    The only Norwegians we need to know about are Ronald & Mads. They have taught us about frozen pizza, meat in a tube, and Matpakke. We know how to interview for a job in Norway, understand art, and visit nature. What can be better than that?

    If I may please, I can come up with the following important figures (both contemporary and historical), more as a list (not a top) of most famous Norwegians of all times, not necessarily the most influential Norwegian in the world at this time (but most likely the respective Norwegian would be the first on the following list, on par with the King of Norway for me, that is):
    1) Jens Stoltenberg (ex-Prime Minister of Norway and current Secretary General of NATO);
    2) Morten Harket (frontman of great Norwegian pop-rock band a-ha, one of my all time most favourite bands);
    3) Thor Heyerdahl (great writer);
    4) Marius Eriksen Jr. (great skier);
    5) Erik the Red (great traditional Viking, also an Icelander);
    6) Leif Erikson (another great traditional Viking, also an Icelander);
    7) Gudrid Thorbjarnardóttir (Viking Age female explorer, also Icelandic);
    8) Thorfinn Karlsefni (Viking Age explorer, also Icelander);
    9) Edvar Grieg (great classical music composer);
    10) Edvar Munch (fascinating and great painter);
    11) Henrik Ibsen (great playwright);
    12) Knut Hamsun (Nobel Prize recipient in literature and well known writer);
    13) Erlend Øye (great musician);
    14) Jan Garbarek (great musician who is also partly of Polish descent);
    15) Aurora (great female musician);
    16) Todd Terje (another great musician).
    17) Roald Amudsen (great explorer);
    18) Fridtjof Nansen (great explorer);
    19) King Harald Fairhair (the first King of Norway, who was sort of a tax tyrant to some Norwegians who subsequently settled Iceland and the Faroe Islands in opposition to him, but not such a bad guy because he also treated his loyal subjects right);
    20) Harald V (the current King of Norway who is of English descent).
    The list above includes some of my all time most favourite Norwegian musicians, but, of course, it can be bigger. These are (and some were) really great men and women in history! All the best and plenty of success with your channel! 😊

    I haven’t heard of any of them. But of the three on the list, you both have good points. Regarding the power of influence in global happenings, Mads has a point with the politician, although I do think large corporations have the say in that area.
    But most people in the world will know the football guy (I don’t care for football, so never heard of him), so you can’t underestimate the power that gives him with regard to the general public, so Ronald has a good point there, and I agree with him. Younger people care more about football/soccer than politics.
    In any case, in my life, Ronald and Mads are currently the most influential Norwegians. ❤

    Yea, yea, yea. Politics, schmolitics. Don't you know that there is a tie between two guys that you did not name? The most influential Norwegians in the world are Ronald and Mads. Hands down, no other suggestions, no acceptable excuses. To thine own self be true. Follow your heart. I know they influence me. Follow Ronald and Mads YOURWAY2NORWAY❤️

    So, Mads, where is Ronald? Has he entered a witness protection program? Suffered food poisoning from a bad matpakke or bad sardines ? Was he venturing into Norwegian waters and attacked by a psychotic Cod fish? Did he injure himself while crawling up icy walkways and fall into a waterway headed for open ocean?
    Perhaps he's buried under a mountain of paperwork at his office which has also been involved in a landslide? He's not been attacked by a historical forest creature while at the cabin, I hope?
    Maybe Norway's abundance of electric vehicle chargers has caused him to trip and injure himself?
    Or, has he escaped to Portugal for a large mixed drink with a paper umbrella?
    I see your abbreviated FB posts have been "solo" for some time.
    Are you two on seasonal hiatus? Inquiring minds want to know!
    Hugs to you both.💖

    Jens is a puppet. The most influential Norwegians are of course our heroes from a-ha, who with their music have influenced, enriched and even saved the lives of thousands of people around the world for decades. Go listen to what the fans are telling - and there are many of them, especially in South America and Europe.
    Today their new album is out, btw. Wonderful, magical and beautiful music for people of all ages.

    Yes...soccer. Soccer might be the fifth or sixth most popular sport in America...but there are still lots of fans. My quick google search says something like 30 million people consider themselves fans in America. That's the poulation size of 5 or 6 Norways.
