    I had traveled from Chennai Central STN to Bhopal on 22 February 1981 . The train departed MGR at 8:00 Hrs and reached Bhopal at 3:20 Hrs covering nearly 1500 Kms in 19 hrs 20 min with stoppages at Vijayawada, Balharshah( technical) , Nagpur , itarsi ( technical) only.
    It comprised of 26 coaches namely from Alphabet: A - Z including Pantry Car .

    आज भी खुद को प्रमाणित कर सकती है ये ट्रेन क्योंकि इसके इतिहास को 1995 तक महसूस करा है तब प्राथमिकता का उच्च था क्योंकि ट्रैफिक कम था और प्राथमिकता ज्यादा और अपने स्टॉपेज स्टेशन से 10 स्टेशन आगे चलने वाली सभी ट्रेन चाहे एक्स्प्रेस , मेल या मालगाड़ी सबको लूप लाइन पर रोककर इस सुपर फास्ट को निकाला जाता था

      That is correct. He performed some 12 operations in the publich health center ( PHC ) of a nearby hospital with the help of a hippie group that assisited him !

    I had travelled 2 times in Tamil Nadu express from Agra to Chennai, after rajdhani this train is fast, agra to Chennai 2000km distance covered only in 30hours, with 8 halts, my favourite train for Chennai

    Very sad incident due to that era technology but nowadays I guess it would even cross 150kmph top speed if given permission by I.R.I liked traveling in it while on my tour to MGR Chennai central the journey was superb a good facility in the train was provided.

    I was there on spot for relief assistance, for your kind information 40 person died as per Hindu paper but it was more then 200, very hectic situation, poorly handled by Police and near by public, snatched jewellery and bagages from dead body, very sad that I was there 😘😘😘

    in 1980-81 the railways had a huge backlog of track renewals and during that period, there were a spate of derailments , the worst probably being the accident of a train on the Baghmati river bridge where nearly 800 passengers lost their lives. After that the railways had reduced the maximum speeds of trains until the situation improved. I have personally seen the WDM2 hauling the Mumbai Rajdhani having a caution board inside the locomotive stating "max speed 110 kmph" back then. Tamilnadu express was never run at 120 kmph as stated in the video. The max speed was always 110 kmph and one needs to remember that for 120 kmph operation on the Mumbai Rajdhani , re-geared WDM2s from the Ratlam shed were used and so I doubt that a normal WDM2 would even reach that speed. The official inquiry into the accident states that the cause of the accident was "overspeeding" with the train estimated to be running at 128 kmph at the time of derailment ! This smacks of a big coverup since it is highly dubious if those WDM2s could even hit those speeds. It is most likely that poor condition of the tracks caused the derailment. Railway minister during those days was C K Jaffer Sharief .

      Full speed mein ye kaam ho raha hai.. Almost 15k LHB coaches are functioning in various trains and per year we are producing 8200-8400 LHB coaches per annum, ICF production being totally stopped..

    Actually speed ka fault nahi thha train ka. Balki track maintenance and coach maintenance ka hai. Us waqt achhe technology ni thhi jisse train itni doori ko continuously 120 ki speed se travel karte rahe aur uske saath iski maintenance ki ja sake. That's it.
