Thanks for this. 50+ years old and never been abroad. But this year , 2019, flying Thomas Cook to Manorca from EMA.. I'm nervous about flying but this has helped me a lot.

Flying is safer today than it has ever been before. I used to be scared too but I just told myself that these guys in the flight deck are highly trained professionals who know what they're doing.
there's something so satisfying about starting up and taxiing to the runway, the soft hum of the engines is really nice!
