    My solution is better: have a savings account, withdraw whatever amount, and pay it back with interest like you would a real loan.

      Yup thats what I do, my payment schedule is per paycheck, for a predetermined amount of paychecks, with 10% interest. For example; borrow 500, pay back 550(110 for 5 paychecks). Actually works, nothing else ever worked for me

      I invest half my savings in the s&p 500 and keep the other half available. I stole some ideas from 401k loans when I saw my girlfriend take one out. One personal loan and one emergency loan at a time, no more. Can only borrow up to half the savings account at a time. Loan repayments are kept in a separate bank vault until the loan is paid up then transferred into the lendable savings account.

      Also 10% of income goes into savings no matter what. Plus payments on top of that.
