assassinated. Leaving her in charge, as unqualified as she might be, prevents a scramble for control of the throne by the Noble houses that would probably tear the kingdom apart. And I think most people would presume that her father's the one really calling the shots, even though he does seem to be unwilling to do so in fact.
Elodie = girl boss!
That's not quite true. Scottish kings had regencies and guardianships, by which i mean all of them did after Robert 1 but they were still kings.@@xowky4
Your first "Let's Play", huh? You did good. I give you a round of applause. The microphone volume was perfect, you were talking most of the time if not all of it. You were entertaining as well. Once again, a round of applause.
She played the game before but recorded it her second time playing but the commentary is really good so I'll applaud.
im 7 years in the future I wish more people would just explain scenes instead of reading the game's script verbatim
We destroyed your navy, marched trough your land with little resistance, captured your capital just to say:'We surrender.' It was not as cheesy as it was funny :)
when you said that forcing her to marry was extreme... She almost started a war and she was a traitor killing her with torture would be rather ''normal'' thing to do
adimyokich honestly all I gotta say she kinda deserved it,
Best punishment.
Well, technically, depending on the Royal laws of Nova, Brin might've had every right to attack the kingdom as the law permits, as this was not an invasion backed by the Queen, it might've been her duchy (and possibly her brother's duchies) attempting to do a conquest for the land that she had a claim on.
Sing your way out of a war... that's new. I cut his head open with my magical sword. He won't be singing much to his children it seems.
When I consider the total cutthroat nightmare that is Elodie's 40 weeks, I find myself deciding that I just can't have her inflict anything remotely near that scenario upon Togari's kids. I'd want to play Crown Princess Elodie as the sort who wouldn't repeat what he did to her mother. It'd either be "Sing the conquest out of him" or "Send him limping home to a destabilised realm" for me.
This is exactly what i was looking for, awesome, you really deserve more subs and viewers!
Dizastrophe aggreed
Yeah you are completely right she deserves way more views and/or subs
This is something you've probably noticed as you've played the game so many times now, but for new players: the moods are not just random sliders. Sometimes you'll be in a situation, and your mood will give or take away choices from you. One example is (SPOILERS)
when you can marry a certain person. If you've used a supposed alliance to him to avoid war in a previous scenario, then you refuse to marry him, he'll pretty much say that you're in trouble if you don't marry him. If you're more yielding, then you don't get a choice and have to accept. If you're not yielding, you get to choose.
I always find myself coming back and watching these videos once every few months. I don’t know why they’re just so enjoyable to watch for me. It’s something that doesn’t happen often. The fact that I’ve rewatched these all so much speaks volumes about how good your content is 💓
Thank you!
Back here after years as a comfort, a favorite series of mine. Thank you for it, and I hope all is well in life
Watching in 2019 because I just discovered this game and find its huge amount of skills to build up and how it affects the story really interesting! Cool playthrough!
there is only one way you just heard of this game...
RTGames brought you here
Aye. This whole style of games is sweet
This game was part of my childhood, glad you're enjoying this now lmao
@@bastard-took-the-name-I-had actually what's funny is I originally watched RPGminx (mangaminx) play it, but RTgames played it and I was like "FUCK I REMEMBER THIS GAAAMME!"
I don't think I'v sit through such a long youtube video from start to finish ever.
Seriously, well done Ana, your commentary really gave flying colors to the playthrough.
By the way, I also couldn't help but to have my heart melt with the pink haired angel figure
Aw, this was probably the happiest Long Live the Queen playthrough i've seen so far :D
She marries Banion and Brin which was cute as heck, she ended the war by teaching evil boi to sing again (cheesy but sweet!)and was an overall pretty nice person (I mean besides that one assassination but hey it could be worse).
Now I'm kinda worried about the rest of the endings :
1:04:16 this is where Dad earns the Shittiest Parent Of The Year award from me. I'm not going to shame him for hooking up with someone only a few months after his wife's death - different people experience grief differently and I don't believe it takes anything away from the love he had for her while she was still alive - but being caught flirting and essentially saying "Elodie, it's your fault I was getting ready to sleep with this woman" is just really bad. It's made even worse by the fact that if you choose different options, he still flirts with her so there's no truth in-game to the idea that Elodie's actions had anything to do with it; but even if it had been true, Joslyn, don't put that on your 14 year old daughter's mind.
