The scene of Songbird begging you to kill her is the first time I ever cried in a video game. The whole DLC is incredible, by far the best story game experience I ever had.

Its the only one ending where he kinda overcomes the FIA and forgives the whole So Mi mess. In every other ending either he is your obstacle to help So Mi or he becomes fully the loyal pet he used to be. Otherwise he wont put the FIA in question and probably still serve them. So Mi is gone either way. If you help her you hand her over to Mr Blue Eyes pretty much an Rogue AI that has fully control of one the greatest Netrunners that can compete with Soulkiller. Pretty much you giving the Nuke from one Organisation to another. If you return her to Myers she probably will be treated worse then she ever was. Bc she is a traitor in their eyes thus they will force her to do Myers bidding. I think this ending is the best where you show Myers the finger and kinda save Reed from becoming an cold hearted bastard. So Mi is dead and no one can abuse her any longer. The best "Happy Ending" that is possible in this case imo. Or you just start PL walk off the gates of Dogtown and just dont get involved :D
Killing or sparring so mi was the hardest choice Ive ever had to make, on one hand she can be one of the few characters to survive night city but she faces a fate worse than death, but if you kill her she's free but it's just another person V fails to save.
i wanted the happy "moon" ending so bad, but it lacks any closure, you help her to the very end, lie after lie, and after the ending she only sends you some trinkets fully knowing that you're dying, was hoping for more messages, or at least something like "doing well, but cant help in any way because now NUSA is hunting me or something", but no, the only thing we get is "go pickup something somewhere" did moon ending first, but after kill ending it felt like it's true happy ending, salvation even
Yeah Killing Moon and saving So Mi gives off the impression of the ideal ending when in reality it's just as muddy as the other routes. A lot of people tend to ignore the dialogue of So Mi literally admitting tp the fact that helping her is going to set off a bunch of turrets in what is essentially a packed bazaar. Ironically the same group tends to argue that Reed is someone who deserves to be put down despite Somewhat Damaged showing that Songbird does indeed have a degree of personal responsibility she refuses to acknowledge. People tend to also ignore the aftermath of killing So Mi leads to Reed doing exactly what they claim he's incapable of doing.
You don't know that black clinic on the Moon is even legit. But I do know the NUSA has the best surgeons and doctors available on the NA continent. That damn black clinic on the Moon could very well be owned and operated by "Space Col.Hansen"!
The cool thing about these endings is that it's realistic; you never get real closure or a happy ending. It's just a matter of choice & each ending has a different shade of gray to them.
I will never forgive this b*tch for killing Alex. Alex was such a good girl, she served the nation, and endured 7 years of hell living in dogtown. And after all that, she still managed to stay positive, and once again she helped Reed and V to save So Mi. Alex is the person who truly deserves a good ending. Rest in peace Alex, you are the best girl in this DLC.

I was Nomad male V and I sent So Mi to the moon. Even tho she betrayed me she came out clean knowing it could be the end of her but I feel it would go against my nomad character sending her to the government space is pure freedom So Mi.
You must be more inclined to help Songbird after you play Somewhat damaged if you got a shred of humanity. When you see what the NUSA did to her and how Reed let it all happen. No way in hell could I side with Reed in further playthroughs after that.
I think as a V you can't be mad at her, even if she betrayed you. She rescued you in the end vs robot and in the ending where you unplug her, she says she is sorry for everything. She just clinged to live and wanted to be out of the system/free. Can you blame someone for that?
Saving one person and killing hundreds ? Who has more humanity ? And that’s not an insult to. You it’s what I love about this game. We each have our own reasons to make our choices. When she said innocents would did I couldnt do it. My V also didn’t like being lied to and she lied just too much. Not a good way for me to care about you
@@ReveredDead This take is a narrow point of view which overlooks the fact that Songbird feels entitled to endanger and sacrifice innocent civilians for her shot at freedom. She deserves to be free, but her take on how to achieve it is selfish and sacrificing civilians doesn't sound like having a 'shred of humanity' to me.
I saved Songbird because she made me upset for not only lying, but made me go through that maniac robotic scene that sucked. Nah you are going to live and answer for all that backstabbing you done.
it was priceless backstabbing her after all the shitty drawn out arena fights, I swear there was at least 5 if not more tedious one at the space terminal, got real old fast, I was expecially raging because at the control tower part she managed to ragdoll die (dropped memory wipe lmao) and I had to replay that awful part again since I couldn't unbug her no matter what
It was Blackwall controlling that Cerberus robot, she did save you sometimes and stopped the robot from killing you several times. I do understand the feeling about being betrayed.
Man that maniac robotic scene almost made me not finish this path. I don't like scary games and to force me to play something like not only i did not like, but it scared the shit out of me. When it was done i felt so relieved and happy i actually finished that path. Wouldn't do it again tho, i'm happy with sending So Mi to space

