At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment. Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on TH-cam. A year and a half ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition with several other renowned performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of TH-cam 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers. Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation. Sorry for the length of this post but there is so much information to give. This performance took place on September 25, 2021, when Diana Ankudinova was 18, during a new vocal competition called the ShowMaskGoOn. This new vocal competition was televised over a nine-week period, one episode per week. She competed against 8 other professional singers and they all competed against each other. Based on the individual performance they awarded judging points to each other, and Diana was a member of this judging panel. Each singer performed a different song each of the nine weeks. They had to perform using different genres and different styles of music. The ShowMaskGoOn! concluded on November 20, 2021, and Diana was chosen to perform her cover of Elvis Presley’s classic, “Can’t Help Falling In Love” which is the last performance of the last week. This performance demonstrated that Diana Ankudinova has what many vocal professionals say is a true contralto voice, and for those in your audience that may not know, a contralto voice is the lowest female voice and a true contralto is very, very rare, and on full display in the song opening. Diana had said she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range which has kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies. After several of the top music schools rejected her, she decided along with her voice teacher to concentrate on improving her higher range which can be heard in the 2021 inaugural season of a new vocal competition called TheShowMustGoOn with her interpretation of the Elvis Presley classic, Can’t Help Falling In Love. First, a very common question asked about Diana is her vocal range, because vocal range helps to define a female singer's voice type. At 13, in 2017, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5. 5 years later, during this performance her vocal range was again measured, and her functional range was measured from a low of C3 to a high of B♭5 which is in the Mezzo Soprano range, and again on full display during the middle part of this performance. But it's not how low she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her lower register, and her ability to transition seamlessly between her lower and upper vocal registers. It's the timbre, roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice, along with her ability to create and access an enormous amount of resonance that further define Diana as a Dramatic Contralto, the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice type, which is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types and is on full display during the final section of her performance here. So the question becomes how? How can such a young female singer achieve such low, rich, deep, resonant, and profound sounds? Without being able to scope her vocal tract while producing those low notes to actually see what is or is not happening, the general conciseness is simply attributing Diana’s unique ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning Diana was just born with unique vocal anatomy. Diana’s vocal folds, (vocal cords), appear to be longer and thicker than the majority of female singers. Her larynx also appears to be larger, her oral cavity is larger, plus her pharynx similarly appears to be longer than other female singers. It’s this combination of vocal anatomy that gives Diana the ability to produce low, deep, rich, full sounds that along with her unique tone quality and her ability to access an enormous reservoir of resonance makes her stand out, but without actually scoping her vocal track, there is no way to be 100% sure. Diana is also a true polyphonic singer which is an extraordinary accomplishment for someone so young. A singer that masters this vocal technique can create one, and sometimes two, different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones that can make it sound like a synthesizer was added to her voice, or there is more than one voice singing. This polyphonic ability is why some believe Diana Ankudinova is using some kind of electronic voice manipulation or pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person is singing off-stage in the background, or she is lip-syncing over previously recorded vocal tracks. There is no artificial electronic voice manipulation or any kind of manipulation going on at all with Diana's voice. Neither is anyone else singing with or for her that is off stage nor is she lip-syncing to a recorded vocal track. The other voices you are hearing are just vocal backing tracks used to fill in and round out the performance along with the backing track for the musical score. Diana Ankudinova and only Diana Ankudinova is singing “Can't Help Falling In Love”. To conclude, during Diana’s performance, the judge on the top row who stands during the performance is a well-known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan who was invited to be a special guest judge for this inaugural vocal competition. Yusif Eyvazov is also married to world-famous Russian opera soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana Ankudinova’s performance, she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors and a fellow judge, Julia Parshuta, the blond woman dressed in red, standing in the center row, a well-known contemporary Russian singer looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head with a look of total surprise and bewilderment. Finally, this 9-week competition ended with Diana being awarded the most points and being declared the winner.
About Diana seems to float in multiple layers of range, she's polyphonic. Besides, Diana goes from the rare low range of dramatic contralto to a mezzo soprano.