Not gonna lie, this ending just makes all of us go
c :
.
too many people are brought here by RTGames
I liked your commentary for this a lot! You have a nice humorous play style and a lot of background knowledge of the game. After watching RTGame's disastrous run, it's nice to see the game played successfully :P
It's also nice to not hear the hellish voices.
34:25 You need to play some Crusader Kings II if you want to realize how utterly minor a thing like this is for medieval politics. I mean, especially as a punishment that is light considering that is what would be expected of anyone at this point in time. That's why you had a lover on the side while you engaged in political marriage for land, status and alliances.
Besides she didn't even have the tact to fake a cassius belli before invading? Get that weak shit outta my face "lady with a flower in her hair."
+DrakeDarkHunter I tried CK2 actually but I was totally lost, lol.
+Ana Mardoll CK2 is pretty damn fun, I've over 500 hours in it and still suck... :P
+DrakeDarkHunter Who cares about nobles and their politics? The most serene republic of Venice takes what it wants!
@@Bidmartinlo Constantinople, for starters......
not gonna lie, I absolutely love this let's play. I'm honestly to afraid to play the game myself as when I tried, I had a complete and utter mental breakdown as I'm just to emotionally to really handle the bad and stressful parts. Was nice actually seeing an ending for once, especially since I didn't have the burden of playing myself XD
If you duel Kevan and manage not to kill him and then choose to marry Kevan in the epilogue the epilogue says that he tries to impale you but your guards step in. After this happens Elodie has no more intentions on marrying anyone for a pretty long time.
Brit Huitema Of course, if you don't try to assassinate any of his family members, he'll come to love you.
Greats first let's play, a little advice, keep a prelude short and launch the game fairly quick. Studies show that if you take to long of an intro a lot of people lose interest in the first 30 seconds or so. Otherwise great, keep going.
Jason Fraser Me too
I watched this lets play like 4(?) years ago when i didn't really understand english, so i didn't get anything you were saying but i still loved this and watched all of it again multiple times for two years and I'm pretty sure that you played a major part in me learning English xD so thnx
Also I'm super excited to watch this again after two years cause i don't remember ANYTHING that happened in this ;-;
I find it weird Charlotte's hair is purple when neither of her parents have purple hair. Maybe she got it from a dead relative we never meet. Similar to Elodie. We never see Elodie's mom, so for all we know, she could have had pink hair.
This could be a spoiler if I remember it correctly, so *spoilers*, but I'm pretty sure that the strange hair could be a nod to the fact that Elodie and Charlotte are both the children of a lumen.
Amazing job picking up and starting something you're interested in. A lot of people have lots of anxiety about getting their voices out on the web, so a round of applause for starting your TH-cam channel!
I've been having A LOT of troubles with this game and coming across your walkthroughs has helped me a lot so thank you very much :) You're also very mellow and soothing to listen to.
Things can be cheesy or corny...but only if you overdose the emotion and leave room for nothing else.
This didn't overdose the emotion. You want emotional moments in a story.Otherwise the characters don't have depth or personality.
The ending wasn't cheesy or corny. It was good.
Didn't know this game was that old :o
Wanted to see all the endings for some time know, thanks for this playlist ^^
Rewatching this to get me through a hard time. Love this game and your videos.
I can see why people tend to call this "Princess Maker: Game of Thrones Edition"
I'm back on my annual watch through of this series :) This time I have the game too
kinda ridiculess how you feel bad for a woman who want's to start a civil war
and murdered her husband
feeling remorse for her is a little extreme, even on the paragon side you gotta have some balance.
ambition changes people, you make alot of money standards go up life is good and then you start the 2nd world war and your name is hitler
"this is your dad... He's useless... But that's okay."
Hi, longtime lurker on your blog, haven't really posted before. I like let's plays but wasn't sure this one would be my thing. Gave it a try and you definitely convinced me. Not sure I'd enjoy actually playing the game (anxiety issues surrounding that sort of choice based entertainment) but hearing and watching it was awesome, so thanks.
Thanks!
