Good old Goldcrest. Reminds me of the days of fs17 when the greens and reds weren't so bright that they nearly cause your eyes to bleed or when the shadows weren't pitch black and everything didn't look like plastic.
I've heard a lot about this map since the start of FS22, a few people saying they couldn't wait for Goldcrest to return. So the moment I saw it on modhub, I immediately installed it and started playing. I like it. The only thing I don't like is the traffic that drives at 80mph! You get hit by one of those maniacs and you're potentially in for a bad day 🤣🙃 Guess it makes it more realistic. Great tour, which I guess is a "duh", but still gotta say it. Much appreciated.
To much is changed the fs 17 is the best version that should of been brought over with minor changes. Ye this is a cheap knock off it's not gold crest modder changed way to much .
Great review as per usual. I would love to see Ravenport brought over. I love that map and spent a lot of hours on it. Its good to hear your feeling a lot better. Stay safe.
Not a fan of the changes to this map. The dual train setup is gone (which isn't possible anymore due to renting the train now), all the buildings are just stock fs22 assets, with the same buildings placed everywhere (nothing looks remotely similar to the original, especially the shopping/residential area), the starting equipment in New farmer mode (if it was a true remake, they'd have kept the original equipment by bundling other mods with the map like the Case tractors and harvester), the silo being not just the wrong shape but also in the wrong spot, along with the straw/bale sell barn is supposed to be the big red barn on the farm, not the one down the road. All in all, even the fs19 re-release is a much better map than Goldcrest Valley 22. Luckily, there's another Goldcrest Valley map in testing right now. Hopefully that one is more accurate to the original.
Amazing how much a train can effect a map, but it was a key part of doing the forestry on the east side of the map. Shame it's changed for the worst but looks like giants are having issues with forestry in 22. Not sure loading trains with cranes would be possible with the state of logs atm.
@@funster73mcr2 You know, that's something I haven't seen yet in fs22, big loading crane structures. I know it was the main focus on the Spectacle Island map from fs19, too. But, I agree. Really hope Giants can get a handle on logging. It's kinda difficult to get a good load of logs in a trailer when there's a significant gap between each log. Not to mention the invisible branches on the Elm trees, and just the odd weight calculation for individual logs.

Thanks for another quality map tour Mr Sealy P... I'm really enjoying having this map on 22 having played it on other farm sims. Few issues that need an update but it's still good to play as is, just means I'm not getting fully into it just yet as will start a new save when that comes along!
Yeah, that's why I'm just playing with money cheat signs etc, just getting to know the map etc. But yeah, I also have a feeling that the update will require a new save game
Its not the original should be entitled goldcrest valley different version. It's not the true gold crest to many changes .the original gold crest was way better. Stuff missing that should be in place and also you can't by all the land on the map. It's possible to make this map original minor changes and it still be the original gold crest valley but for 22. Ye I hope the original comes out.

