QUESTION OF THE DAY - ______________? Post in the comments section of this video!
This Dionysus performance is good, but the 2019 MMA blows it out of the water.
You should have Aaron show you the Save Me music video and then watch the behind the scenes/ shooting sketch to go with it. The music video is done in one shot.
Oh! Yeah! That would be awesome!
Watch MMA 2019. They turned an award show into their concert😄. Thank you for the reaction💜
I think you mean MMA 2019. MAMA 2019 is good too, but MMA 2019 is “the concert.”
@@sjm5750 yes I mean MMA 2019. Thanks for the correction💜
I love both those renditions as well
Yes and the main performance there was another one take. The prelude introductions were all pre-recorded except for Jimin’s part. That is insane to me that he chose to do that live as he did!
🔆🍷"In Hangul the Korean word for alcohol closely resembles the word for art!! So like BTS does so often, it's sort of a play on words, a metaphor, like filling themselves on art or getting drunk on art! Rejoicing reveling in the process of creating and being fully enmeshed in it!! We all know that Dionysus was the G-d of drink, pleasure, debauchery, as well as decadence, but indeed there is another more creative side like also fertility, birth which is also indeed a form of creating. He was also the g-d or wine grape harvest growth! Many interpretations that can be correlated with the song! If people would know who Dionysus was, it's quite a compliment to be called Dionysus, since he was so much more then the harvester of grapes vegetation, & creator of wine! Dionysus was the only Olympian with a mortal mother, because he was raised on the mythical Mount Nysa (which was believed to be either far to the south or the east), and because he wandered Asia before arriving in Greece, Dionysus was seen as an outsider. This was an inherent part of his cult, which often focused on the more subversive elements of his nature. Dionysus was often called Eleutherios, meaning “the liberator,” because his wine, music, and ecstatic dance freed his followers from self-consciousness and the restraints of society. Indeed, as the “twice-born” god, Dionysus had crossed the boundary between life and death, and he was often portrayed as the god who crossed the boundary between the civilized and uncivilized and the known and unknown. He was represented as a god of chaos and the protector of misfits. 👍❤🔥😍🔥
I really like hearing your reflection and exchange of thoughts afterwards and going back just to see what each other is talking about. They are brothers and they’re loyal to each other so much, they feel kind of empty when one person is not there. When Suga had surgery for an old shoulder injury and had to recover therefore couldn’t participate in promotions for 2-3 months, they not only bring him up him in award accepting speeches, but even leaving a space in the choreographies where Suga would normally be at. They didn’t have to, and just make a pretty pristine choreography with 6 members, but they wanted to honor that Suga is still present/part of them. Here’s something I would say is unprecedented, they pretty much enlisted in the military around the same time (in a year) so they can all reconvene as a team in 2025.
we had a ton of fun doing this as well, I love that they would do that, SUGA would do the same
Calling Aaron out. How do you know when you are finally ARMY? When you want to show your friends everything BTS has ever done. 💜
This song live at the end of their long spectacular award show is even more spectacular.
The high pitch screams in the background were done by Jin💜
Jin is such a monster!
Enjoybtsmore has the 2019 MMA performance of this song with English subtitles 💜
I think that channel was still down when we recorded this sadly...
@@Killdeer25 - she re-opened her channel last week! highly recommend reacting to/sharing more lives from her - she's awesome.
@sherry5808 oh absolutely! In fact I have already recorded a few BTS videos that are from her channel, when I did all my BTS content I think legit about 90% came from her channel, I am so excited she's back
Speaking of mic drop, BTS literally has a song called “Mic Drop” which they have a music video for which is so cool that I think you’ll appreciate. I used to listen to it constantly during my commute. There’s even a making of Mic Drop music video. They have one for every MV.
Kudos as always to the stage crew ... always in the correct place at exactly the right times.. The group has to trust them as much as each other... Great reaction - always love seeing Aaron so this was a bonus for me !!! Thanks guys.... 💜
I really enjoy your conversation. I love watching another person fall down the rabbit hole! 💜Gigi
I love this reaction and ya’ll discuss and commentary. A few thoughts…
@9:08 is the chores that had to be changed because it was too difficult and they were getting injured. Unfortunately, you can’t see it very well in this video. The 5 members drop down body straight and flat to the ground like in a push up pose and then back up again.
I wish you played the video to the very end because you missed the end scene when their final pose is captured in a frame like a picture.
I love Lindsey Sterling. BTS does all kinds of collab, and it would be cool if they collab together someday.
