You guys are so capturing the feel of being at Liberty Harbor. You can't help but get caught up in the hustle and bustle of NYC - especially with the constant drone of helicopters overhead... And the best part? No need to drive anywhere...
My daughter lives there and works in Manhattan, which is like having your own tour guide! So much to see just in that small area and best places to eat and she knows some of the cheaper places to eat lol
Guys! What an awesome job you did with this! The storytelling was top-notch - I really felt like we experienced the day. And there were so so many emphasis points between the music (choice, volume, timing) and the B reel footage. I always enjoy your videos but I feel like the editing on this one was extra wonderful. Really well done! 👏
Ahhhh thanks Carmen! We were kinda rushed as we recorded this because we were so tight on time! So I only had our one main camera, which isn’t the best for walking and talking for stabilization. But the scenery was so perfect for the views! I had a fun time editing this one! Thanks so much!!
I have been working with Chris for 6 months now. I have more energy and drive. The program is easy to follow, with no daunting calorie counter to fill out. I find that I feel so much better and my clothes fit great. I am wearing clothes that I have not been able to wear for years. She is so easy to work with and always gets back with me in a timley manner when I have questions, if there is an exercise that I am unable to do she will find an alternative exercise. I just cannot say enough about her coaching style and the wonderful difference it has made in my life!!! I was unsure about the commitment but took a leap of faith and have been greatly rewarded
We were there in July. My wife got tickets for the pedestal, great views. Ellis island is well worth the stop. The stories they highlight are amazing, especially for people whose ancestors came through there. Safe travels
Great start to your NYC adventure. Gotta love that place without a doubt. Looks like you enjoyed your evening meal. That was one thing that we certainly enjoyed when we stayed there as well. Great to have a number of very nice spots to dine all within easy walking distance to the RV park. Continued safe travels...
We were very pleasantly surprised how nice Jersey City was and the walkable neighborhoods and restaurants. I read a lot of people saying the surrounding area of the RV park was not very nice!
Having been to Ellis Island and not the island with the statue, I think you chose well for what you had time for. Ellis will take several hours to do properly, in my opinion.
The museum there at Liberty Harbor state park where you got the ferry is really interesting. You walked by all the coverings where the trains used to load and unload passengers and inside the old terminal is quite interesting.
Hope you enjoyed Downtown Jersey City! It's one of my home towns, lived there for over 30 hrs. Everything is expensive, but it's well developed! Hope you enjoyed the pedestrian walkway with evening music!! Enjoy!!
Glad you enjoyed it, but I can't spend time in any city. I love trees meadows mountains and no traffic and once in a while the beach. I gather the next stop is CT.
Great video and it’s always great to watch these videos. Aaron, why were you so nervous when Chris was doing the driving? Hope you’re having a great time it sure looks that way. My father’s parents came through Ellis Island from Poland. Man that food looked amazing and I bet it was.
Another great video. Thanks for taking us with you. Laughed about the New Yorkers getting to the point. Have great friends that ramble on and on and then say make a long story short. I correct them and say short story long. We all have our quirks. You guys rock!
Both sides of my family came into the US through Ellis Island. My dad was German and my mom was Norwegian. Years ago I was able to find my German side records, but not my Norwegian side.
Many moons ago, my Dad took the family to Liberty Island. We climbed the Statue and not only did we get to the crown, but into the torch as well….you had great weather…❤
@@elizabethlarose3632 you have confused the spiral staircase that goes into the crown for going to the torch. To access the torch it is a small ladder. The torch ladder has been closed to the public since July 30, 1916. When I was there in 1988 you could see the ladder but no access.
We always park at a family member's house on Long Island, and take the LIRR to the city. I wouldn't even attempt to find a camp spot close to the city. You guys are brave.
Thanks for the video. My wife really wants to go to that campground. I’m not a fan of the tolls and traffic in that area. I lived near there for two years long ago. As to visiting the crown; my father, brother and I did in 1990. Waste of time for most people in my estimation; our heads were inches from someone else’s butt for an hour going up a spiral stair case one slow step at a time only to spend 20 seconds looking out the crown’s distorted windows. Took some photos and went back down. Funny but I’ve seen a lot of this world in my life and I still regret that waste of my time 34 years later. 😂
I’m taking 2 of the granddaughters (11 & 12) to Manhattan in November. We have tickets to the One World Trade Center Observatory. We’re staying just across the Hudson River in NJ. The bus to Port Authority is only $2.50
Funny, we took PATH over to the city and then took ferry from Battery Park side and it went to Statue of Liberty first and then picked us up to go to Ellis Island. (they confiscated my little pocket tool because it had a little knife in it!)
Our main camera is the Sony A7c. This lens was the Sigma 24-70 2.8. I also use the Sony 20mm 1.8 and the Sony G 16-35 2.8 at times. Not in this vlog, but lately Ive been using the little DJI pocket 3 for nice stabilized footage when out and about! 😊
Love your videos - but begging you to stop with the ‘New Jersey City’. Lifelong resident of NY/NJ region and I can’t help but cringe when you say that. No such place. You’re camping in ‘Jersey City’.. Not to be confused with West New York - just up the coastline a bit.
Thanks! Im happy to report I now call it Jersey City. 🤣 But, I can't promise I don't say it wrong a few more times as this was recorded a couple months ago. Just part of the learning curve as we travel the county full-time exploring new places. 😊
Thank you! We used to live in Washington DC and tourists would always come up to you on the Metro asking how to get to the National Mall. You could see it in their eyes they were expecting to find a food court when they got there. This is like that.

