    I asked the question to him. I thank him greatly for his answer. Scrupulously and OCD is a struggle. But with God on my side who can be against me. That’s key but so hard to remember and believe.

Find ways to rest in his peace. You don't have to be perfect. God never expects perfection. Ask God to teach you how to use this for his glory. DONOT condemn yourself.

    For those who have Scrupulosity with going to Confession - feeling the need to confess silly or unnecessary things. I have scrupulosity, which can, through fear, rise up especially in the confessional line, accusing me of something absurd which seems even more absurd to "have" to tell Father. One time this happened and through God's grace I realized if I told Father this, that would be a LIE, because I know it was not a sin that I consented to, it was just a thought or temptation. I only felt the need to tell Father to ease my fear and to rid myself of the anxiety.
    (Of course there are times when it is good to talk to Father about fears, but I am exhorting the seasoned scrupulous Penitent.)
    Those of us who may struggle with scrupulosity know what's real and what's not, we only feel the need to confess the crazy stuff out of fear, but don't do it, it would be a LIE, you know what the scruple convicts you of is not really you, thank you Holy Spirit!

      @N So sorry, man. I now struggle with staring. When I look at a person, I feel something, I feel the urge to look again and 'confirm' that it was not a sin, but the sensation is there, and although I think it's not a sin, the anxiety/fear makes me mad. Sometimes I wake up and in a few hours, I'm already exhausted. I don't know how I can work/study with this. It's so overwhelming. Sometimes, I wish I was dead, so it all could stop.

    If an individual has Scrupulosity. Think for a moment, that having this infliction, God is giving you a blessing for the purpose of attaining holiness, through penance. Thinking of one Saint. Saint Gemma Galgani, for example. How she was tortured by the Devil, most of her life. I do believe Gemma had a form of Scrupulosity. Yet that torture was a blessing to her by God, for her attaining holiness and heaven. God gives us trials to live through. I know, let your purgatory be on earth. A Must, pray the Rosary Daily 🙏

    I think one of the main reasons that scrupulosity is so prevalent among those trying to follow Christ is because the gravity of some sins can sometimes be very difficult to measure. Sometimes it’s very obvious and other times not so much. Your heart may tell you one thing and then may tell you something else.

    Thank you Father. This was very useful. I suffer with bouts of this, coming and going like a wave raising it's ugly head in my life. I think it is more of a mind issue than a spiritual one. I'm going to try what you say, focusing on God and His burning love for me. I find when I'm involved in doing things for others, visiting the sick, helping at Church I don't feel so bad about myself. I actually feel Jesus's love for others working through me. I know deep down that I am His beloved daughter. It is a struggle but Saints have gone through this.

    It is so hard to think of God in a good way since converting to catholicism. Just the statement you said at the beginning that you deserve hell.....like you deserve everlasting torment for just being born, or for doing things that society clearly doesn't lock you up for but a loving God will do just that FOREVER! Sounds insane and I am losing my mind over this!!!!!!

    • @amask99
      @amask99 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, framed like that, it doesn't sound very charitable. I sometimes think about it and we should ALWAYS remember- God gave us this life so we can share in everlasting happiness with Him, which is infinetely better than nonexistence. Of course, we can choose otherwise and turn away, but He always waits in His Mercy. He created humanity knownig that He was going to redeem us, not to torture us. Yes, mortal sins have infinite consequences and must not be taken lightly. It is because of God's nature. Not every sin is mortal, 3 conditions have to be met- grave matter, full knowledge and full consent. In confession, it's better to confess those you're not sure about. But even after destoying our relationship with God by commiting a grave sin we can confess and be forgiven. There are still temporary punishments in Purgatory, but for those we csn gain indulgences. God gives us enough grace to win with every temptation, it's our choice that we often don't. Then, God gives us enough grace to pray and come back

    I know Jesus loves me but I am miserable all the time and depressed bcse my brothers and Parents did not know Jesus and blasphemed His name and I do not want them to be in Hell. They were not evil. They just did not know their Faith. Despite knowing that God is merciful in our ignorance and does not judge unjustly I STILL can't be happy that they will achieve eternal happiness.

    • @amask99

      Well, God made it so that we usually don't know for sure if someone will be damned, we can amd have to do many things- evangelize, try to explain the Faith, pray, offer fasts and sacrifices for their conversions

    • @sofiariquelme8392
      @sofiariquelme8392 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      well, don't feel presured, but most likely God put it in your hands to do things, with peace, not scruples, to convert them. Ultimately, is His work, but you have instrumental capabilities : you can talk to them about how catholicism is true and they have to take it seriously, explain them about how wrong is blasphemy, pray for them, offer your daily sufferings for them and even voluntarily do penance for their convertion. If u have scrupulosity, I do advice u to talk to a priest so he can guide you with peace in this task God gave you.

      The best thing you can do for them, even if they have passed - and I am sorry for your loss - is to offer masses for them and pray for God to have mercy for them. Saint Padre Pio used to pray for his family who had already died.