I had to give her the mercy of death, she pretty much getting the soul killer treatment otherwise, and maybe Reed can keep working in something that doesn't care for him and just uses him but I can't condemn someone to do it against their will
I believe seven years ago, So Mi was ordered to get rid of all agents including Reed, who were comprmised from Arasaka just to avoid another Corpo war. Reed understood it, but he understood the situation when he was ambushed. He is so emotional not to loose So Mi because I can see he cares for her a lot.
"I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for you.' Very possible that its was like you say, and Reed wanted to save So Mi in return, also he promised her he'll alwasys be there if she f's up.
This (the killing So Mi version) was my "canon" ending, if you will. And it is probably my favorite outcome overall. I sided with somi at when we were working on that big metal thing. Betrayed reed. Went to ncx airport. Then when somi betrayed me i turned her in. Got a whole different set of cutscenes.
Yeah same, that blackwall scene was awesome tho, the power we had. I was out of words while playing. The game with the best story on the market. But in the end I didnt want to kill Reed so I gave him Song even though I wanted her to be free.
Yeah, but V is beyond fixed anyway, so all I am thinking is just saving her. Not even Alt can save me, let along some random AI. It is good that she just tell me the truth and let me decide.
@@27455628V can be "fixed" though. V lives if you side with the NUSA, siding with the Aldecaldos also has implications that V lives. Alt can't save V because Mikoshi is a data storage facility, its not a medical research facility. It also takes a long time to undo the nanite damage caused by the Relic overwriting V's biology, hence the 2 year coma. That's something Alt cannot do in the middle of the Mikoshi raid.
I Spared So Mi and combined this ending with the "Dont fear the Reaper" ending to complete my Nomad V playthrough. Although I will go back to a previous save at the tower where i make the important choice, and get the Panam ending as well.
Reed was so pathetic to me. His life was sold yet he kept work for the same person that did it and was willing to bring back So Mi, someone he considered a friend, back to that Hell. Had 0 regrets shootomg him
I wouldn't say "sold". Reed accepted the fact that it was what it took to achieve peace; to make sure noone else was hurt, like the rest of his team who were poisoned, shot in the head, and went MIA. If it wasn't for him, So Mi, Alex, and probably a lot of regular soldiers and civilians would've been killed in the still-ongoing war between Militech and Arasaka Being a man of principle, he's only asking So Mi to do the same. After all, she could've rejected Reed's offer to join FIA, take responsibility for her actions, and accept that Netwatch will hunt down everyone she knows because of her. But no, she ran away It's a good parallel to V. V chose the merc life. Eventually, a job went wrong, his team was killed, and is now dying because of it TL;DR Songbird, Reed, and V are facing consequences for their actions. Reed is asking Songbird to stop running away from her duties
My personal favourite combination of endings is siding with Reed, killing So Mi, choosing the don’t fear the reaper ending, and then giving my body to Johnny. It’s far from happy, but I think it carries the most emotional weight for me.
mines almost opposite on my first playthru i sided with so mi, unintentionally saving alex, then when i found out theres only one cure and that mr blue eyes had a role in this i handed her off to reed, and stormed araska tower with no fear for the reaper and kept the body
When Myer gave me mere 5000 Eddies and flew off after doing all that dirty works for her and saving her ass, that really pissed me off and got me saying “fking politicians” in Johnny’s voice
My "canon" route is siding with Reed and sparing So Mi. FIRST; I've made an oath to Myers, and in my book keeping your word, being reliable, is the most important, even if consequences may be pretty bad in the short/long run. SECOND; we can't get guarantee that clinic on the moon is 100% legit, they can turn Song into lab rat once again and all she knows could end up in wrong hands at best or start another Corporate/World War at worst. THIRD; I believe helping Reed would give him some closure, it's clear as day that what happened 7 years ago still eats and haunts him. He isn't the bad man, just lost... VERY lost. FOURTH; getting on the bad side or straight becoming the enemy of nation with help of nationalized military megacorporation and with just one borderline dividing you two doesn't sounds like good idea. And FIFTH; ambush on MaxTac convoy, the Cynosure Bunker, Blackwall sequence and final meeting with President Myers from gameplay perspective and story-wise feel more suitable, especially if we take into account promotional video of "Phantom Liberty" song (where we can see Songbird connected to the core). Under any other circumstances I'd also honor