At first, I was really upset that you didn't even touch your mystical category, but now I realize that you are doing multiple endings, and that is what this play through called for. So, lovely play through and I'm going to go watch the second ending now! Thanks for doing the whole thing, it was really hard to find someone who did multiple ends!
Thanks for the walkthrough, I enjoyed it!! :D This game is so adorable
34:23
I think that you shouldn’t give a damn what she is she kill hundreds of people by starting a war so she has to live with the consequences
Thank you very much, i enjoyed this lets play a lot. :)
I also enjoyed to listen to your voice.
Greetings from Germany.
So happy your walkthroughs exist, thank you! Not to mention, your voice is really pleasant to listen to :D
Is there a map anywhere so we can see what this kingdom looks like and where all these Duchies are in relation to each other? That would help visualize all the internal intrigue and foreign threats.
I agree, but if there is I've always died before then :'(
I know this comment was made a while ago, but I've recently been watching a playthrough by GrimithR who did show a map of the kingdom. I could have a look for the part where he shows it, if you're still interested
Extremely late to the party, but, thank you very much for this playthrough. You kept it fun and engaging throughout.
I feel like I watch this exact video twice or so every year. The game's amazing, and I highly suggest you give it a spin some time!
37:59 this is the first time I've ever witnessed a videogame re enacting Italian politics so perfectly 11/10
I saw this game advertised on Steam over the holiday and was really curious to see what it was like. I'm glad to have found an awesome Let's Play of it! Great job, especially for a first LP.
i love how many female figures of power there are in this game!!! the main worshipped god is a woman, and the priest is woman! not to mention the actual existence of lesbians !!!! (basically lol) this was very cool. a very nice playthrough.
When "dad"told eliodie about the ball we both said THANKS DAD and i laughed so hard
Here I am marathoning another Niche game for every possibility and plotpoint, this series is especially relaxing.
.
RTGames bring people from across the internet
when Togami said "I haven't sung in a long time" I was like SING BITCH, SING!!!
XDD
togami... danganronpa? XD
don't think he was much of a singer though xD
lol
I love this playthrough series, and I'm glad I could find it again! As for the question at 45:39 , why feeling Lonely makes one gain extra Conversation experience, the impression I got was that Elodie would be looking for company and thus more receptive to learning how to make friends and influence people.
While I'm sure some better choices could have been made here, this was still a very successful playthrough (especially compared to others I've watched).
A few things I wanted to mention though:
1) sending Adair anywhere other than to his grandfather will probably save his life.
2) you can still receive the embroidered horse cushion if you don't kill the Duchess of Lillah. Someone other than her son will send it.
3) is Talarist the one who will try to kill you on your wedding night? You can get engaged to him very early on and he seems decent, but then I suppose there's a reason you didn't give him the duchy.
fedupwithusernames I believe Kevan is the one who can try to kill you on your wedding night, but only if you make choices that assassinate members of his family, iirc. :)
Ah, I see. Thank you for replying. :) It does sound like Kevan, too.
Adair will survive being with his grandpa if you get engaged to Talarist.
I really like your voice, it's so cute and energetic ^-^
Well played! I see you went the Hapsburg route of ruling!~
I like your videos for some one doing this for the first time. You are very charismatic and sound pretty intelligible. I enjoy and hope you keep making more walkthroughs.
This just makes me really happy???
Wow, I didn't expect that kind of option for Togami. How cool~
Lonely makes her speak well because she would express her feeling or something like that but depressed gives her a boost on voice
Well done. This LP is brilliant.
Anime age is told through eyes. The bigger and bubblier the eyes, the younger
XD After all those sad endings in the other videos, I'm watching this one again for the fluffy feelz.
Never underestimate the power of friendship and singing.
Was looking for a guide on this. Glad I found you. Gonna see if I can't get the other endings from your other videos :3
Thanks for this, really needed some insight into the game after failing very often.
Not too sure but i guess *SPOILER*
I think the way this run-through went with the forcing Brin to marry, dancing with her, and accepting her flowers i think after the letter that says that she could see you more often then i believe if you choose no one in the marriage option at the end that instead of the usual unnamed duke marriage you end up with Brin
There is also a way to marry Alice the maid. Although that requires a cruelty run. Apologize for her bumping into you, Dance with her at the party (requires the examine women option she will be one of the options to dance with which raises cruelty somehow), if Banion or Brin send you gifts you have to give them to Alice, if you win against togami you have to execute EVERYONE. Which will unlock a scene in which Alice will say that she will always support you in everything. She will then appear as a marriage option.
