Make sure all your connections are tight

I use the star washer I have used a crush washer with ark results lol cause you have to really tighten it down and lots of these fuse holders have the bolt incased in plastic on the underside so the amount of torque to smash a 5/16 split crush washer can split the bolt casing before it seat and if that slit is open it will arc. I use the star lock washers on fuse holders with great results and you are correct sir.

Eyelets copper eyelets would solve this. This same failure happens in A/C mains hook ups too. Bare wire to screw pinch terminals are a maintenance schedule clean and reconnect.

now that we know a loose bolt can cause the fuse holder to melt. will a loose bolt cause the sound system to lose voltage? im interested in knowing because my sound system currently has a melted fuse holder but the system still works i just dont know if im getting all the voltage or some of the voltage.

voltage only requires a TINY connection, but Current , now that requires meat. but yea get that melted stuff out and get a solid connection. unless you want to roast marshmellows...

You spend that much money on amps etc. and you don’t have a respectable rms clamp meter? Learn to measure amps and voltage across input and output and you’ll know what your system is getting and what it’s producing.

      1. this fuse isnt from my system. 2. amps had NOTHING to do with it failing. @@dirtyaznstyle4156

@@CarAudioEnthusiasts well that was more a reply to the OP’s question, but without amperage you get no heat.

Even if it is a solid connection on power wires on fuses of any type it will still melts. The main issue is HARD CLIPPING because something have to gave the amps power MOSFETS sub or fuse melting