her death wish, especially knowing too well that denying it equals "Arasaka/Devil ending" for So Mi. But as Johnny said: *_"Here, for folks like us. This is the ending I wanted for my v. My V is that type of person that will do everything she believes is right, avoiding anyone else influence, I must have the final say. Myers was a good companion for the time that we spent together, and Reed is an absolute bro, but I won't handle So Mi back to them. Myers can fuck right off and Reed must understand that there is more than just a successful mission. With this ending my V managed to become the wild card of the situation, still managed to help So Mi, getting Reed out of the bubble that his life was and sending a middle finger to the corporations (rip Alex though). This is my V, a wild card, and this ending is perfect for this dlc.
My first path was with Songbird + giving her to FIA cause I didn't want to get rid of Reed (hehe). Looks like I missed some spooky missions but gonna go back few saves to play them too.
The only good ending for Song is her dying. Any other ending is just going to end badly for her as the AI takes her life and memories. She says as much during the talk in her Brooklyn apartment near the end. If you give her to the NUSA, they'll just let the AI continue to take her and find some way to try and control the AI. If you send her to the moon, more likely the AI will fully take over (Mr. Blueeyes seems to be someone controlled by an AI, so unlikely he's doing this to get rid of another AI).
Wait, so she is taken over when you send her to the moon aswell? Fuck, I thought ending atleast gave her freedom, guess this really is the only ending for her where she ain't being lied to
Although I doubted both Reed and So Mi throughout the beginning of the DLC, by the time I reached the twins mission I had my path focused on Reed. So Mi just kept lying up until the end, and while Reed was withholding info, it still felt like he was being genuine. I saw So Mi as someone that needed help, as patronizing as it may seem, her disregard for the lives of other people, and the dangerous connection to the blackwall, meant that I at least had to try and help/save her. My focus through the missions changed completely from "have to save myself" to "have to help Songbird". Best DLC ever.
Another cool feature about this game is the dystopian outlook of a lot of characters in Night City. A majority of the characters would not be considered morally good (except for Misty) which creates a huge dilemma in making the “right choice.” Although Songbird lied to V, V himself has committed terrible crimes throughout the game. A majority of the endings where V tries to save his own life by any means necessary results in countless unarmed employees in the Arasaka building in being fried by Alt.
what i rly like about cyberpunk is that every possible ending has it pros and cons. there is no farytaile happy ending like we have so often. there is always a price to pay no matter what.
shit made me teared up, I had to save her for my first gameplay but betraying her, hits harder and it feels like you get to know her more via this route
I sent her to the moon and I was happy about it. My V would probably die, but if Arthur Morgan thought me anything is that to save yourself, you must save others. Even when she told me there was one cure, I didn't care. She suffered all her life and was used by everyone. And as my V said, I would have helped her even if she told me there was one cure from the beginning. As she told me that I said to myself I would kill everybody that stand in my way to that shuttle, be it Alex, Reed, the president or all 3. Seeing this ending only solidifies my first choice. My V was like K from BladeRunner 2049, helping others, even at the ultimate price. Plus it's not out of the realm of possibility to assume Mr. Blue eyes can help V, after the end of the game, and I am sure So Mi would do everything in her power to help us back.
I agree. Theres a line she says in response to V asking why she lied "because youre strong V stronger than me. You will find a way" its kinda shitty justification but shes goddamn right. This is V, he doesnt fear the reaper and he is the legend of night city. He will find a way.
"You must save others" by getting dozens/hundreds of civilians killed through So Mi's disregard of human life? "They'll die so we can live." The King of Wand's is not a compassionate ending.
Reed reminds me of takemura just another dog for a bigger organization self-deluded with their own principles to keep lying to themselves, V was right, should've gone corpo l, at least it pays better
DLC's main story's lengh depends whether you choose to betray Reed or Songbird. If you betray Reed, main story become shorter, if you betray Songbird, it be longer.
Man its been so long since a game has sent chills down my spine and has given me eerie emotions This DLC is incredible and anything having to do with the Arasaka tech to the blackwall choices of this game genuinely have creeped me out in a unexpected fashion that I wouldnt have expected

