My school won a playoff game against this small school that came 5 hours. We were all cheering, but it sucked to see the other team sitting in numbness on the floor. There were 8 seniors on that team, and that’s the last thing they’ll remember

I've also been in both situations. This year for my high school bowling. We were in the state semis, up against the first seat. It was a tight match in the last game. As it got to the last frame, we were down by 8. Meaning our last teammate had to get 9 or more to win. He went up and it went far right and by some miracle he got 9 and we won by 1. We all cheered out of excitement. But seeing the other team down and upset made me sad. Then we lost in the finals to a team that broke a damn record

he did play actually, he’s number 20 on bergen catholic. he’s my friends boyfriend and he was upset because it was his last game attending that school.

As a cheerleader watching the boys lose the third place state game hit different.Even the kids that don’t cry over losses cried.So as soon as we got on the bus we hyped them up like crazy 😂that was their favorite loss of the season❤
Its like at the super bowl when the losing team has to stay and like sit on the benches and shit while the winning team celebrates. They always have the winning team’s color in confetti so the losing team gets covered in it.
I’ve been playing sports all my life, I’m now a freshmen in high school, and I can tell you as someone that’s been on both sides of this situation, sure it feels amazing winning state or nattys for a sport, it’s imo one of the greatest feeling in the world, but you have to remember that when you feel that high, look at the other team and realize how bad they must feel after training and playing games for 3+ months and all of those hopes and dreams die in they blow of a whistle. It truly is one of the worst feelings in the world. An example is last week when I was playing u14 rugby, we played a team that we beat only by 2 points in the regular season, for the socal youth rugby championship and we beat them by 49 points. And in the end we were all happy that we won that game by a landslide, and you realize how terrible that other team must feel.

They tied, so the game went into overtime and my brother’s team ended up winning and then were all celebrating, throwing around their gloves, sticks, helmets, etc. and then both teams lined up on opposite sides of the ice, facing toward each other and the other team had to watch my brother’s team get medals, a trophy, and a plaque and I actually felt so bad for the other team 😢😢😢

I felt like this once, My school had made it to the county cup final and it was a heated game. One of the players of my team gave away a foul and the other team got a sideline. they passed it quickly and took a 3 pointer making the game 42 - 44. The person who gave away the foul and felt awful about it. As soon as the whistle blew revealing that we lost he cried his hardest knowing that the 3 month journey we had took to get here got us nothing but memories but he had so much regret. It was not just him feeling bad though, as my teammates missed a lot of chances as well. I ended up scoring the most points by 1 (17) and claimed a trophy. On our bus home, I shared the trophy with everyone acting as if we won a proper trophy to lighten the mood.
As the captain of my baseball team we lost in one of the most important stages of the tournament. It would have led us to regionals but we lost so we ended up not making it and it was my season with the team. 😢 And it was the worst feeling because they walked it off and we just sat and looked at the scoreboard while they celebrated while we just at and cried
