    This video led me to an epiphany so I'd like to share.
    I've been looking into starting a business making electronic musical instruments (synthesizers), because that's something I'm extremely passionate and knowledgeable about. Obviously, I knew my target audience is going to be people who are into making electronic music. What I've now I realized, though, is that in reality what I want to make is WAY more specific than that. My products are specifically for experienced sound designers who are interested in analog devices (and ones that feel good to play live) but are unsatisfied with the limitations those devices currently impose. I realized this because that's exactly my situation that inspired me to invent my designs in the first place.

    I've always been thinking of starting an art blog. I think I would get more traffic from a TH-cam and/or TikTok channel but I want a platform specifically for myself with no restrictions or limitations to what I want.
    With that being said, I've always thought of my niche being manga/anime but that seems to be a pretty convoluted subject on it's own n hard to catch up with all trends as a solo creator n what not.
    Therefore, I've been thinking of looking towards a seinen or psychological manga considering it's one of my favorite genres to read in comic format. Then I get worried cuz they're manga series that don't fit that niche that I would really like to talk about as well like Adventure n all.
    Overall, I think I should just suck it up n start with one genre as advised in the video

    My problem is animation for me I see it being profitable later when I can get on a team or afford a team, but I don't have the time to make my animated tales the niche for me now. So in the mean time while I am in school to improve I'm painting and selling paintings, drawing and trying to get eyes on my ideas.

  • @jaye6612
    @jaye6612 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    What would you say to some new who would think of having multiple neiches? For eg: your coloring book appeals to substance painter users and can also appeal to those trying to get into Anime/stylyzed rendering , game desighn or the texturing workflow. Would you say that somone should purpousely go after multi neiching or just focous on one and let the gradual one come naturally? (I'll re iterate the question if u need more explination)

    • @StylizedStation
      @StylizedStation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Always focus on one at first. Once you've dominated that niche and become 'the guy' for that niche, then you can think about expanding.

    for me it's just too hard to stay on 1 type, I like to do arch-viz, env art, props, and everything which makes the likes very fluctuating and it's hard to find work because of this cause the portfolio for 1 type isn't big enough for someone to hire me. maybe by 2022, I will find the field I want to stick to.