well, i just feel sad about it all, i really expected a nice outcome, but life fact checks all the time. I really wanted a good ending for everyone involved, but again wrong city, wrong people.
So they enslaved the girl, made her do things that practically guaranteed a slow painful death, then successively come up with the surprised pikachu face when she's pissed and fucking shit up to get free. Naa... the correct action is to go behind Reed, help So Mi, and send her off to the Moon, end Reeds miserable self sacrificial life in the process. The man lives to please an narcissistic egomaniac like, put him out of his misery. So Mi is actively losing herself in the blackwall but fighting for her dear life, Reed is just waiting for the next order or death, whichever comes first, he practically admits to this if you kill So Mi. No brainer.
Exactly. I went with Reed on my playthrough and was regretting it by the end. I never thought that after all that happened the dumbass would actually hand over songbird to Myers. Songbird got a one in a million chance and took it. Anyone would do the same. The argument that a lot of people died because of her doesn't make sense either. Even when siding with Reed a lot of people die. And a good number of them die because of the NUSA. But siding with Reed does give you a lot of information regarding what songbird went through. Idk if you still get all that in the other ending as well. Either way I'll be replaying it soon and this time I'm gonna go with songbird.

Amazing DLC. Prob best I have ever played. That robot scared the shit out of me. This is exactly what they should have done with Adam smashes at a point somewhere in the main game. Give him far more weight as unstoppable
I prefer to save So Mi. The NUSA and Reed are the worst. Yes, So Mi lies to V, but she does so out of desperation. She is actually honest with V - eventually. I feel sorry for her. She was manipulated and used by everyone she trusted.
O'Dimm and Olgierd Van Everec weren't on the real moon but i made sure that Songbird got there after all. V didn't get his happy ending but at least i could give it to someone else. I know she lied but so did Reed and i kinda understand why she did it. In my opinion neither Reed nor Songbird were evil. They both made mistakes and both lied but they were not bad. The only bad guys here are Hansen and Myers. Every choice is fine as long as these two don't get what they want. For me it was the moon and i'm okay with it. Loved the DLC ❤
So, in this path, Song never admits that she lied to you. Constantly admonishing you for betraying her when she knew she never planned to save you. She’s evil, just as much as Myers.
nah when confronted about lying she dodges the issue at first but at the very final sequence in her apartment she wants to confess something but at that point she has forgotten about it as her memory degenerates. Also dont forget that for pure evil she actively helps V in cynosore and stops the murderbot from killing him. This is what makes her such a compelling character as she aint black and white. For every bad thing she does to somebody she tries to do something good in counterbalance. She is just very humanely flawed. her sign should have been gemini, not capricorn.
Me again, with the spicy take! I gave her to NUSA. You don't lie and manipulate me and expect to get out of it. If she was honest, I'd have helped. She chose deceit. So the NUSA gets their conduit, I avoid the "cure" and go off with the Nomads with my Canto. Its a sad day when Cyberpunk CIA is the more honest choice.
As someone who will die young, I wouldn’t do anything or walk over others to extend life. This is why I will never side with so mi. She’s willing to kill anyone to survive and she lied to v. She stands for everything I don’t
I did all three and they are all fantastic for different ways. I haven’t let Reed kill So Mi (not sure if that is a real option). But the true ending for me is letting So Mi pass.
I ended up saving So Mi, not so much to save her, but because Blue Eyes is involved with her, and I wanted keep the solo arasaka run as my preferred ending. I figure if I'm getting entangled with them, I'd at least get in their good books first. Seems kinda fitting that V and So Mi both end up escaping night city for space looking for salvation, and given the choice, I'd rather keep Alex alive. It also means V is balancing the board, crippling Militech and Arasaka, hopefully cooling off the next corp war.
Helping SongBird at this very moment was the best choice to make, even if you lose out on a guarantee to survive. Sending her back to Myers is a fate worse than death and I wonder how many people who played this even asked SongBird what would happen to her before deciding to spare her…and if they would still spare her knowing this.
Yeah. Im regretting siding with Reed. Gotta start a new playthrough. Also I just completed the alternate ending to the base game and it's pretty much the worst compared to the ones in the base game. Imo the whole point of the players journey in cyberpunk was to face death rather than be willing to do anything to survive.
I have no regrets choosing her at first and betraying her later. She was playing everyone from the start. Worst character in the game, idk how people sympathize with her.
the game doesnt give an option to do panams ending and then curing v after arasaka invasion lol so stupid 💀 simply end arasaka tower and all the enemies and after kissing panam tell her that reed has cure, she can jnderstand im sure of it (2 years) and then he gets the cure everybody's happy 😊
Somi reminds of syanna from blood and wine a bit. But this time they actually did it well. Her actions even though a bit extreme are justifiable unlike Syanna. In blood and wine i wanted to blow up the whole palace by the time we got to the end. But the bossfight with detlaff was too cool to pass up on.

