    Thank you. You answered SO many of my questions. I just need to learn how to square it up and I'm on my way. 😊

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are so welcome! The easiest way to square it up is to get it out flat, use the selvage as your first straight edge and go from there, not moving it around at all. Since it's a knit fabric, every time it gets repositioned, it's really difficult to get it back in the same position. It works better to just get it laid out flat and not move it. :) --teresa

    I just made a Cuddle blanket for my new granddaughter. My daughter was thrilled with how cute and how super soft it was. It was easy to make. I only had a problem with the binding since the sun was coming up by then and I had a serious senior moment. But when I was rested I realized what I had done wrong so it took a little longer through no fault of the kit. I know Slayer will love it now and when she's older.

    Hi Teresa, I love all your tutorials and been watching several of it :) and Thank you much for sharing!! I'm a beginner on sewing and trying to sew all my "coming soon" first grandbaby's stuffs. And love the swaddle, cuddle, minky and terry towel, those are difficult to sew..hahaa. Done couples of bips and blankets but failed on the Embrace Blanket with Luxe Cuddle binding :( which I use the Minky instead. But I will keep learning :)

    Hi, My first experience with Shannon fabrics a cuddle/minky kit was red, black, and white quilt. It had moose on it with red plaid and a red moose appliqué . It turned out beautiful, but I swore I'd never sew with cuddle/minky again. So I hope I learn something about this fabric that I didn't know that will change my mind and convince me to t ry again with less trouble and frustration. LOVE the feel of this fabric.

    Is it possible to use the cuddle dimple Minky for a border on a cotton quilt top and then use it for the backing? I have never worked with it and my customer wants this fabric in particular.

    I'm new to quilting and to Cuddle. I have started a rag quilt and have cut the squares for the back of it from Cuddle that has the embossed arrow design. Now I am beginning to wonder/panic that it will always shed if I use it in a rag quilt, as I know I have to cut the cotton and Cuddle edges on such a quilt. Eeeeek or will this be okay?

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you use Cuddle minky, once it is past the initial shed it will not continue to shed after that. Just make sure that you wash it in cool water and don't over-dry it. --teresa

      @@ShannonFabrics TY! So good to know. I also came across a video from Shannon saying to take your cut pieces and place them with a wet washcloth in the dryer awhile. That did the trick so far too! I recently finished watching the video showing so many wonderful Shannon fabrics and can't wait to work with more! :)

    can I use woven fusible interfacing on the smooth cuddle fabric?

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, I use Pellon SF101 and SoftFuse on Cuddle® often. -teresa

  • @barbbusarello9786

    Is there anything else you can use beside the spray adhesive?

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try pinning well, but I prefer the way that the ODIF 505 spray works. It holds excellently, doesn't smell and does not affect my asthmas at all, so I use it often. I know some others choose to pin more instead.

    Nice video on minky. I was wondering if you could stabilize the minky fabric with Heat & Bond? Thank you.

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can stabilize with an interfacing, but for most projects it isn't necessary. I do use Pellon SF101 woven interfacing when doing patchwork (such as the Leprechaun Pillow and the Tuscan Quilt sewalongs). -teresa

    Hi Teresa, I love your videos, they have really helped me. I have been making rag quilts using cuddle material for my grandchildren and everything is fine until I am attaching one row to another row and go over the seam or where it is the thickest. Almost every time my thread comes out of the needle. Do you have any idea on what I could possibly be doing wrong? Thank you. Kim

    • @ShannonFabrics
      @ShannonFabrics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you are using a 90/14 Stretch needle; this is usually where I usually end up having missed stitches. Also be sure to use a good quality polyester thread, such as Mettler or Superior Threads. I hope that helps! --teresa

    What size of fabric to cut to make a minky

      You can make a minky blanket whatever size you'd like, but my favorite is 2 yards each for the front and the back. --teresa