I'm hoping that either this one gets some major updates , or another modder makes a better version. Like people have said before this one feels rushed. I'm enjoying it for now, but would like to see some improvements thats for sure!
Great map tour everything is laid out really well, I like the fact there is plenty of space and not all cramped up, nice that you have quite a range of field sizes, will definitely be downloading.
It is a great map. Not to mention I have bought the periphery of the map which includes the town area. Definitely my go to FS map. Great tour as well Sealy P.
Back on fs17 I had this as my main farm I even made a ton of edits to it like moving the bail sell point up to Mary's plus a bunch of other stuff I had used giants editor
On gold crest valley the place where you sell planks of wood needs an update the one gas station needs an update on all this is just grass in town there's a lamp post that floats in the air which also needs an update so please let them know thank you
I love this map but have found a couple bugs in it. You can't sell the big red barn at the main farm and the jenz wood chipper has lost its pipe out option. Have no problems with it on any map apart from this one. Apart from that, this is my new fave map. Just wish I could lose that barn
God this map brings back memories for me too......must have had 100s and 100s of hrs racked up on it..... cutting loads of tress to make and join some fields up AND 1500 cows.... that was some effort!! So great review but doubt I'll go back to it 😪😁
Mr P. I started playing this map last night and love it... but I noticed the animal husbandry is extended. Is this something that can be done on all maps with all animal pins?
In farm simulator 22 in westbridge hills I'm having trouble with my harvesting I harvested a field and I carried it where they said to carry it but it gave me all the money and I'm still owing 80% on the field and I don't know what to do about it
I gave this a go today, at the moment FS19 puts FS22 to shame when it comes to this map, the first field up to the silo gave a problem whilst trying to seed it, the AI guy must have nodded off because it just would not start down hill from the silo, I had to start where I used to start at the bottom up to the silo and even then I had to start it off then press the circle button for the AI to kick in. Then on the next field that heads towards the train station silo that is just over the top, I put the AI into action using the plow, all went well until it got to just over half way across then it stopped a short way from the bottom, skipped a lane and began going up the field again, I didn’t see why it did this as I was working on the next field cutting some trees down, once I plowed the missed lane and 3/4, I watched the AI seeding the same field and low and behold, the seeder froze at exactly the same spot, I had to manually seed the field a little way then press the circle button to kick the AI in to action, I remember having this problem in the early days on the same fields in FS19 but they put it right, I sure hope they put it right again because this farm was one of my fav’s too.
Wonderful wonderful map tour again time to get rid of Michigan and download gold crest valley once again it's about time they bring out a great American map a classic in my view and you are right the subtle changes makes it all grown up and another great constant episode as well keep up the brilliant content see you on the next one
This map is poorly done it's not even close to what gold rest is. Mountains we're rounded off to hills at parts the hog farm was wiped out had to clear the area where it should be and re paint. Still taking out trees where they don't belong. The paint on bridges was changed from red and the hay sell point was changed to the location where the grain place should be trains are first parked at the tracks was taken out of that area. The cow barn area is awful don't like the new look the field that's 1 filed was put into 3 parts. It's really 1 big field and you should be able to by that big field and cow barn area as being separate it's just not gold crest. I tried to re lay down the correct way fence should be at sheep place but you can't take out the fence they put down. The trees and wolds area over by the sheep area be that field were removed. I can go on and on why this map is just not gold crest. Map should be exact to what gold crest was with minor changes to being fs 22 then let the players put it as they like. Ye this map was poorly done if you no what goldcrest valley should be. Some may like it but not gold crest to me just awful.

there is a warehouse for bales and pallets in the silos. even though it accepts bales of cotton, there is no point in collecting them. there is a collision of structures. I consider this a big minus of this map.
MrSealyp since there is 2 goldcrest maps on the modhub, you should do a comparison between the two maps. By the way love the map tour videos and a question, do you ever thought about making a mod map? Ben
Have played this map for several hours yesterday and I can't get the workers to go anywhere they work in the field as good as they normally do but to go to or fieldwork says target unreachable or blocked. Just wondering if anyone else has an issue.
This was done terrible its not gold crest! This is a map from 2017 I can go on and on about changes that make it not goldrest! The rail is missing where the grain place should be and track! Hog farm got wiped out gotta chop a hundred trees down to fix it but then you can't fix everything. No this isn't gold crest! On 19 I could get close to the right version but this is an insult to gold crest. I hope another modder puts the original version on cause if you bring a map over you should let the players change what they would like. This has way to much changed the red bridges are green the road to the pig farm is not the correct way. I don't like this version of what was gold rest. Just wow terrible.

The part where the floating cars are or were if the map has been updated sense was a train station and a parking lot on a raised platform

So many of the old style contracts done on this map, I'll have to return. Didn't like the 19 version, but this looks better than that already.

Great map, the edited red barn on the home farm thats glitched and you can’t sell ruins it for me though.
