Two scientists attempt to make their mark in history by volunteering to be a part of a three-year human hibernation experiment. However, upon awakening, they discover that they have been asleep for 53 years. As they seek for answers, they discover themselves confined in a post-nuclear women-only era.

Aw, dude, I remember watching this movie with my mom when we went to Poland way back! I had her translate pretty much every part for me because I can’t speak polish for shit, but man, I was losing my shit with this movie! Definitely one that needs some recognition.
The thing I like about this movie is that it has so many anti communist jokes that it was forbidden to watch this movie for some time 😂 (I'm from Czech Republic so I know this movie since I was little)
A lot of 'plays on words' so even if you know some Polish, you might miss the jokes.

well. The movie itself was recorded in 1983 in Poland which wasn't really rich back in the day and filming technologies weren't really advanced here.
then again, I just went chasing CRTs a few months ago. They're hard to find and repair now.

Actually, it's because both adam and eve making accusations (being the first satans in the bible, satan means "accuser" in hebrew"
If you read the little story, God simply asks what THEY did and instead of just answering each one blames another, first adam blaming eve, then eve blaming the snake. Only the snake keeps its mouth shut because it is known to be very wise and cunning 😂.
God obviously already knew what had happened he was asking what each of THEM did 😂

Ha ha.... I watched this film over 35-years ago in the UK with sub-titles. Such an interesting & funny film. I still have a VHS video recording of it somewhere; I must find it & re-watch.

I saw this movie on British TV late at night when they put on things you would only find on TH-cam now. It was subtitled but still had it's quirky humor. I guess it was better than I gave it credit for at the time since, I watched all of it and over thirty years later I still remember it!

Its probably left over from the "before time". Later 'Her Excellency' found it and fixed it up. Then, she/he rigged up that periscope thingie to fool people about the poisonous surface.

Back then it was created as satire of whole Soviet Union and the censorship they forced in every satelite country where the governement was part of the "comradery" This was a way to go around it.

You should also watch "Sami Swoi", "Nie ma mocnych" and "Kochaj albo rzuc". Don't skip "Jak rozpetalem 2ga wojne swiatowa" best Polish comedies.

@4ortytoon It was conceived more as a satire of communist rule and it's absurdity. Of fabricating facts, of blatant lies of the ruling party, of controling every aspect of citizens lives. After Max, Albert and Lamia leave the bunker Max says: "Group! Direction east.... there must be some kind of civilization". Referring to the east of Poland. To Soviet union (at the time of filming still existing). The back drop is exaggerated on purpose to circumvent then still prolific censorship. But I understand how one might draw a simpler and shorter conclusion that it is men vs women.
This is basically worlds end harem meets vandread.
It was a great comedy ...it was making fun of communism the way censorship couldn't stop movie production
I have a feeling censorship could only disagree with some jokes by agreeing that the joke was spot-on, and so decided to act like it wasn't and thus allowed it
@@sjonnieplayfull5859 the fact is Polish censors weren't as strict as some may be led to believe, in fact many of them actually hated the communist regime so if they were in a position that they could pass some content under a well articulated pretext, they would and they did - not always but often enough.

It's funny how some old movies just made up lots of stuff about future, but some of the non-sense is actually happening...
It is weird that works of cinema and literature that satirized and criticized the late communism turned out to be prophetic. Sadly for non-speaker of Polish, much of the humour and value of this particular movie is in the language.