I maxed out intelligence, just so i can one shot drones and bots in the game, and then i realized my skill is worthless cuz the storyline bot is invincible...i hate it when my hard work and training are not rewarded in a boss fight.
I got all The ending achievement But for me I prefer to Side With Songbird why because is the only ending that makes sense Towards V and Johnny perspectives and how they see another person struggling to find away to live Plus For me No blackwall quickhack or Erebus Is Worth killing her off She did Say That you (the player) are giving her off to a fate worse than death
When do you think it's the best time to do this DLC while playing through the game from the start? Doing it before the last mission seems a bit too late to be able to enjoy the new stuff you can get in the DLC.
I heard that it has minor inpact on other scenes and dialogue if you do it early, can't really say if there's anything significant yet. But as far as I can tell, feel free to do it early. It actually has several points of "go do stuff until I call you again" so it should work nicely if done mid-way through for example
As far as I saw myself, the only references to the story of Phantom Liberty are when talking with Hellman about the relic, V can mention the Blackwall to him. Also you can talk about saving Myers to each love interest (even if not in a romance), but you'll have to finish their personal questlines first. And there are a couple of npcs that will appear at some point during the main quest of PL and only if you did some missions
@@xLetalis I know you can get a unique headpiece from Lizzy Wizzy if you do her mission before meeting her in the DLC. There's a small dialogue saying you saw her if you do her mission afterwards. Also your dialogue changes between you and Johnny when you pick the FIA ending depending if you have high affinity with him or not.
Nope, because it wouldn’t matter since she couldn’t use it anymore, so if you give her up to the FIA, you have the neural matrix and the help of the FIA to save your life.

Hey xLetalis, I totaly love your videos about all different outcomes and details in witcher and cyberpunk, but there is a thing that bothers me here - phantom liberty is not out for really long now, and I didnt had the time to play it yet (started a new playthrough and need to get there first) and I tried to stay away from every information about, didnt even watch the latest trailer. So what bothers me is the thumbnail of this video, because it basically spoils some option that I will somewhen have in PL. I totally understand that it just fits to the video and also to the titel. But the thing is a thumbnail is seen really fast (and so are the gameplay options that are displayed in the thumbnail). Fast enough that I see whats going on while just scrolling through my abo box, even while avoiding the titel. Maybe you can consider this for future videos :)

Killing or sparring so mi was the hardest choice Ive ever had to make, on one hand she can be one of the few characters to survive night city but she faces a fate worse than death, but if you kill her she's free but it's just another person V fails to save.

i wanted the happy "moon" ending so bad, but it lacks any closure, you help her to the very end, lie after lie, and after the ending she only sends you some trinkets fully knowing that you're dying, was hoping for more messages, or at least something like "doing well, but cant help in any way because now NUSA is hunting me or something", but no, the only thing we get is "go pickup something somewhere"

Yeah Killing Moon and saving So Mi gives off the impression of the ideal ending when in reality it's just as muddy as the other routes. A lot of people tend to ignore the dialogue of So Mi literally admitting tp the fact that helping her is going to set off a bunch of turrets in what is essentially a packed bazaar. Ironically the same group tends to argue that Reed is someone who deserves to be put down despite Somewhat Damaged showing that Songbird does indeed have a degree of personal responsibility she refuses to acknowledge. People tend to also ignore the aftermath of killing So Mi leads to Reed doing exactly what they claim he's incapable of doing.
Not to mention the person that “helps” her on the moon is Mr. Blue Eyes
You don't know that black clinic on the Moon is even legit. But I do know the NUSA has the best surgeons and doctors available on the NA continent. That damn black clinic on the Moon could very well be owned and operated by "Space Col.Hansen"!

The cool thing about these endings is that it's realistic; you never get real closure or a happy ending. It's just a matter of choice & each ending has a different shade of gray to them.
Killing So Mi nails the idea of how no one in Night City gets happy ending.

I will never forgive this b*tch for killing Alex. Alex was such a good girl, she served the nation, and endured 7 years of hell living in dogtown. And after all that, she still managed to stay positive, and once again she helped Reed and V to save So Mi. Alex is the person who truly deserves a good ending. Rest in peace Alex, you are the best girl in this DLC.

I was Nomad male V and I sent So Mi to the moon. Even tho she betrayed me she came out clean knowing it could be the end of her but I feel it would go against my nomad character sending her to the government space is pure freedom So Mi.
You must be more inclined to help Songbird after you play Somewhat damaged if you got a shred of humanity. When you see what the NUSA did to her and how Reed let it all happen. No way in hell could I side with Reed in further playthroughs after that.
I think as a V you can't be mad at her, even if she betrayed you. She rescued you in the end vs robot and in the ending where you unplug her, she says she is sorry for everything. She just clinged to live and wanted to be out of the system/free. Can you blame someone for that?

it was priceless backstabbing her after all the shitty drawn out arena fights, I swear there was at least 5 if not more tedious one at the space terminal, got real old fast, I was expecially raging because at the control tower part she managed to ragdoll die (dropped memory wipe lmao) and I had to replay that awful part again since I couldn't unbug her no matter what
It was Blackwall controlling that Cerberus robot, she did save you sometimes and stopped the robot from killing you several times. I do understand the feeling about being betrayed.