Everyone Chris is an amazing coach . She can help you make life changing habits. Its so worth it to work with her.
I’ve lived on Long Island for 20 years and the same energy you guys get from visiting the city is what I feel every time. What a great video!
Liberty Island, nice! I haven't been there since 1973. I don't remember the museum being there back then. Thanks for the quick tour.

Thanks! I was so nervous because most of the route planing and research falls on me and overall I feel responsible to get us all there safe. 👍
When we went into the Ellis Island Museum, they had a display of left-behind immigrant suitcases. and some of them were open showing the contents.
Just when I thought the video couldn’t get any better, that food at the end put it over the top !!
Great video! Thanks for sharing! We were reminiscing about our visit!
Thanks!! NYC is the best!

I hope that you had the opportunity of taken the Mount Washington boat around the big lake in New Hampshire. It is a must do.

One of the most memorable visits was in 1974 when I climbed to the crown of the Statue and took pictures from the windows. I was a wow moment.
That would be too cool! I really wanted to go up!

I GOT TO GO TO THE MIDDLE WINDOW OF HER CROWN AND LOOKED OUT TH WINDOW.. I WAS IN 1ST GRADE THE ARM WAS CLOSED AT THAT POINT ANNAMAY

If you have time check out the NYC transit museum in Brt

Glad you enjoying the sites be careful if you go to times square its not like it was a few years ago.
THE SPIRAL STAIRS INSIDE LADY LIBERTY ARE VERY SMALL AND ONLY HAS A BANISTER GOING UP ONLY ON ONE SIDE OF THE STAIRS ANNAMAY
That would be cool to see inside!
Yeah - better to have a quick visit than to not get there at all!
what i want to know is.... what is installed in your camper receiver when u backed into the NYC camping spot?
great video thank you!
Chris, cute bag, where did you get it?
Thanks!!!! cnpbags.com/product/dream-sling-bag/
Fun fact - Ellis Island is still disputed land between NY and NJ. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Jersey_v._New_York
NYC one of the great cities in the world. People surprisingly helpful. Must see is 911 Memorial.
You have really interesting videos and you established a unique approach. Thank you for the entertainment.

I’d like to see the green oxidation removed from the statue exposing her natural copper color.
Your camera is very shaky at times. FYI
Yes, sorry bout that.... this one was filmed in a rush being short on time. 😊

It makes my skin crawl every time you say "New Jersey City". Drop the "New"... just "Jersey City".
Your skin will be happy to know we now say Jersey City. 😉 All part of the learning curve of traveling the country full-time. 😊
Freedom Tower, built after 911