Besides BTS, I’m proud that I’m a BSB fan also and they too have lasted the test of time and are like brothers as well.
That move down is called a death drop. Appropriately named. They changed it because of the stage limitations they were having to perform on meant they were too close to each other to perform it safely. More that they changed it before an injury happened, but after they raised concerns that it couldn’t be done safely.
Best live performance of dionysus has live horses abd ocer 200 performers. A 45 m8nute bts cobcert ar an 😮awards show.
You should see the Dionysus performance from the 2019 MAMA awards. They did an entire 37 minute set and ended with an insane version of Dionysus. If I'm recalling correctly, it was THIS performance that they did the plank fall for the last time because JK actually hit his face on the floor during the rehearsal. All performances after this one, they do the spin and kneel move instead.
That was a live TV performance so excellent camera work however the camera missed their fall into a complete Press Up that all 7 members did together on point. You see them all turn to one side and fall but you don't see the landing into the full press up and do a press up all together.
I saw Lindsey Sterling live when she opened for Evanescence. Something I thought was awesome was she introduced a couple of her dancers at the end; her ballerina that night, as well as one who was a local to the area the concert was held at.

This is the making of footage of their Save Me music video. One shot video (no edits from beginning to end).
You'll see the amazing footwork of the camera guy.
Fun reaction. The music sounded like it was was a bit muddled though. Hope you heard it more clearly. 💜
15:33 I feel kind of wary about saying BTS never lip sync, because it's not exactly accurate. I understand the sentiment, because it's true that BTS is unique among Pop stars - Western or S. Korean - in how they handling lip syncing/miming.
The obvious instance is music videos, which of course they mime. Interestingly, MVs are one of the things ARMYs have used to prove that BTS is not good enough at doing it to get away with in live settings. The one setting where lip syncing is not only widely accepted but required is in an MV: 1st because that's how filming works & 2nd because most MVs are intended to convey a wider artistic vision than vocals or musicianship alone.
BTS also do the industry standard practice of using a backing track during live performances. However, unlike some of their, shall we say... less motivated peers, they use it to bridge spaces where the choreography physically prevents the vocalist from singing (esp. in solo songs), and to provide the additional layering necessary to replicate the studio version. It's a joist, not a beam.
Lastly, there are S. Korean tv appearances from the first few years of their career where there are members obviously miming the lyrics in parts. The context is key, because certain of the '"weekly Idol" shows, esp. the competitive shows, actually require performers to mime because they're rigid about maintaining the appearance of perfection on their program than conveying authenticity. Also, just as members will occasionally demonstrate that they're not lip-syncing, when they are, they make no effort to hide it. In either circumstance, they'll do things like moving the mic away from their mouth and/or not bothering to mouth the lyrics.
Great reaction! As for the love for animals, I think Tony and V have something in common, your friend can show you V's first solo album released in September, Layover is all illustrated in honor of his dog Yeontan and he even appeared in the mv's and live. .. Tannie as he calls him has heart problems and has undergone surgery, now he is the best known and loved dog in Korea and is sixth in the most beautiful videos made by fans. As now V is in the army Tannie is with his parents but V always says he had great losses and it was Tannie who made him smile again... 💜💟🐕🐕🐕
V love photos too, your codename is Vante!!!
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 ➕️ 💜💜
I really like your reaction to the video, it's a different conversation from other videos where people don't really add anything. Live performances are really hard work for dancers and cameras. I would also like you to react to MV's they are really work, I like them but it is difficult to understand why, the art behind the videography of it, I would recommed Not Today, Mic Drop (which they have a couple of interesting takes) and Heartbeat, which seems like a movie. Wonderful reaction
Hey .... do you know that J-hope wrote Dionysus and composed the main melodies. Great job by Hoby !
Vean MMA 2019 completa, dura como 39 minutos, es muy buena.
I thoroughly enjoyed your discussions and reaction and I appreciate your support of BTS. It's a shame that they got the tag of "boy band". I have never supported a boy band, not that there weren't some good ones but the music they do and the candy sweet impression I got just wasn't for me. I'm an old rock chick but there are very few BTS songs that I dislike. Louder than Bombs just might be my favourite but tomorrow it might be something else or one of the solo pieces. Thats BTS.
The table is moved by the dancers in black.
Half of what makes their songs great are the clever lyrics, but you never saw them.
Why have the junk to the righ5. Make mv bigge4!!! Fyi...not best version of live dionysus. Rememver, this is an awards shoe performance.. as is their best performance.