I had to give her the mercy of death, she pretty much getting the soul killer treatment otherwise, and maybe Reed can keep working in something that doesn't care for him and just uses him but I can't condemn someone to do it against their will
I believe seven years ago, So Mi was ordered to get rid of all agents including Reed, who were comprmised from Arasaka just to avoid another Corpo war. Reed understood it, but he understood the situation when he was ambushed. He is so emotional not to loose So Mi because I can see he cares for her a lot.
"I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for you.' Very possible that its was like you say, and Reed wanted to save So Mi in return, also he promised her he'll alwasys be there if she f's up.
This (the killing So Mi version) was my "canon" ending, if you will. And it is probably my favorite outcome overall.

It was my canon ending and it was my favourite as well. It just hits so well emotionally.
I sided with somi at when we were working on that big metal thing. Betrayed reed. Went to ncx airport. Then when somi betrayed me i turned her in. Got a whole different set of cutscenes.
Yeah same, that blackwall scene was awesome tho, the power we had. I was out of words while playing. The game with the best story on the market. But in the end I didnt want to kill Reed so I gave him Song even though I wanted her to be free.
Yeah, but V is beyond fixed anyway, so all I am thinking is just saving her. Not even Alt can save me, let along some random AI. It is good that she just tell me the truth and let me decide.

Alt can't save V because Mikoshi is a data storage facility, its not a medical research facility. It also takes a long time to undo the nanite damage caused by the Relic overwriting V's biology, hence the 2 year coma. That's something Alt cannot do in the middle of the Mikoshi raid.

Reed is the most tragic and well written charachter of the dlc and thats why he is my favorite
I Spared So Mi and combined this ending with the "Dont fear the Reaper" ending to complete my Nomad V playthrough. Although I will go back to a previous save at the tower where i make the important choice, and get the Panam ending as well.
Reed was so pathetic to me.
His life was sold yet he kept work for the same person that did it and was willing to bring back So Mi, someone he considered a friend, back to that Hell.

I wouldn't say "sold". Reed accepted the fact that it was what it took to achieve peace; to make sure noone else was hurt, like the rest of his team who were poisoned, shot in the head, and went MIA. If it wasn't for him, So Mi, Alex, and probably a lot of regular soldiers and civilians would've been killed in the still-ongoing war between Militech and Arasaka
Being a man of principle, he's only asking So Mi to do the same. After all, she could've rejected Reed's offer to join FIA, take responsibility for her actions, and accept that Netwatch will hunt down everyone she knows because of her. But no, she ran away
It's a good parallel to V. V chose the merc life. Eventually, a job went wrong, his team was killed, and is now dying because of it

My personal favourite combination of endings is siding with Reed, killing So Mi, choosing the don’t fear the reaper ending, and then giving my body to Johnny. It’s far from happy, but I think it carries the most emotional weight for me.

FIRST; I've made an oath to Myers, and in my book keeping your word, being reliable, is the most important, even if consequences may be pretty bad in the short/long run.
SECOND; we can't get guarantee that clinic on the moon is 100% legit, they can turn Song into lab rat once again and all she knows could end up in wrong hands at best or start another Corporate/World War at worst.
THIRD; I believe helping Reed would give him some closure, it's clear as day that what happened 7 years ago still eats and haunts him. He isn't the bad man, just lost... VERY lost.
FOURTH; getting on the bad side or straight becoming the enemy of nation with help of nationalized military megacorporation and with just one borderline dividing you two doesn't sounds like good idea.
And FIFTH; ambush on MaxTac convoy, the Cynosure Bunker, Blackwall sequence and final meeting with President Myers from gameplay perspective and story-wise feel more suitable, especially if we take into account promotional video of "Phantom Liberty" song (where we can see Songbird connected to the core).
Under any other circumstances I'd also honor her death wish, especially knowing too well that denying it equals "Arasaka/Devil ending" for So Mi. But as Johnny said:

This is the ending I wanted for my v. My V is that type of person that will do everything she believes is right, avoiding anyone else influence, I must have the final say. Myers was a good companion for the time that we spent together, and Reed is an absolute bro, but I won't handle So Mi back to them. Myers can fuck right off and Reed must understand that there is more than just a successful mission. With this ending my V managed to become the wild card of the situation, still managed to help So Mi, getting Reed out of the bubble that his life was and sending a middle finger to the corporations (rip Alex though). This is my V, a wild card, and this ending is perfect for this dlc.

