Watching all these compilations has taught me one thing: Ray has always been who he is now. Same energy, same jokes, same reactions. It's comforting to know.
He's grown and changed in all the right ways, while keeping his love for making himself laugh with jokes to himself. There's a reason he's been so successful streaming.

to be fair the no checkpoints thing in a game thats already harder than dark souls will piss anyone off, whenever i die in a game that decided to not give me a checkpoint i usually say "oh hey i forgot i was playing jak 2"
@@gavinnelson3402 I think the worst part about Jak 2 is that you can have fun at points. But that fun gets hit by the freight train that is wonky game mechanics. So many things needed more polishing or just a complete rework (like ammo not carrying over if you die, lack of checkpoints, certain missions being timed etc). So I can see why you might love Jak 2, just the game does not do itself any favors and you're pretty much guaranteed to rage

Love this series! The first one is easily the best and I would sacrifice every uncharted/Last of Us game for a remake. 9:49 This is actually how you're supposed to do it, it auto locks on to the box. I tried to aim for it in first person like 40 times before I looked up a guide on it and found out you're not supposed to aim. I loved Jak 2 as a kid, but when I played it as an adult it was miserable, and nobody believed me when I said how bad it was.
These were mine and my little brother's favourite games growing up! So much time put into these games. The fishing mini game wasn't nearly as hard as the Whack-A-Mole game for us. We got stuck on that one for 2 years! But man this is still my favourite series.

I think cause in Jak 2 there were so many mechanics that were just wonky that it was a fucking coin toss on if you managed to complete the missions easily. Like that one mission that Ray completed in the slums were he used the hoverboard to reach the end. I swear that is the ONLY way you can complete that mission, enemies constantly coming, their aim going from Stormtrooper to Expert Assassin, low ammo/health drops from enemies, ect, make trying to just run on foot impossible. I spent several hours on that one mission trying to run and gun and i think i barely manage to get halfway to the goal. Took out the hoverboard, completed it after a number of tries, cause hoverboard controls aren't great, the aforementioned enemy aim, and if you touch the water for a second the instakill rockets come for you. I 100% believe Jak 2 was the low point of the trilogy.
