Howler Monkey true. During the old times there were only like 4 guns at tier 10 with 640 alpha but now these guns are everywhere. It’s sad that these tanks are no longer as special as they were when there were only 4 nations.
Jpanther II is way more enjoyable than ferdinand , because : if you front tier 9 in ferdinand , you're a slow hp bag with a gun but in jpanther II you have the mobility 1s less reload and a strong casemate , in tier 8 its the same thing for jpanther II and ferdinand
Just got the ferdi, and i think its a pretty good tank, its hull turn rate is good enough to wiggle and angle your tank while frontlining effectively, you dont need an armor buff to make this thing a beast in the battlefield
The Ferdinand is slightly slower in all aspects but makes up for with more hp and armour. If you angle yourself in it while retreating to reload it works really well

I choose the Jag, in tier 7 - 9 there are tons of 120mm - 150mm guns that can go through the Ferdinand's front like butter. I' rather rely on speed than armor.
I like jpanther not only because of his speed, and also his impenetrable turret like part(the gun part), and also great at side armour that can make him an support at flanking with ht's
Statistically, the Jpanther 2 is better than the Ferdinand ( except for armor ). I was already leaning toward the JP2, but this (along with it costing half the xp of the Ferdinand ) has solidified my choice.
The fact that the Ferdinand is named after Ferdinand Porsche is probably enough persuasion for me. I would at least like to have it in my collection soon
When I first got the Ferdinand in late 2015 it wasn’t the greatest slow easily penned and at the time it’s guns except the top gun then the big problem was that it was up to a 105mm later it got the 128mm gun and the matchmaker a plus two/minus two gameplay. The other problem was the game mechanics then with the way penetration worked versus armor tanks one below the Ferdy I could pen easily even if they had more armor than me especially tier6, but I’d (Ferdy) would struggle to penetrate tier9s and couldn’t put a single den in a tier10s while they (higher tiers) could easily clear me(Ferdy) this did change with the introduction of the 128mm gun and new game mechanics (plus one/minus one) with more penetration and bigger damage as well making it much nicer mechanics of armor profile on both lower and higher tier tanks ei.(I couldn’t just pen lower tiers easily and some higher tiers were now much easier to pen). As for the JagPanther2 I don’t have much experience in this tank, my experience with it is the total lack of gun depression and gun arc the mobility is great, gun accuracy isn’t to bad (poor gun arc screwing my aim sometimes), penetration is good and the DPM isn’t bad for a large gun, and it’s camo value vs view range can be somewhat a problem, but equipment and provisions and crew skills should more than makeup for its lackluster abilities also the armor isn’t that bad either, but you do need to angle and use hull down positions but this can a problem aka poor gun depression and poor gun arcs. Overall both tanks I’ve kept one for being my first Tank Destroyer and second because it a solid TD lots of good points but then again lots of bad points both very capable TDs if played right and backed up rightly so. Never keep new wine in a old bottle or in this case, never place a new tank design in a old tank model. (New tank destroyer using a old Tiger P chasis which then gets outmatched by other newer tanks)
One main difference is the Ferdinand has a better gun traversal to the sides and a 8° depression compared to 6° of jp2. While ferdi is slow it gives you a better gun angles.

It's disgusting how Ferdinand got powercrept so hard by JP2. JP2 supposed to be weaker in term of protection and survivability to balanced out it's fast mobility, Ferdinand on the other hand should be more sturdy and aggressive kind of TD despite of having thick protection and slow mobility to counteract that. Instead JP2 is obviously overshadowed Ferdinand to the point of making Ferdinand irrelevant in the game, jp2 has weaker super structure and hull on the paper but unreasonably receive more bounce than Ferdinand, for example, it's can side scrape with its side armour without getting hit into the super structure because of extreme and narrowing angle(when attempting to SS, Ferdinand will most likely to get shot into the flat super structure instead if not over-angle the side armour). The dpm on JP2 is not making any sense, why a TD with large super structure like Ferdinand has a disgustingly long reload time while small narrow super structure like JP2 got faster reload time, hull armour for both of them is useless but JP2 got better mobility to compensated that while Ferdinand got punished for having irrelevant armour with sluggish mobility. If Ferdinand still live like that, it will eventually become irrelevant and untouched by the majority of the players, the number of players between these two tanks already proved that.

Go down the IS-7 line. It teaches you how to go hulldown and teaches you how to play pike nose tanks.
