    I love your channel! I knit continental mostly so I had a hard time thinking about how to transfer the techniques. But I do know English so I can switch to English for a few rows. I have never seen anyone knit as fast as you using English knitting! Well done!

      Once you’ve finished knitting you sew in the ends, which is another video, here:

    Hi Hannah! Hope you’re keeping well with quarantine, I absolutely love your channel!! I’m only 16 and started knitting maybe a year and a half ago just as a pas time but due to corona, as sad as it is, it’s been perfect for me to take my knitting a bit more seriously to keep me sane!! and your videos are helping me greatly, so thanks x

      Thanks, Ellie! so glad to know these videos are helping. Knitting is certainly something that can help pass the time while we're indoors more. It feels like winter to me in a way, knitting comes out of the cupboard then as we cosy indoors with darker evenings. Keep in touch with how you get on! Happy knitting.

    Hi Hannah,
    I am in the process of knitting a sweater and need to add a new ball in the same color. It is knitted from the neck down flat , cast on stitches across the front, and then joined in the round for the body. You do have to pick up stitches around the neckline and knit the ribbing. Because the beginning of the row is along the neckline, should I use method #1?
    Thank you for your wonderful videos!

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d change yarn at row end near the neck, then nice you’re under arms change at where the seam would be, so it’s hidden. Happy knitting 🧶

    • @KnitWithHannah

      I’d go in a couple of stitches and join there, then weave in later. Happy knitting 🧶

  • @SharonH1968
    @SharonH1968 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I tend to join on the edge and leave nice long ends for sewing up if I’m knitting a garment. I have used the weave as you go but really don’t like it especially on thicker yarns

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those end are really useful for sewing the seams, for sure!

  • @jolawton9626
    @jolawton9626 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I normally use the first one or a magic knot. I do like the look of that weaving as you go one though.

    Hello! I had to join new yarn when purling & completely messed it up because I have no idea how to do that. Can you tell me how to join yarn when purling? I didn’t know if the old yarn tail should stay in the front or move it to the back. Thank you!

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s a lot easier to settle the yarn join where you want it on the next row. So join the yarn, as you’re purling, then move the yarn ends from the join to whichever is the ‘wrong side’ of the knitting as you knit across the following row and knit the pair of stitches next to the join.

    Thank you 💕

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Either really. If you're using the same colour all the way through the blanket I'd say a couple of stitches after. If you're striping, I change at the edge: th-cam.com/video/BQYE9mUHzb4/w-d-xo.html Happy knitting 🧶

    Is there a particular way that works best when knitting in the round? The hat I'm making takes more than 1 ball of wool so I know I'll have to swap at some point. It's also got cabling to add into the mix 🤦🏼‍♀️

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually make sure I'm changing yarn at round end/beginning, so that the yarn changes are always in one place, but no, it doesn't matter which one you use. happy knitting🧶

    Hi Hannah - I have used the first method but always get a big loop stitch where the join is - can you suggest anything
    Thanks - love your vids xx

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Best option is to do that few stitches and then stop and tie the two ends together while slightly tightening the stitches you can also weave the ends in after only a few rows so they’re not hanging loose for too long. Also try the other methods see if they use better for you.

    How do you add a ball of yarn when using double yarn? Do you add them at the same time?

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can choose for yourself, if one ball ends a few rows before the other you can change them separately. It won't feel any different as you continue knitting. And if you go for that method the ends will be woven in separately so won't show so much. happy knitting! 😍
