[Part 36] Sword of Heaven & Earth - Ch25. How Jeff Got His Groove Back

- Sword of Heaven & Earth (often abbreviated as SoHaE/SOHAE), is an FE7J hack by 38%. This is a [complete] hack released in Japan in 2016, taking place in the world of Elibe. Meant to be thought of as a parallel universe using Elibe as a backdrop, this game follows the story of Saya as she starts out her journey in Sacae. The hack has a very traditional FE feel to it, and I'm excited to show this off and preserve through this LP.

What a weird day, I had some nightmare where Jeff died due to lack of attention. He must've been fighting at dusk, poor guy.
What was going through 38%'s mind was probably more "man I wish I could add Ishtar to this map to make these three bosses feel complete."
This map feels like it’s designed around you having several more Gim-tier “javelin, forest, end turn” units. I’m not sure where you’d get those, though. Maybe Bruno? But the Valkyrie boss and the Runesword shred him...
Savestates! Is it cheating? Depends, maybe the creator had savestates in mind because "well they aren't going to be playing this on a console, they have the tools to reverse their mistakes, why not let them use them?"
Damn, old hacks really predicted IS's design strategy in the later games. This is a Turnwheel Moment.
Not much to say about the actual dialogue. Saya and Renault have a discussion on how these morphs are different from the old ones: Mainly, how their sense of loyalty to their creator feels more genuine, like actual family, and not just the "yes master" kind of way the old morphs did. Perhaps it's because they were created by another morph?
Because let's be honest, Xenon is 100% another Morph. We're fighting him next.
yeah i feel like the older hacks assumed save states and baked it into design a lot more, versus newer hacks that try to be better to play as if you were on hardware. Def a bigger fan of the latter - IS continues to steal from romhacks, and sometimes, the bad things!
I wonder if it's just me, or that Warriors are superior.
