I spend 90 percent of my practice time doing this. 5 days a week for two hours. It has helped me more than anything else I have ever done. I took me 4 months just to be able to do this properly. I went from a 6.8 to 1 in the 5 moths I have been working on Mike's swing. I have played whole rounds just swinging like this and almost broke par. This is the real deal. I am so much more consistent now. I was always decent but not as consistent as now.
Idk this video is 5 years old ,, it's August 17th 2020 I just back from the range on long island New York I live 5 minutes from Bethpage black ,,, I play that course once a year just to be reminded how good these pros are lol,, that course kicks the shit out of me!!! Anyway just got back from the range and this swing Mike teaches is absolutely incredible ,,the best part about the swing is IAM 55 years old so the effortlessness of this swing is hard to believe !!! I've watched numerous videos on Mike's teaching and I've learned how to use it,, with short irons IAM just ok with irons it's unbelievable how enjoyable it is to hit a golf ball !!!! Now IAM still trying grasp the driver not sure why IAM having trouble but I have moments we're it all comes together and it makes this game of golf so much enjoyable then hacking away with my other swings IAM a 17 HC so I have work to do on every shot but man I'll tell never had a better time with golf then now with learning Mike's swing !!!! Whatever Bla Bla Bla Mike ty for all you do,, your ,, the best
Great drill. I can finally feel the momentum of the club pull me around to a proper finish. I was always using my body to pull me through the shot to the finish
What are you supposed to be rotating your left arm with? I am currently using a relaxed left arm and it feels like its just the ball and socket of my lead shoulder allowing the rotation. The reason I'm asking is because should it be the front of your arm or the back of your arm or the rotator cuff or or what? I am left hand dominant and really like to feel my muscles going through that motion and my right hand is typically very passive. So I'm wondering if I should rotate more of what feels like to meet the elbow because then it engages a lot more muscles to release the club with some serious force and Leverage. I guess I'm just curious if this is a thing? So for some golfers they might do much more with their Trail hand so their lead hand can feel super passive. However my trail hand is ridiculously passive. Or I'm overthinking this and it's just a matter of both arms feeling very passive?
Mike.. As I watch Jack swing, his left arm definitely did not stay against his chest for long before coming off and swinging into the finish. Is this like the steering wheel drill where it's a feel we're looking for but it doesn't actually do that? Or does it pivot them come off the chest?
Mike can you make more videos on the left arm. Motion to finish. When I keep the left arm close to chest after impact. It works but feels funny. Plus you see all the pros arm goes to the side at finish
You can have any tension at all. I used to think I didn't have any but when I started to go at 50 percent it is easier to feel the tension. I am very aware of it now because I can feel it. There are still days where no matter what I can't get rid of the tension. It is nowhere near the level of the past.
