I love this but, I'm just not crafty enough. I found a beautiful piece of shell (black and tan) with large pattern and just a hint of ribbed texture left. It is so smooth and perfect size (thumb print size) to keep in car. It's very therapeutic to rub when driving, plus I can seem an illusion of beach in the sky.
That's a really creative way to use that piece of shell. I have them pretty much all over the house and you are right - there really is something calming about holding them!
Thank you for doing this video, I have tons of shells and need ideas on what to do with them. I love your videos keep them up but I also love ideas on what to do with them.
Did you see my mirror video? I did that first! I think you should go for it!!! Here's my shell mirror just in case you haven't seen it yet. th-cam.com/video/Mf5SVm8m5n8/w-d-xo.html
This is a great idea thanks for doing this but I have many more things I have to do I have to be doing sanding the boxes and then we also did fingernail polish on the shells
It’s gorgeous. Sharmon, had noticed the previous owners of my little house had left a large seashell on top of a cabinet in my master bath. Well I finally got help getting it down, and it’s a giant murex shell. A Ramosus Murex shell with lots of long frills and about 8 inches long from the tip to tail. Imagine, I scored a gorgeous shell and I didn’t even have to go to the beach!
I just looked up that shell and WOW! They are absolutely gorgeous! I had the same thing happen to me. The previous owner of the home I currently live in left me all sorts of goodies - a basket of horse conchs (they're not self collected so they don't "count"), a trumpet shell, some nautilus shells, coral, star fish and...a real pretty junonia. It made me think that if people who moved into this home didn't know anything about shells, they really would have missed out on some beautiful specimens. Congrats on your new shell!!!
Gorgeous Shell Frame!!! Love your beach walks each Sunday. I live in Central FL and don't get to the beach very often. Thanks for all your great videos. Hugs 🌞🌞🌞
That's actually a great idea! I only have so much room and I apparently can't stop myself from collecting shells so why not right? I have another idea I'd like to try out in the near future. I'll be sure to share!
Thank you! I had a hard time finding the right photo for the frame but I too am loving the bright blue with the white clouds in the white frame. Thank you for watching!
What a treat to get an additional "how to" video from you. The frame is gorgeous, great job!! I have some white shadow boxes already from my favorite sanibel shells but now I have to have a picture frame like this for my beach room. OK, off to the thrift store I go today to find one! Thanks for sharing your project! Love it!
That is gorgeous. I’ve put off doing that because we get so many dust storms I can’t pictures what dusting it would be like. I think I’m going to think about doing a shadow box. But, I’m going to have to purchase more of my favorite kitten paws😊
Someone had left a comment about using a hair drying on a cool setting to blow the dust off. I guess that's one way to do it! I've been finding lots of kitten paws lately! ☺️
Happy surprise video! Your frame is lovely! Good thinking to use it vertically or horizontally. The combination of faded shells, white shells and pearls is so pretty. Thank you, Sharmon!
Sunday is for beach walks, so my "extra" goodies I release during the week. I'm pretty happy with the way the frame came out. I hope to find the time to make more projects in the future!
What? I had a vision and had been collecting those white shells specifically for such a project. I also have a white cigar box that I want to put shells on. I wore your yellow scallop necklace last night ☺️
That is absolutely beautiful! I love this idea and feel inspired! I have a small ziplock bag that I keep my tiny shells in and I added some seed pearls that came off of a tassel to the bag, I think I see a future project for me on the horizon. Thanks for sharing! ❤️
It came out pretty much the way I wanted it to. I have a beautiful white cigar box that I want to also cover in shells and pearls. One of these days ☺️
The mirror was my first project. It took me a while to find the right one but I eventually found what I as looking for. If I ever decide to add paint I'll have to try to remember to seal it!
This is GREAT! And that frame reminds me of wind-blown sand, just perfect for shell embellishment. I thought it looked nice with just the shells and then you took in to another level with the addition of the pearls. I would love to see what else you do with all your shells.
Thanks so much! I really enjoyed making the frame. I have to find a way to squeeze more time out of my week so I can do more things like this. One day!
I love love love that frame. When I lived in FL. I collected shells but never felt I had the talent to try making anything with them. Now I'm a crafter but up in Wisconsin...no shells. Need to move back to FL. ❤️
The frame came out beautiful. You did great. I get crazy when I start making projects. It seems that all of my empty spaces needs shell. Lol. Beautiful work.
The frame looks fabulous Sharmon! I love it! I think the design on the frame works well with your shell theme... to me it adds movement likes waves... TFS!
I'm so glad I held onto those pearls. I was cleaning out closets and almost got rid of them. I'm not as creative as some other people (hint, hint) but at least I finally gave it a try!
@@SWFBeachLife The pearls were a perfect addition to the finished project! I also loved that you planned the project to be used in either landscape or portrait position too! Very cool! I want to do a mirror at some point and really appreciate the glue idea, since that was something I was hemming and hawing on. Your frame is beautiful!
