Here’s what should be their top priorities: 1.) tackling drills 2.) tackling drills 3.) hydrate 4.) tackling drills If the offensive line finally has their act together, then the next chore is tackling. Oregon State was still able to play keep away in the first half, and when you play Ohio State who have Judkins and Henderson instead of Hankerson and and Griffin, they’re going to run it down Oregon’s throat. The Ducks played a great half of defense. That needs to be built upon.
I don’t think the run defense is as much of an issue as people say, if you go back and watch the film from Boise state the D line makes very few errors, and the few they do make turns into big plays because Jeanty is a monster, all the other plays they did an excellent job of breaking up the play before the line of scrimmage and keep the lanes closed, so going forward against lower quality backs for the rest of the year I think as they improve we will see a really effective run defense.
I really like to see 6 guys on the o-line for protection of QB. You two are my favorites-articulate and informative to the point that you can. Erik I'd love to see you push Dan in press conferences-we all know he hates to give anything away, but this tight-lipped answers, I think, is silly.
The only thing worse than TH-cam comments are the postgame comments on the Autzen shuttle ride back to your car. Football is an incredibly complex game, especially when you include the complexities of the game outside of actual game time. It's why I love the game though and listen to great sports journalism instead of fan pandering sports click-bait.
Jurrion is effectively having his actual freshman season this year, the off-season talk was more about how he’s got his body right. I don’t think we see him at all, but I do think next year he’ll be a major part of the offense.
Linebacker play on run defense is one of the biggest priorities. They’ve been great in coverage but need to improve on coming downhill and filling gaps on runs. This will is critical to win in the B1G… who should be our two starting linebackers headed into B1G Ten play?
I think they work Bedford into the lineup because they can’t afford not to. You can’t let a guy that talented sit until something like an injury causes a shift, you need him available and game ready. Also, nobody sees all the practices so we really don’t know how all of these players grade out week to week other than a few sneak peeks and actual games.
I think they put Harper or Strother in at left tackle, when they sub in, or start Bedford at RG. And when Iuli gets back from injury, they’ll have him at RG also. It’s less about who’s starting, and more about depth now that guys that are starting to get healthy…since we have multiple starters ready to play at the 2 deep.
I’m thinking those idiots throwing shade at Beotcher (sorry if I spelled that wrong) are some of the same disgruntled Beavers fans that want to end the Civil War bc they got their butts kicked and don’t want that to be the pre season story every year. Bryce was phenomenal in OSU game!
Good focus. The bottom line at this point is there is just the most recent game out of three and more specific the second half to be confident they can play like they should. And before Ohio State let's not overlook USC.
Oregon does not play USC. And those easy games against Purdue and UCLA might come back to hurt you in the tiebreaker to go to the title game. If several teams have only one loss, and they didn’t play head to head, the tiebreaker is winning percentage of Big 10 teams that you beat.
@@JasonSmith-th4ii My mistake and a gross one at that with USC. I don't overlook the weaker teams and from week one with Idaho, then Boise, then OSU have made that clear unlike most. Not sure why you seem fit to emphasize that and winning percentage/tie breaker stuff. But thanks anyway
Bye week ugh.....need to start doing what some SEC teams continues to do...how they're allowed to do their schedule ever year I have no ideal. Take Alabama this year. They're bye week is Nov 2nd. Then they play LSU on the 9th. Then the elephant in the room they play powerhouse Mercer Nov 16th. So ever year they get 2 bye weeks and they play the Mercers of the world late...EVER YEAR.
Too much armchair quarterbacking from spoiled fans who couldn't play a lick of football themselves. The coaching staff is talented and will figure it out.

Wait you forgot number 5. Tackling drills😂

BREAKING NEWS: "MCLAUGHLIN ADVOCATES SECOND SEGMENT SIP FOR OREGON FOOTBALL TEAM, NO COMMENT FROM LANNING"
My two main podcasts in one, can't beat that! Thank Spencer and Erik.
Glad you enjoy!
Love seeing this collab!
:)
Any game this year where the OLINE can hold long enough for an effective playaction, we will 🏆.

Hopefully we are the first part
Yet here you are commenting on a TH-cam video haha
Seems like Lanning is leaning just on the DL for pressuring the QB... I'd like to see more LB/DB pressure.

I agree. He spent a good chunk of time getting healthy and is now having to train himself into the system.
I hope he sticks around!
Wicked haircut Spencer. I,m jealous as I have little hair. Excellent content as usual. You are appreciated
Appreciate it!
Two of the best...GOAT 1a & GOAT 1b!!!
Sidlesssss What up? Hopefully the Ducks show up against Buckeyes!!!
🦆💪🏽🦆💪🏽🦆
How do I find the locked on big ten group talk? I want to hear you throw shots at Roman this week haha

We need to continue to get healthy and d line and linebacker play needs to improve.

Good morning gentlemen.
Morning! (Evening)
dissing Boettcher, you are under-selling him.
By saying he's been Oregon's best defensive player?
GO DUCKS!!!
Go Ducks!!!
Go Ducks!
Work on consistency and sustaining what they've been doing.
I'm torn between staying with what works and how good they could be with Bedard.
Is it just me or does Spencer remind you of Sid from Toy Story, especially with that haircut
The bye week is perfect right now.
Talking about this more tomorrow

JC is our left tackle. Harper doesn't play tackle
Conerly is not leaving LT spot barring an injury
💚💛🦆🦆
Can you talk about the return of Gary Bryant and where he falls in the lineup when he is healthy
Yes
Need to move number 90 on the defense to the center . He is an absolute wall and he would stop that push

Where’s Jurrion?!?
247 guys said he basically isn't playing up to his 5 star caliber, sounded like he hasn't put the work in to learn the routes.
He would be playing if they thought he would help the team. That is the bottom line.
Think it's a good bye week come off a strong win and give yourself time to identify the good and bad things you did in the previous games
“Let’s go home and play. Hahaha!”

They did not call you Sid bro looooool they wrong 😂

Maybe Bedford is not 100% yet???
Not sure
