Hi Alex. You guys provide great info, especially, having a wonderful caddie. I've found that when I have a good friend caddie for me, I've scored really well. Plus in the last few years, I was able to play some golf in Asia and they always require us golfers to have a caddie. And I was able to get some of the best caddies to carry for me and they're really good at picking out the club for me after they watched me play a few shots on the hole. I thought that was pretty impressive 😊. Plus they are really good at reading the greens too. All I had to do is ask them where the high point was and which way the ball would break. Most of the time, my ball would stay pretty much within a foot or two from the hole. May have to pay a little more for the A+ caddie but it's worth it 😁. Thanks for sharing this clip!
@@AlexElliottGolf sure he talked about aiming, but that was in relation to the best option, based on pin placement, to avoid running up a score of double bogey or worse, and yes itmight have been a big chnage for you, but as a pro you should have known all of that anyway. HOWEVER, there was NO mention of any optical illusion which your banner headline and your video still shot with the target emphasised. In fact the entire discussion on where to aim had NOTHING to do with an optical illusion, viz parallax.
Keep a positive mental attitude and keep it simple are the keys to good course management and if you are going to miss - miss in the right place. The best part of my game is course management and I learnt this very early on in my golfing game.
What I like is the caddie confirming what I once saw Malaska say in a putting video, which is the part of our brain we use for golf doesn't handle negative advice. i.e it I'll leave out the "don't " in "don't miss left"
Outstanding information here...great work gentlemen. Optics when you're bent over and optics behind the ball are illusory for sure. Gotta learn how to merge the two!
You know that videos have numbers throughout. What is the number where you say anything about "Caddie Reveals The Optical Illusion"? Your answers to others is not, at best, clear.
In my previous round, I was playing pretty well. I only played 9 holes and reached the 8th, a par 3, sitting at 2 under par. Feeling confident, I decided to go for the pin aggressively, but that was a mistake. The pin was not in a good position, and I ended up with a double bogey. Disappointed, I carried that momentum to the 9th hole, where I shanked my shot into the water. Ending the round 2 over
Wish i just knew what wind mph equals in + or -yards…? Like how rule of thumb ive heard for every 10-15 ft of elevation is a club ,whats the “club” mph as a rule of thumb ?
every yard of elevation up or down either adds or subtracts a yard from the total distance. For the wind I would usually use 1 yard per 1 mph as well. So 10mph wind in your face usually requires an extra club
@ not that i typically know the wind speed anyways but i always wondered… i sort of used your 1:1 method for the most part . It seemed reasonably close till the occasional 15+ mph wind with higher gusts . Seemed at around 15(or solid 15 plus on weather report meaning steady 15 that picks up a bit and often ) it almost doubled the effect the few times i experienced it..then again im so inconsistent so couldve been my swing adding to the effect 😂👍🏼✌️
Rule of thumb for wind. Wind directly into - add 1% of yardage for each 1 mph of wind. So 10 MPH is 10%. A 150y shot straight into plays 165y. Hit your 165 club. Into a 15MPH wind a 150y shot plays 173y. Downwind subtract 0.5% for each MPH so 150y downwind for a 10MPH wind plays 5% less so 143y. Down 15MPH wind plays 138y. Used this for years and my distance control is one of the strongest parts of my game. (59yr old +1 index)
That is so frustrating when the caption is incorrect. You wasted our time Elliot. Likely you lost viewers. I’ll give you one more shot but if? Thumbs down and I won’t watch another video but I would make a poor comment.
And...the optical illusion is ?
😂😂😂😂
It was regarding the aiming on the par 3, i felt it was a big change for me
The Ball ISN'T the TARGET. It's a Mental problem for most.
See "smarter everyday"s backward bicycle vid to see how difficult it is to " unlearn".....
@@AlexElliottGolf Big change but no optical illusion...
I was gonna ask the same...
The title does not match the content !!!

Again, enormous value in those caddie tips. Cheers mates.
Thank you Oliver
no mention of the optical illusion, but I think the clickbait banner headline is referring to parallax

Thanks for this, Alex! But where do you buy your gloves and what brand are they?

Alex going all Detry on us with the funky green glove

This caddie's course management strategies are elite.
Brilliant this. So iteresting👍🏽
Where's the optical illusion?
????? Must have been an optical illusion...i didn't see it.????
Thx for the great insight Alex. I need to plan better.
Brilliant would love to see more of these 😊
The optical illusion was just that......an optical illusion.

190 yards Alex 5i for the middle me driver to lay up 😂
What about the optical illusion?
Beautiful! Thank you!
I personally always try to just keep the big number off the score card but that's easier said than done
It's easy! Just don't write them down and that's it!
the bit of this video i was so confused as to where the green was, and then they say, ahh! the greenskeeper has finally put the flag in! haha
Great insights!
Glad you like it b
Always aim for the fat side of the green so if you miss you have green to work with.

@ sadly gusts exist!
so so interesting thankd
Thank you
Click bait. I actually thought this was going to be about aiming sightline. Zero Stars awarded.
