The simplest things can make the biggest difference on complicated cars. This is one of them. We're going a step further on Monday and we're relocating the oil temp sensor so it gives a more accurate reading.
Phil reference fitting seats to the Yaris, have a look a the Apex Nürburgring or Robert Mitchell's channels (he owns them). They have a GR Yaris and have custom subframes to drop the seats down enough for wearing helmets. They also have a half cage installed.
This reminds me of the group of guys at Gridlife that I do lapping days with , Just a bunch of people out to have a good time while roasting each other

@@driftworks The elevation changes, the tight turns, the small track width, it looks DIVINE! Only thing we have close to here in OZ is Go Kart tracks that occasionally let us use them, but even they dont have the elevation that this does. Absolutely Unreal! As you guys do so many track days, what do you think about doing guides to the different tracks? How to drive them, racing lines, tricky or individual tips for each track kinda thing? Can use footage that you already have & would be mega useful for us starting to do track days (especially cadwell)
We do a few, but we're still very much amatuers still. Just there for fun, so wouldn't feel qualified to tell people where to go or how to etc. This was my second time ever at Cadwell for example, I know my line through the back section is far from optimal.
Craigs mx5 and James Toyota are so fast it’s funny looking but I must say Phil your e30 must be so intimidating seeing that coming up in the rear view mirror
Damn, I have never seen a yaris handle like that. I assume it has the circuit pack with The JTEKT clutch pack + Torsen diffs. Evidently they work very well.

What was more impressive that’s only 7 psi low boost and only had 4th gear , lost the clutch ( hence run onto grass ) , i was doing the whole track in one gear !! So flexible .
DW30 = Too quick + Too much presence + Too much awesome Seriously though, I would sh*t myself if I saw DW30 pop up in my rear view. I imagine the DW30 ownership experience is like walking around with a 13 inch knob.
@@driftworks I kinda hoped that the expert or long press (TC fully, fully off) modes would stop it, but nope 🤦🏻♂️. It’s bloody distracting when you’re trying to set yourself up for a corner entry.

@@driftworks Lets put it this way. all the new toyota yaris models are under 28k. NEW. correction, i lied a little bit. those GR yaris models are here around 55k. not 60k, remembered wrong, but still. twice the price. and price is listed in finland

Your e30 is a work of art. Combining my two favorite m3 models to one epic machine. Can only dream of owning one of these machines.
I think when companies start doing development on the gr it’s going to be a hard platform to beat. It looks like a proper tool standard 👌👌👌

The GR Yaris has got to be the successor of the pulsar GTI-R. Small Japanese commuter car but with AWD and a turbo so it’s a little rocket
I don't think that's doing the Yaris enough justice. The Pulsar was okay, but this is really special.

Have you altered the ratios in the E30 gearbox or is the DCT just like that? Ratio’s sound pure racecar, sounds mega 👍🏼
It has a lower final drive 👍
Could be lifted diff or different diff mounting

Not that I know of. It's just a thing on modern cars. Some of them leave the hazzards on which is way more annoying.