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment.
Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on TH-cam. A year and a half ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition with several other renowned performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of TH-cam 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers.
Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation. Diana Ankudinova sings mostly in Russian, English and French. She has also sung in other languages including Spanish, German and Arabic. Singing in French, at the age of 10, on a Russian TV show... a viewer: 'at the age of 5 she couldn't speak her own language, how can one see this and still doubt past lives?'

Sorry for the length of this post but there is so much information to give. This performance took place on September 25, 2021, when Diana Ankudinova was 18, during a new vocal competition called the ShowMaskGoOn. This new vocal competition was televised over a nine-week period, one episode per week. She competed against 8 other professional singers and they all competed against each other. Based on the individual performance they awarded judging points to each other, and Diana was a member of this judging panel.
Each singer performed a different song each of the nine weeks. They had to perform using different genres and different styles of music. The ShowMaskGoOn! concluded on November 20, 2021, and Diana was chosen to perform her cover of Elvis Presley’s classic, “Can’t Help Falling In Love” which is the last performance of the last week. This performance demonstrated that Diana Ankudinova has what many vocal professionals say is a true contralto voice, and for those in your audience that may not know, a contralto voice is the lowest female voice and a true contralto is very, very rare, and on full display in the song opening. Diana had said she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range which has kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies. After several of the top music schools rejected her, she decided along with her voice teacher to concentrate on improving her higher range which can be heard in the 2021 inaugural season of a new vocal competition called TheShowMustGoOn with her interpretation of the Elvis Presley classic, Can’t Help Falling In Love.
First, a very common question asked about Diana is her vocal range, because vocal range helps to define a female singer's voice type. At 13, in 2017, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5. 5 years later, during this performance her vocal range was again measured, and her functional range was measured from a low of C3 to a high of B♭5 which is in the Mezzo Soprano range, and again on full display during the middle part of this performance. But it's not how low she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her lower register, and her ability to transition seamlessly between her lower and upper vocal registers. It's the timbre, roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice, along with her ability to create and access an enormous amount of resonance that further define Diana as a Dramatic Contralto, the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice type, which is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types and is on full display during the final section of her performance here.
So the question becomes how? How can such a young female singer achieve such low, rich, deep, resonant, and profound sounds? Without being able to scope her vocal tract while producing those low notes to actually see what is or is not happening, the general conciseness is simply attributing Diana’s unique ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning Diana was just born with unique vocal anatomy. Diana’s vocal folds, (vocal cords), appear to be longer and thicker than the majority of female singers. Her larynx also appears to be larger, her oral cavity is larger, plus her pharynx similarly appears to be longer than other female singers. It’s this combination of vocal anatomy that gives Diana the ability to produce low, deep, rich, full sounds that along with her unique tone quality and her ability to access an enormous reservoir of resonance makes her stand out, but without actually scoping her vocal track, there is no way to be 100% sure.
Diana is also a true polyphonic singer which is an extraordinary accomplishment for someone so young. A singer that masters this vocal technique can create one, and sometimes two, different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones that can make it sound like a synthesizer was added to her voice, or there is more than one voice singing. This polyphonic ability is why some believe Diana Ankudinova is using some kind of electronic voice manipulation or pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person is singing off-stage in the background, or she is lip-syncing over previously recorded vocal tracks. There is no artificial electronic voice manipulation or any kind of manipulation going on at all with Diana's voice. Neither is anyone else singing with or for her that is off stage nor is she lip-syncing to a recorded vocal track. The other voices you are hearing are just vocal backing tracks used to fill in and round out the performance along with the backing track for the musical score. Diana Ankudinova and only Diana Ankudinova is singing “Can't Help Falling In Love”.
To conclude, during Diana’s performance, the judge on the top row who stands during the performance is a well-known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan who was invited to be a special guest judge for this inaugural vocal competition. Yusif Eyvazov is also married to world-famous Russian opera soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana Ankudinova’s performance, she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors and a fellow judge, Julia Parshuta, the blond woman dressed in red, standing in the center row, a well-known contemporary Russian singer looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head with a look of total surprise and bewilderment. Finally, this 9-week competition ended with Diana being awarded the most points and being declared the winner.

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion.
