As someone who was diagnosed with ADHD in 2nd grade before boba became so mainstream in the US, I laughed at the part about boba causing ADHD. Sugar can trigger ADHD-like symptoms, but I don't think it's gonna alter your brain chemistry.

Anything is toxic in high enough amounts. You can even die from drinking too much water. Nutritional science doesn't do much science. Just because it has the word "science" in it does not automatically make it an actual science. It's a guessing game more than anything currently.

It's because that has been pretty common knowledge since "Fast Food Nation" hit the shelves. Not only that but after getting the pushed into their brains repeatedly at school, the younger generations have started considering it background noise. Ya know? Plus, since boba tea has become so popular and people drink it so much, that makes it more relevant as people of all ages drink it so often. The french fries have become similar to an over played song on the radio. People have lost interest. Just like with the red beetles used to make red food coloring.

Thank you for this! I tried googling boba tea and had a hard time finding what tapioca is made of and it’s ingredients. Could you do videos (if you haven’t already) on lychee and crystal boba? Or magic boba or clear boba lol however you call it cause it appears that also has interchangeable names. @Mister Kat Actually it is genetic and can run in families. If a parent has ADHD the child has more than a 50% chance of having it. My mother's doctor told her that because she has ADHD any kids she has will most likely have it. Low and behold me and my 2 sisters have it while my brother has ADD.

Misleading and sensationalist 1)The fact he is wrong about the origins of the name-boba tea-because the pearls are called boba in Taiwan-made me realize the rest was probably inaccurate. 2) Toxicity BS. It is toxic if tapioca is eaten raw. Boba pearls are boiled for hours. 3) Boba tea has calories and caffeine, like all coffee drinks, soda, etc. Buy a small. Watch your health in general 4) Boba pearls are cancer causing IF your shop buys mixed ingredient bobas with fillers from sketchy Chinese manufacturers-those are not high standards. Ask for the boba pearl package and make sure it only has tapioca flour.

Living in Taiwan, I can tell you that no one here call the tapioca pearls "boba". They are called 珍珠 (zhenzhu) from the name of the small pearls he mentionned. Then when the big ones arrived, they started to call them boba as it means in Chinese "big boobs" but now they are back to call them zhenzhu.

I recently found out that in the two places in my town that serve boba tea, they use powder milk 😢... so I ordered tapioca pearls on Amazon and yesterday I made them and used liquid almond milk from costco...