My first path was with Songbird + giving her to FIA cause I didn't want to get rid of Reed (hehe). Looks like I missed some spooky missions but gonna go back few saves to play them too.

The only good ending for Song is her dying. Any other ending is just going to end badly for her as the AI takes her life and memories. She says as much during the talk in her Brooklyn apartment near the end. If you give her to the NUSA, they'll just let the AI continue to take her and find some way to try and control the AI. If you send her to the moon, more likely the AI will fully take over (Mr. Blueeyes seems to be someone controlled by an AI, so unlikely he's doing this to get rid of another AI).

Although I doubted both Reed and So Mi throughout the beginning of the DLC, by the time I reached the twins mission I had my path focused on Reed. So Mi just kept lying up until the end, and while Reed was withholding info, it still felt like he was being genuine. I saw So Mi as someone that needed help, as patronizing as it may seem, her disregard for the lives of other people, and the dangerous connection to the blackwall, meant that I at least had to try and help/save her. My focus through the missions changed completely from "have to save myself" to "have to help Songbird". Best DLC ever.
I really like how you can notice Reed is trying to convince himself that giving So Mi to Myers was a good decsion in the final basketball dialogue.
When I killed her and then saw V start to cry, that was heart-wrenching.

Another cool feature about this game is the dystopian outlook of a lot of characters in Night City. A majority of the characters would not be considered morally good (except for Misty) which creates a huge dilemma in making the “right choice.” Although Songbird lied to V, V himself has committed terrible crimes throughout the game. A majority of the endings where V tries to save his own life by any means necessary results in countless unarmed employees in the Arasaka building in being fried by Alt.

what i rly like about cyberpunk is that every possible ending has it pros and cons. there is no farytaile happy ending like we have so often. there is always a price to pay no matter what.

shit made me teared up, I had to save her for my first gameplay but betraying her, hits harder and it feels like you get to know her more via this route
I sent her to the moon and I was happy about it. My V would probably die, but if Arthur Morgan thought me anything is that to save yourself, you must save others. Even when she told me there was one cure, I didn't care. She suffered all her life and was used by everyone. And as my V said, I would have helped her even if she told me there was one cure from the beginning. As she told me that I said to myself I would kill everybody that stand in my way to that shuttle, be it Alex, Reed, the president or all 3. Seeing this ending only solidifies my first choice. My V was like K from BladeRunner 2049, helping others, even at the ultimate price.
Plus it's not out of the realm of possibility to assume Mr. Blue eyes can help V, after the end of the game, and I am sure So Mi would do everything in her power to help us back.

DLC's main story's lengh depends whether you choose to betray Reed or Songbird. If you betray Reed, main story become shorter, if you betray Songbird, it be longer.

I really wanted a good ending for everyone involved, but again wrong city, wrong people.
So they enslaved the girl, made her do things that practically guaranteed a slow painful death, then successively come up with the surprised pikachu face when she's pissed and fucking shit up to get free.
Naa... the correct action is to go behind Reed, help So Mi, and send her off to the Moon, end Reeds miserable self sacrificial life in the process. The man lives to please an narcissistic egomaniac like, put him out of his misery. So Mi is actively losing herself in the blackwall but fighting for her dear life, Reed is just waiting for the next order or death, whichever comes first, he practically admits to this if you kill So Mi.

The argument that a lot of people died because of her doesn't make sense either. Even when siding with Reed a lot of people die. And a good number of them die because of the NUSA.
But siding with Reed does give you a lot of information regarding what songbird went through. Idk if you still get all that in the other ending as well. Either way I'll be replaying it soon and this time I'm gonna go with songbird.

Amazing DLC. Prob best I have ever played. That robot scared the shit out of me. This is exactly what they should have done with Adam smashes at a point somewhere in the main game. Give him far more weight as unstoppable
I prefer to save So Mi. The NUSA and Reed are the worst. Yes, So Mi lies to V, but she does so out of desperation. She is actually honest with V - eventually. I feel sorry for her. She was manipulated and used by everyone she trusted.
O'Dimm and Olgierd Van Everec weren't on the real moon but i made sure that Songbird got there after all. V didn't get his happy ending but at least i could give it to someone else. I know she lied but so did Reed and i kinda understand why she did it. In my opinion neither Reed nor Songbird were evil. They both made mistakes and both lied but they were not bad. The only bad guys here are Hansen and Myers. Every choice is fine as long as these two don't get what they want. For me it was the moon and i'm okay with it. Loved the DLC ❤
So, in this path, Song never admits that she lied to you. Constantly admonishing you for betraying her when she knew she never planned to save you. She’s evil, just as much as Myers.
To be fair i think this is the blackwall mostly controlling her.
nah when confronted about lying she dodges the issue at first but at the very final sequence in her apartment she wants to confess something but at that point she has forgotten about it as her memory degenerates. Also dont forget that for pure evil she actively helps V in cynosore and stops the murderbot from killing him. This is what makes her such a compelling character as she aint black and white. For every bad thing she does to somebody she tries to do something good in counterbalance. She is just very humanely flawed. her sign should have been gemini, not capricorn.