Briony is also an option also surprisingly
You know, I've just realised through watching the rest of your walkthroughs, that there is only actually one good ending, and this is it. All of the other endings where you survive end with your lands destroyed, or you having to tempt fate with the kraken, or your dad dying, or having to sacrifice your own cousin to the kraken. None of the other endings actually end well, they just end... ok.
Edit: You know, I've just realised that there is one more ending that you might consider pretty good, this one being the one where you stop the invaders with your own warships. Obviously this isn't as good an ending though, as Togami still survives , and from the sounds of it, wants to exact vengence.
Ezio133798 This is an old message from you, but I've played this game. If you manage to kill Togami after your fleet is destroyed, you can kill him. It's a happier ending than even this.
Richard Kolic I'm curious to know how you think that ending is better. For me this is the best ending, since you make an ally and a friend.
I were satisfied with my good ending even by killing him off. But you're right ,letting him live isn't so bad.
Ezio133798 I think killing Tagmi is a much better ending because *SPOLIER ALERT*
Tagmi is responsible for Elodie's Mother death. Its reveal once Tagami kills your dad. I feel as that a better ending than being friends with a person who killed your mom =∆=. He's pretty much the reason why this game started.
Nakaiya Dumelle And yet Elodie can forgive him. I mean, doesn't he find out about that in that ending?
“This is your dad ,,, he’s useless” OMMF
If you click on the question mark next to the text box when a character is speaking, it will show you that character's bio
Just a hunch, don't think she is going to see this comment
This is an interesting coincidence, I watched somebody's archived stream of this game lately and recalled back to when I read your blog talking about this game in years past, and then TH-cam recommended this video right here. I guess it's a small internet after all.
At least for people with the same spheres of interest.
love this ♡ you did an amazing job :)
Fuck...I'm not crying. Your face is crying *sobs*
This is excellent. Thank you
Bravo! A truly brilliant let's play!
Your Elodie is the most badass I have ever seen! Mine is...awful and dies so easily.
Funny story about the ball.
I was actually more prepared for that ball in my first playthrough than the next five after that, by sheer dumb luck!
Excellent for a first LetsPlay. Critisism: audio was clipping sometimes.
Request: VisualNovel /movie versions where you focus on the story, read all text including progress steps (plus voice acting if you can do that), and remove all game mechanics, background decision processes and their explanations.
Once you give the game a decent chance, you realize that while it has its faults and disadvantages, it's actually a lot of fun, and can be quite complex.
This seems to be a very cute and fun game! 😍 It also seems to put you in the shoes of a world leader, in particular a monarch. I know that the institution of monarchy seems outdated these days, but from what I seen in the documentaries, monarchies have the more interesting stories! All things considered, Long Live the Queen looks like a game I could really get into! I love it! ❤😍😄😍❤
It is, but how gay am I for liking it, lol?
This is a really interesting game. It looks like the story tree is pretty deep with a lot of branching consequences. I was kind of impressed how the game tracked your relations with all the different nobles, going so far as to remember who got snubbed and who you reconciled with. It's a little odd how that game lets you make very dissonant choices in the same run. It seems thematically strange to be responsible for assassinating someone, and then essentially convince someone to quit a war by morally browbeating them in the same game.
Anyone here in 2019? Just me? Ok
I'm here as well
I've never beaten this so I wanted to see the endings.
I raised my magic to the max, so my ending sort of included killing the man xD erm...cute angel picture, good idea on saving him m'hm, but I liked mine, too! All the children got back to playing with dolls and wishing to be magical princes and princesses *W* Btw, the purple haired Lumen is actually dating the priestess . w . .. Did not know that xD
Really good LP, definitely gonna watch it all
Lovely walkthrough, thanks for posting :) only tip would be that you don't need to recap after a video cut for our benefit if it's going into the same video anyway, we are all following what's been happening. :)
i love that game, i found in that game the most lovable irony if you want the perfect game and ending you have to failed some check my OCD did go crazy
Hands up if Tv Tropes brought you here. But I'm also curious as I've never seen a VN LP'd before.
