- We're at a Cadwell Park Trackday with Opentrack in my 992 GT3, Jay in the BMW E30, and James in the GR Yaris for some hard lappin!

That low front mount gopro on the GT3 is great! Really shows the speed and drift angle of the cars ahead.
Nice save on the Renault wheel, that could have been a nasty accident if it came off going faster
Love seeing the e30 suspension working and J balancing the slide with the view from the chase cam, would be interesting to see how your e30 compares to J’s from the same angle with all its upgrades.
I think that Phil's e30 would be more planted, but to find out would involve the DCT working for more than 5 minutes without suffering some sort of failure, so you may not get to find out any time soon 🤣😂

The E30 is beautiful. Well done to the fella who put that together and furthermore, the driving was smooth. The GT3 looked really stable, quick and the driving skills on the track was excellent. The GR was interesting and very quick... again, smooth driving. Seems like a good crew to go tracking.

That one is an Atom 4 - 350bhp and 590kg with a sequential box 👌

Fantastic video and great camera view from the the front of your GT3 just shows how the track is. With the corners, up and down hill and how other car react on track. Please done more next time 👍💯

@@driftworks thanks, it's gone from skid car to grip car and I don't think it knows what's going on 😅 it was about 1:40 into this th-cam.com/video/D5pl40BIB3o/w-d-xo.html, my cameras too high so it's not brilliant, I'm new to this video lark, the camera doesn't do justice to how quickly you vanished, was awesome. I just needed Jay to check my wheels nuts too that day. Hopefully catch you in the BMW when you're at cadwell next

Haha, I did think about dubbing in an F1 car sound. It's sound does not match the drama you see on the outside with him chucking it about.

Jay is a MANIAC in his E30. What a RIPPER!! I could watch your GT3 front bumper cam all day!
Love the camera on the front of the GT3. With a few tweaks future footage like that could be made to look very natural/cinematic. What you need to do is fit an ND filter lens and set the shutter speed to 2 x FPS if hyper smooth stabilisation is switched off and 4 x FPS if hyper smooth stabilization if its switched on. So for 4K/60fps with hyper smooth stabilisation switched on set the shutter speed to 240. This will introduce natural motion blur and limit over exposer (bright sky!). He is an example from my GoPro 10 @ 4K/60fps/240 shutter/hyper smooth on/ ND8 lens filter/min ISO 100/max ISO 400 - th-cam.com/video/2E4D5lmeyuk/w-d-xo.html (make sure TH-cam quality is HD or 4K if laptop/computer can handle it) .👍
Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can try that. Is that specific to a particular GoPro. Mines an 8 I think.
@@driftworks Should work fine with the GoPro 8. PolarPro Shutter Collection ND filters are available on Amazon for the GoPro 8. Only issue is the camera won't fit in a case if you use one. Those overlay the existing GoPro 8 lens where as with the GoPro 9 and 10 you can swap out the entire lens out with an ND filter lens. You get three in the pack ND8, ND16 and ND32. I would try ND8 with a cloudy sky and ND16 with no clouds and not sure if I would use the ND32. Just remember to fix the shutter speed as well and do some test first. Your also find plenty of TH-cam videos talking about ND filters and settings. The hyper smooth stabilisation is actually in conflict when using ND filters but fixing the shutter speed at 4 x FPS instead of the standard 2 X FPS seems to allow them to work together ok as seen on my own videos. Also set min ISO to 100 and max ISO to 400👍

@@Brother-Crow Nothing wrong with a m20b25 and some cams. Mines been s50b32 swapped and walks over most due to the power to weight at the track, but a well setup m20b25 with the right suspension mods will hang with modern stuff all day long on a twisty track due to the way the cars geometry is and lack of weight.
Jay's has a s54 swap so is a rocket
Wow the GT3 sounds incredible. Despite having watched a lot of videos on them hearing it properly wrung out on track is something else.
That makes no sense that the front mounted camera would pick up such clear engine noise.. weird. That’s the camera I used to use when getting very serious on forza 😂. Stunning cars Phil and Jay and nice driving you lot. Also Jesus that Atom gets out of the corners well!!!
I remember playing this track in TOCA 2. What a gem and not easy, especially in rain.
Looks like fun. I like being in run groups where everyone is doing roughly the same speed as me though. Watching you pass those compacts was making me nervous.

One of the best track vids you've put on TH-cam, what a great day! Jay's BMW looks fun, it may need a gearbox/engine mounts though😂
That's the one weird thing about that shifter setup. It's a body mount pivot. The original mechanism is gearbox mounted I think. Engine movement is magnified by the pivot location.
The gearbox also has a slightly oval hole where the bush mounts so until the gearbox dies and I can change the shaft this is how it is.

Only done Cadwell once, being in Kent, but it made me Chuck up too.
Cadwell looks so fun compared to wider, yet flat tracks. It seems hard to learn to me because of the constant change in elevation, watching multiple laps in the vid and the 2nd to last corner catches me out as think it's the start/ finish straight.
You were all ripping but Most impressed with Jay for keeping up with the newer tech & more powerful cars. Good effort that man! And both the 993 & RX7 sound the tits with the Getaway is Stockholm style footage! (Showing my age now haha)
Front cam was so good, great to see how that Yaris rotates

Hey Phil, could you try a camera on the rear for a session next time? Would love to see how quickly the GT3 puts distance to the cars you pass, plus it should pick up the exhaust noise pretty well too 😁.

Driftworks- you are correct on the brake pads being a different compound and yes the fix is to just swap over to the 991 pads. I learned this on Adam Lz’s channel when he and a big Porsche club were on tail of the dragon.
The Yaris looked great in the last following vid, could really see it working hard in the esses, the porker sounds awesome but I still miss the E30s V8 bark
Phil, has your friend with the A45 checked to see if he has a cardiac condition like atrial fibrillation? Nausea on the come-down from elevated heart rates isn't unheard of with that.
that's weird that he was being sick after the Mercedes drive, a long time ago i went on a test day in Munich to test the RS3 Vs the A45 AMG & the Audi was fine but the Merc made me feel sick with every lap ! there was so much roll !... I've been on Neuburg in R8's & the Nurburgring on an HP4 and never since experienced anything like it !

Think he did a full going over when he bought it, but it looks very capable so he may of upgraded some bits. Tires etc
It has a set of BC coilovers and AR1 tyres. It’s a very basic car.

Are you using a JCR porsche go pro towing eye for outside footage?
The A45 looks a little floaty in the back end.
I just double sided tape a mount to the bumper and use a cable tie through the grill as it's secondary security if it were to fall off.

When you're out following the A45, do you guys have a chat before hand that you're just going to follow the whole time so the A45 can just go do its thing and not worry about you trying to do any overtakes? Cos I'd imagine having that GT3 practically in the boot going round that track at those speeds could make the A45 pretty nervous otherwise.
It's just normal trackday etiquette with a bit of added trust as we're friends.

You should put steel break instead of the carbon one, Shure they dont break as well but they costs way less
PCCB are the dream on a road car for occasional track use. I use steel Alcons on my E30 M3 dedicated track car though.
The GT3 is awesome no doubt, but Jay's E30 is Awesome in looks and nature... The GR is as expected, which isn't a bad thing.

Great to see Jay's E30 out and having fun... but is it just me, or does that gear lever look really loose?!
Btw... what's happening with the Mustang... we've not had an update in ages on that! Cheers guys!
The gear box has a bit of an oval hole where the linkage mounts its too much effort/ money to fix it while the gearbox still works. The lever being about 3m long makes it look worse.
The Mustang is about 4 jobs away from MOT. Other cars, time and money keep pusing it back.
