    Truest words ever spoken about child rearing:
    Your children are not your children
    They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
    They come through you but not from you,
    And though they are with you they belong not to you.
    You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
    For they have their own thoughts.
    You may house their bodies but not their souls,
    For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
    You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
    For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
    You are the bow from which your chidlren as living arrows are sent forth.
    The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
    And He bends you with His might that His arrow may go swift and far.
    Let your bending in the archer's band be for gladness;
    For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable. -Kahlil Gibran

      You may not give your children your thoughts, but statistically speaking, people are more than 90% likely to believe whatever religion their parents believed.

    Khalil Gibran (January 6, 1883 - April 10, 1931) was a Lebanese-American writer, poet and visual artist.
    Gibran was born in the town of Bsharri in the Mount Lebanon Mutasarrifate, Ottoman Empire (modern day Lebanon), to Khalil Gibran and Kamila Gibran (Rahmeh).
    As a young man, Gibran emigrated with his family to the United States, where he studied art and began his literary career, writing in both English and Arabic.
    In the Arab world, Gibran is regarded as a literary and political rebel.
    His romantic style was at the heart of a renaissance in modern Arabic literature, especially prose poetry, breaking away from the classical school.
    In Lebanon, he is still celebrated as a literary hero.
    A member of the New York Pen League, he is chiefly known in the English-speaking world for his 1923 book The Prophet, an early example of inspirational fiction including a series of philosophical essays written in poetic English prose.
    The book sold well, despite a cool critical reception, gaining popularity in the 1930s, and again (especially) in the 1960s counterculture.
    Gibran is the third best-selling poet of all time, behind Shakespeare and Laozi.

      ***** Gebran Khalil Gebran is Lebanese influenced firstly by his mother who was of a great christian faith .. that's why his book reflects what was written in the bible .. what distinguishes Lebanese people is that wherever he goes he stays Lebanese and carries with him his country's culture , that's why the Lebanese food as example became famous all orver the world and that's how the Maronite church succeeded to settle in every country in the world and has the most active comunity worldwide .. Lebanese are not arabs although only 17% of them carry the Arabic Genes but they are not arabs even on the cultural level .. they have preserved their own traditions and life style .. yet 28% ( the highest rate of the population ) stilll carries the Phoenician Genes .. it is shameful to see some Lebanese who always try to degrade their own country while in Canada they call the Movie Canadian simply because of a Canadian 2d animated company has an insignificant contribution in the movie

      ali mansour Arab culture is many things, but the absence of it and the effects of neo-colonialism let´s other people think this is what our culture is actually made of. It´s a distortion of the truth.

    Это удивительный мультфильм, за последнюю неделю посмотрел его уже 3-й раз. До этого не раз и не два изучал творчество Джебран Халиль Джебрана и всегда оно глубоко резонирует со мной. И мультфильм каким-то невероятным, неясным образом смог еще сильнее улучшить восприятие этого глубокого произведения, очень рад, что уровень своременных картин растет из года в год, некоторые из песен мультфильиа вошли в список любимых, Благодарю.

    • @danielmocsny5066
      @danielmocsny5066 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bob Nietzsche - not knowable by humans is not the same as not determined (by the laws of Nature). As scientific progress has rolled back human ignorance, the humans who happen to be scientific experts are able to predict more things that were once unknowable by humans. One thing we can be certain of is that - barring a collapse of civilization that would usher in a new Dark Age - we can expect the class of predictable things to increase.

    “A little while, a moment of rest upon the wind, and another woman shall bear me.” --- it happened. It's me. Not what people would expect, but I was a very good writer before I found out. Still have my doubts, but the experience I had when I saw The Prophet cover for first time was undeniable for me. A voice spoke aloud in my head (only time this happened) and said "This is you. This is you." Not trying to gain a single thing by saying this.

Still should be shared, seen, and heard by many folks but personally Nesson can be Jean Valjean, Bryan Mills, and even Ra's al Ghul but he's just not Gibran as I hear him in my head.

      dayglowjoe i think it's spelt Kahlil. not Khalil.

      Khalil is the true spelling, yes, but he himself accepted the misspelling Kahlil as a child raised in America, and used it. So it is considered an acceptable alternate spelling.

      +Naiinciitha Sanchez Khalil Gibran was born in the town of Bsharri in the Mount Lebanon Mutasarrifate, Ottoman Empire (north of modern-day Lebanon), to Khalil Gibran and Kamila Gibran(Rahmeh). As a young man Khalil emigrated with his family to the United States, where he studied art and began his literary career, writing in both English and Arabic.