This is a really cool lat's play and an awesome one for you're 1st one I should be sleeping but this story has pulled me in. I'm not got at playing and would not have the patience to play myself so thank you
Thank you, that was a very nice walkthrough. l enjoyed it very much.
I wish totalbiscuit got to the invasion part in his let's play.
Lovely video, you have a nice voice for let's plays.
Yeah....I sort of entrapped myself into a betrothal on my last play-through.
Elodie didn't have Court Manners up to snuff when the Duke of Sedan's Necklace came in and I was stuck wearing it during the discussions with Brin, and used it to bluff an alliance with his country (Court Manners WERE up to Snuff by then), getting Brin to back down. Of course then we found out that Elodie very nearly started a war with that country, all from being too clever by half.
He was very nice about the whole thing, even as he made it clear that he considered Elodie a little girl who was getting in over her head.
However....
1:48:00 "He is one of the most powerful Magicians alive..."
AND I KICKED HIS ASS, SAVED THE DAMN COUNTRY, AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE PRIESTESS AND THE DUCHESS OF URSUL'S LESBIAN RELATIONSHIP AFTER I MADE IT OKAY FOR THEM TO BE OPEN ABOUT THEIR OTHER SECRET-BECAUSE THANKS TO ME, LUMENS ARE SUPERHEROES NOW, BABY!
I don't know why but I enjoy this game
I wish we had a choice to go lesbian and marry Brin.
Well it makes sense thought. I mean..for back then.(not to insult you or anything) but it wouldn't be realistic for that time period.
Peachswirlm Alex No offence taken at all (as I'm not lesbian). You are correct that it wouldn't make sense but it would still be fun just because.
Peachswirlm Alex But there is an ending where you can be with Brin, albeit indirectly There are also endings with Briony and Alice.
Aleesha C. How do you get this ending with Brin? Do you know?
Nichole Quinn I'm a bit shaky with the details xD But not forcing Brin to marry or killing her (obviously) and then dancing with someone scandalous (her) at the gala gives you a good chance then accept her flowers she sends you I think the next week. Then if you aren't betrothed at the end of the game you get the option to marry Banion but Brin says that you can see each other through this marriage and you get a special ending involving the three of them.
i followed this walk-through, and i did one small change, and it didn't effect the ending. The event, where you decide where to send the young child after his relative dies, in the middle of the game, you sent him to his grandfather, and he gets killed in the end, i sent him to our uncle, since i knew that results in him staying alive and actually being happy, and thankfully it didn't change the ending, just 1 mood variable, which altered a bit my numbers in the end, but that was it. but this game i quite interesting. I now want to see if i can get some war type ending, or manipulator of some sort hue hue hue >.<
ou and i didn't had the border raid.
Thankyou so much for this walkthrough it really helped alot.
i sang because singing is awesome. and i got the angel ending so yay
Thank you for making a walkthrough for this I wanted to ask if you downloaded this game from steam or from the hanako games site
Zachary Coronado She mentions steam achievements in later vids so I'd say steam
+Aleesha C. oh okay thank you
You're funny. x3 The sailor moon thing made me choke on my sandwich. Hahaha.
We both said OH THANKS DAD and there poison together I laughed so hardi
This game is just one giant moral grey area. You can't please everyone and everything seems to have some adverse effect that you can't always foresee. In all the game seems to put you in the corner to make decisions that will have the least amount of guilt for you.
Loved your LP of this. Can we expect more content in the near future from you? :)
I have one going up today (2/2/14), with the full walkthrough posted on Tuesday. :) Kraken Ending this time.
In the case of Arisse, the Duchess of Lillah, it really doesn't sound plausible for Elodie to send assassins. Compared to the merciful choices she made beforehand, and the preference of getting the full picture, wouldn't waiting for information be better and more realistic? Unless that choice meant civil war was inevitable, I don't see her going for the most morally ambiguous (or clear cut evil?) option, regardless of expediency.
Man you are great at this :D
I think you can be a proffesional Lets player if you really want to. Like Dodger!
I loved this XD
watched it all the way through. :3
Evil Genius Elodie is the best, just look at the monocle god
Wait. *That’s* why My Country ‘Tis of Thee is playing?
