I remembered the old days when the KV2 cannot kill a tortoise, but an artillery shell can. Same caliber, but the tank is lower rank than the tortoise. Now because of over pressure, it makes more sense. And it should make sense because they’re both artillery shells.
There is a photo of an M1A1 wrecked by a 155mm HE Arty shell out there.. enough said.
HE is literally a bomb. Bombs blow shit up, especially thin roof or underside plate.

Funny enough was playing SLG at 5.3 BR Ground Assault Arcade earlier today and I learned you can actually kill a black prince from the front armor with it from the overpressure

Thats called Inertia.
Before 2017 and before gaijoob broke HE rounds (they, apparently, fixed it now), HE of the m103 penetrated 45mm of plate. I admit, ive abused it thoroughly, given how ineffective its AP was at the time and how expensive its HEAT was.
The Sherman 105 he used to get like 38mm of pen now it sucks
Rule of thumb, only try this if the HE shell has at least 5kg TNT equivalent OR when you are up against unarmored trucks.
Never happens to me. The tracks and optics absorb the blast and I deal zero damage

The derp list is to my knowledge is FV4005 183mm 21,760g; AVRE 165mm 20,310g; Type 75 SPG 155mm 9,140g; Brumm/Sig33 150mm 8,600g; Ho-Ro 150mm 7,020g; ISU152 5,900g; Spj fm/43-44 150mm 5,800g etc (I'm not so sure after Ho-Ro might have missed something). Sig 33 has most HE:BR of all tanks lol.

Depends also on the load of explosive inside the he shell, here we have more than 7kg, some don't go over 20g, but if you aim it right, oh boy you go

There was an AML 90 in the tunnel, I had heatfs rounds and had no typical shot so I Overpressured them with a 105 heatfs shot under a train car XD Favorite kill in a while
I once killed a semovente da 90/43 with my kv2 by just hitting a so fucking little part of the truck, I laughed my ass
The other day i killed an IS-6 with a type 75 by slapping a shell on the ground next to it. I was just trying to kill the tracks
I feel like HE doesn't get good till you have a cannon about 105mm+

Ho Ro actually has more explosive than KV2 or basically every HE shell I believe. It's crazy. Love to bring it to top tier with ka chi and have some fun.

Thing is they just stay there and he has to aim at small spots so then it would be almost impossible in a real battle to kill one of those tanks
Shooting at the bottom part of the turret will cause shell to splash onto weak part of the Hull. Quite easy to do in battle.

What a fun little vehicle to use
dumbest addition to the game was overpressure , i would rather have hull break back than ovepressure , with hull break light tanks would die to somewhat random hits but overpressure just turns every heavy tank into a useless piece of metal , it is badly implemented as no HE or HESH could overpressure any tank that is slightly modern cause they used kevlar armor in the interior to prevent spalling or any armor mixture that is not steel alone , the game treats HE shells as if they are bombs with guaranteed kill radius

@@el_DartoSuprapto no it is not , no HE shell can directly ammo rack or kill the crew of a leopard 2a7 or a t90MS or any semi modernized tank , tank designers countered the use of HE and HESH shells by 1- adding interior kevlar armor to stop spalling from going into the tank , 2- the use of different materials in the armor mixture that prevented or reduced the transfer of shockwave making all HESH and HE shells against tanks useless , irl you might get a mobility kill with a big enough HE shell but other than that no serious tank components would be damaged , there is a reason why the main purpose of the centurion AVRE is obstacle clearing it is an engineer tank not a 1 shot miracle wonder weapon

Yes it can easily. 40mm top plate is easily punched through and crew overpressured by 7Kg+ of HE (50mm+ pen). The lower mantle acts as a shot trap and directs HE energy down into the roof plate. It goes through and has been documented on tanks with similar armour to have been done IRL. E.g. Abrams.

If you hit something it will more than likely die, but the reload and aiming are a serious pain. Not to mention how vulnerable you are in the Ho Ro. I timed the reload to be something like 24 seconds!
