Kai Lin, regional manager of the recently opened Chatime in Ottawa’s Chinatown demonstrates how to make the sugary, tea-based tapioca drink. Video by Julie Oliver/Postmedia
The sugar is fructose. So usually in a bubble tea it's 1. milk, 2. fructose syrup 3. tea (I use Lipton Pure Tea, cold already so I don't have to drain it or get it cold) then 4. dairy creamer. That's basically it! :)
Can you tell me how the fructose machine works? I see the machine has a lot of buttons and I was wondering what each button does? Is it for adjusting sweetness when customer says they want for example, 50% sweet, 75% sweet, etc?
To everyone complaining, the "Bubble" in bubble tea comes from the action of shaking the teas and getting bubbles. Not the tapioca itself. (The more you know)
You seem quite knowledgable so could I ask you: Is this "latte" in the video the same as the pearl milk tea except without the boba, or is it a different drink? If so, do you know how to make this recipe into the pearl milk tea that's ever so popular?
Actually they called it bubble tea not because the tapioca pearls, but because when you shake the milktea there is bubble on top. Tapioca pearls is only the topping :)
This video is NOT MISLEADING the bubble in the word bubble tea is meant for the foam on top of the drink not the tapioca pearls. Better do your research peeps
Hey I just got a cha time yesterday and it’s SOO GOOOD I think I got the premium pearl and the pearl bobs things wore OML like I want to get sponsored by them so bad 😱😱😱 🤤

It's not bubble tea. If it doesn't have boba pearls in it, then it's not bubble tea, who ever made this video, needs to edit it so that the "How to make bubble tea" doesn't flash up at the start. It's iced milk tea at best

Okay so I had the apple boba they had and when I drank it it was bad and I mean really bad it smelled kinda good but when I chewed on the pearls of the apple boba I felt very comfortable and I almost vomited but I do love the chocolate milk tea one and the mango one
Errr, bubble tea without bubble. By the way, chatime or tealive isn’t taste good like last time. Even when I ordered any drinks that served slight sugar, it still taste super sweet. Maybe they keep using powder flavour or syrup to make the drinks. Disappointed about these two companies. By the way, I love KOI, 老虎糖珍珠奶茶, 鹿角巷, Boost Juice, Juice Works so much! They all serve QUALITY drinks.
Marcus Cheow if you order milk tea then it's expected for the drink even with "0 sugar request" to be sweet since non dairy creamer (main ingredient of milk tea) contains sugar. Try to order black tea latte (tea with fresh milk).
I work in the #1 Bubble Tea spot in Montreal Chinatown as a Drink Maker and I can tell you that is the not the best way to make bubble tea, moreover that is milk tea, chatime only makes milk tea they make ZERO original bubble tea. I LOVE chatime, their milk tea is my favorite, I even prefer it over my own bubble tea that I make, still doesn’t change the fact that it’s better to use a blender too and that it sucks they don’t make the original flavors like honeydew milk or mango milk, etc.
MILK TEA. please reference yourself, ask them. My boyfriend went to chatime with me his first time and he asked for Lychee bubble tea and they said they only had Lychee milk tea or juice, he even asked for other flavors, him not liking milk tea could not even get a drink due to that. If they make natural bubble tea where you live thats good for you but you should ask them. If your "honeydew milk" has a greenish dark color, its milk tea, same for mango. Lychee would be a brownish color. I work as a drink maker, I know. Go on the chatime menu on their site and you will see they only have fresh tea, milk tea, smoothies, etc but no regular milk bubble tea. Milk bubble tea is made with powder and water as they only use tea. Thanks. PS: I just called chatime and they said they make no original milk bubble tea. Only fresh tea or flavored milk tea or they have different types of tea flavors. :) If you do ask them you have to clarify NO TEA. Because the lady I spoke to did not understand what I meant, most of them only understand chinese since working there, speaking chinese is a requirement, as I can also tell you I was hired there once but did not have the chance to work with them due to my inability to speak chinese, but she said there was tea in every drink. Original bubble tea with only milk, as in powdered. If I could have recorded the call for you, I would have.
GUYSSS! Some drinks don't come with pearls like a pearl milk tea comes with pearls but in tutorial videos most of the time they don't add toppings because toppings are optional.
most tea shops, use non dairy creamers..... thats the way it should be made.... using fresh milk just doesn't work (no hate against cha time, i know friends that love that shit). But Yeah i get it... its "fresh" fresh this fresh that , blah blah blah... who gives a fuck if its fresh. Most of the top quality boba shops use coffee mate non dairy creamer. I live in SGV so definitely know what im talking about. Ten Ren , AU 79, Tapioca Express, quickly's and Lolicup all use non dairy creamers... If you wanna get OG on me... hong kongers milk tea is made with condensed milk.

Mez yes! The original milk tea did NOT have “pearls/boba”
Nah bubble tea supposed to have tapioca. Otherwise it's just milk tea :P
Nah, it’s still bubble tea without pearls. It wasn’t called bubble tea because of the tapioca balls.
You seem quite knowledgable so could I ask you: Is this "latte" in the video the same as the pearl milk tea except without the boba, or is it a different drink? If so, do you know how to make this recipe into the pearl milk tea that's ever so popular?
It sould be called Tea Bubbles (Foam)
If its made in 1 min why do we wait for 10mins?
Maybe, they have a lot of peoples
Hi Roblox face haha
You think that you are the only customer, dont you
This is Chatime. Not as popular as Gong Cha, Coco and Kung Fu Tea
He cut out how long it takes to extract the tea
Where are the actual bubbles, the tapioca balls?
Yes
we came here to see bubble tea! the balls are the main reason it's called that. what's bubble tea without the bubbles?
Actually they called it bubble tea not because the tapioca pearls, but because when you shake the milktea there is bubble on top. Tapioca pearls is only the topping :)
Thats called BOBA tea. Bubble tea is called that because when you shake the milk, sugar, and ice then foam(bubbles) forms on the top.

wow a machine that doesn't do coffee but tea!
plot twist: the bobas are invisible
The name bubble tea comes from the shaking of the shaking cup not the pearls.
Are the urns you use are the “cold teas like green tea” are they hot inside the urn? Or are they made cold inside the urn?
That maachine espresso tea,wow
what kind of machine is this? is it just a converted coffee machine or specially made ofr tea?

You know it's Canadian cause the milk is in a bag
The ‘ bubble ‘ part of bubble tea comes from the shaking of the tea which creates bubbles. The bubble part is NOT the tapioca pearls !!!!
Never open the shaking cup, too much foam

This one is 10% milk, 10% coffe, and 80% ice...