This is a video BigHit put together to show the IMPORTANCE of VIDEOGRAPHY to a performance. It's the same choreo 3 times, each one with a different videography angle/technique. th-cam.com/video/S1Up-ZzHmuw/w-d-xo.html
Tienen que mejora el sonido y la imagen del video, es de muy mala calidad, por eso no terminé de ver el video. Pero los voy a seguir, a ver si mejoran.
This is the worst video of this amazing song there is, LOL. But by now Aaron probably knows this.
Enjoyed the discussion. I also love Lindsey Stirling. If you want to discuss more “one take” videos. Check out Save Me and the making of. ARMYs love longer discussions as long as it’s about BTS so do them both together. The amount of prep work and dedication to get it right just amazes me.
YAAAY! you guys are great together. - can really pick up the sincerity of your friendship. glad you decided to do another video and dive a little deeper into BTS. As a Gen-Xer who grew up on classic rock/The Grateful Dead and 80's alt rock, BTS has impressed me to no end and made me interested in music again when i discovered them in 2019. Seriously they are so poorly stereotyped in the west and are so much more than expected when you dive in. Trust us the rabbit hole is deep but it is soooo much fun to be in. My musical world has color again thanks to BTS. Tony - i hope you keep exploring and enjoy the journey!
Sherry! Good to see you!
I really liked how you introduced the song. But how I laughed when you said in fact it's only one take.... well yes it's the principle of live 😉🤣🤣🤣
haha thats true, but they must really wanted to emphasize it with the title of the video saying it... now I wonder why LOL
@@Killdeer25I think Mnet confused a single take with a single camera and a live sound shot. Probably the problem with using Google translate and I know what I'm talking about since that's what I'm doing to write this message.
@@hobiscrapshort that makes sense honestly
Depending on the situation the cameramen sometimes have to practice the choreography alongside them to get the videography just right. I think the fact that their boss and founder Bang PD majored in Aethstetics has a lot to do with the artistic choices. 💜
Wait what???? There's a major in aesthetics???? Or am I thinking too much??? 😐😐😐
@@hopeworld0824 He has a degree in Aesthetics from Seoul National University.
Please watch MAMA 2019 ... wow
Their videography is very good now because the company sends out dance practice videos showing how it should be filmed for best affect. They performed early on in in their career at an awards show and the camera work was very lacking. Their company then released this video showing three different camera options that could have been done shading the award show director 😂 th-cam.com/video/S1Up-ZzHmuw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_GPowNTWBCCpCCvG
Guys, you *have* to do the Spine Breaker MV! The one they made themselves in their hotel (BTS Gayo ep 15). 😂
BTS was mentioned in the Simpsons check on youtube
multiple times if I remember correctly.
If Tony is a videographer it would be great to get into more music videos rather than live performances, and also by some other artists, because K-pop isn't just about the music. BTS's "Blood Sweat and Tears" is very beautiful and interesting, SuJu's "Sorry Sorry" is a classic in black and white, their "Black Suit" or U-Know's "Thank U" are mini movies, or Orange Caramel's "Catallena" with girls in sushi costumes is one of the most famous K-Pop videos ever.
They had to change the choreo a bit as it was too dangerous.
At that time were they concentrate on Jin and RM the rest let theirself fall forward into a push-up position which they all feared as that could get have gotten them hurt badly - always afraid they would fall on their face. Jungkook - BTS maknae and resident muscle bunny trains a lot - even during pauses when they go on stage etc. - had powered himself out with that and actually hurt himself not catching himself in time.
So they changed it.
The true "deep end" is their MMA 2019 performance which includes "Dionysus" (RM is Dionysus). And you should never forget that the MMAs are an award show.
But it was planned to be their last before military service - fate had a different idea.
You (two) nice! Keep going! 💜💜
I can't see that RM looks like Psy !
Did you see the song that Suga wrote for Psy, called That That. Suga wrote it, featured in it and produced it. The song is crazy.
watch GCF by Jungkook, as a videographer, you might appreciate it.
I think you need to watch Dionysus dance practice you can see more dance details
I also did some ballroom dancing. I want to see the pictures
They are the 7 gods of Greek Mythology.
Bruce Lee. Enter the Dragon.
React more bts please

Yes! My guy rm i sometimes wonder why he is so talented like that and is it normal for people like me lol.
Lol That's why I asked @Killdeer if they were human in the first video. Very talented. I was definitely impressed! Thanks for watching!