I gave her to NUSA. You don't lie and manipulate me and expect to get out of it. If she was honest, I'd have helped. She chose deceit. So the NUSA gets their conduit, I avoid the "cure" and go off with the Nomads with my Canto. Its a sad day when Cyberpunk CIA is the more honest choice.

I did all three and they are all fantastic for different ways. I haven’t let Reed kill So Mi (not sure if that is a real option). But the true ending for me is letting So Mi pass.
I am no Morgan Blackhand, it's true. I run circles around him while dunking on Smasher and MaxTac put together. I am the cyberzeitgeist.
I ended up saving So Mi, not so much to save her, but because Blue Eyes is involved with her, and I wanted keep the solo arasaka run as my preferred ending. I figure if I'm getting entangled with them, I'd at least get in their good books first. Seems kinda fitting that V and So Mi both end up escaping night city for space looking for salvation, and given the choice, I'd rather keep Alex alive. It also means V is balancing the board, crippling Militech and Arasaka, hopefully cooling off the next corp war.
Helping SongBird at this very moment was the best choice to make, even if you lose out on a guarantee to survive.
Sending her back to Myers is a fate worse than death and I wonder how many people who played this even asked SongBird what would happen to her before deciding to spare her…and if they would still spare her knowing this.
Yeah. Im regretting siding with Reed. Gotta start a new playthrough. Also I just completed the alternate ending to the base game and it's pretty much the worst compared to the ones in the base game. Imo the whole point of the players journey in cyberpunk was to face death rather than be willing to do anything to survive.
I have no regrets choosing her at first and betraying her later. She was playing everyone from the start. Worst character in the game, idk how people sympathize with her.
the game doesnt give an option to do panams ending and then curing v after arasaka invasion lol so stupid 💀 simply end arasaka tower and all the enemies and after kissing panam tell her that reed has cure, she can jnderstand im sure of it (2 years) and then he gets the cure everybody's happy 😊
Somi reminds of syanna from blood and wine a bit. But this time they actually did it well. Her actions even though a bit extreme are justifiable unlike Syanna. In blood and wine i wanted to blow up the whole palace by the time we got to the end. But the bossfight with detlaff was too cool to pass up on.

When do you think it's the best time to do this DLC while playing through the game from the start? Doing it before the last mission seems a bit too late to be able to enjoy the new stuff you can get in the DLC.
I heard that it has minor inpact on other scenes and dialogue if you do it early, can't really say if there's anything significant yet. But as far as I can tell, feel free to do it early. It actually has several points of "go do stuff until I call you again" so it should work nicely if done mid-way through for example
As far as I saw myself, the only references to the story of Phantom Liberty are when talking with Hellman about the relic, V can mention the Blackwall to him.
Also you can talk about saving Myers to each love interest (even if not in a romance), but you'll have to finish their personal questlines first.
And there are a couple of npcs that will appear at some point during the main quest of PL and only if you did some missions
@@xLetalis I know you can get a unique headpiece from Lizzy Wizzy if you do her mission before meeting her in the DLC. There's a small dialogue saying you saw her if you do her mission afterwards. Also your dialogue changes between you and Johnny when you pick the FIA ending depending if you have high affinity with him or not.

Hey xLetalis, I totaly love your videos about all different outcomes and details in witcher and cyberpunk, but there is a thing that bothers me here - phantom liberty is not out for really long now, and I didnt had the time to play it yet (started a new playthrough and need to get there first) and I tried to stay away from every information about, didnt even watch the latest trailer.
So what bothers me is the thumbnail of this video, because it basically spoils some option that I will somewhen have in PL. I totally understand that it just fits to the video and also to the titel. But the thing is a thumbnail is seen really fast (and so are the gameplay options that are displayed in the thumbnail). Fast enough that I see whats going on while just scrolling through my abo box, even while avoiding the titel. Maybe you can consider this for future videos :)

Yup. Killing Moon is the best ending, these endings suck (emotionally, as is god damn this shit is so sad).
