    I want to be the first to comment and say that after watching the video (after it had published to TH-cam), I have noticed some mohawking off to the left side of the deck. I went out and physically confirmed that it did slightly miss some grass on the left side of the deck. It was in the thicker grass. You can see this at the :56 second mark. I don't recall the performance blade doing this. There will have to be some further testing of the blades, especially the performance blade, to see if it will have similar issues as the high-lift blade apparently has with thicker grass.

      It would be great to know if the performance blade does not have mohawking. I have an Ego 2156 xp and the mohawking is horrible!!

      @@troycadotte I have run the performance and economy blade multiple times, each, and have never had a single issue with the cut. I want to test the high-lift blade again. Although it was only a small section of a couple rows of cutting, I want to be sure the performance blade wouldn't replicate this in the same area. I've been cutting the grass since early May and this is the first I've seen any mohawking and also the first time I've tried the high-lift blade.

      @@jkprojectsnstuff697 Great, thanks for the feedback and for making the video. From everything I have seen this is a much better mower than the Ego.

    Yes, the Honda gas mower (and most gas mowers for that matter) are going to outperform this battery mower without a doubt. I have the Toro 60V recycler and it will mohawk the grass if it gets even a little too tall. The high lift blade really is meant for bagging and side (or rear) discharging so that the air flow has somewhere to escape and create even more vacuum, and yes I need 2 batteries (6Ah & 7.5Ah) to get through my thick 5200 sq. ft. lawn. When your grass is moist or lush like in the spring or during wet times that high lift blade may end up packing grass up under your deck if you try to mulch with it. It happens with many mowers. You will have to see. I usually go with a lower lift blade during those times. Your high lift blade will really shine in the fall if you are bagging leaves and lawn debris, although you can expect a bit of blowout from under the deck. This is typical. I think battery mowers are best for: 1) people with very small yards. 2) people with thin to normal grass (not thick & regularly fertilized and not irrigated) 3) people who are not very picky about the cut quality. 4) people who are incapable of doing the minor maintenance that gas engines require. I own 2 of them (highly rated ones) and find them both lacking in performance, but I'm kind of a lawn nut!

      I had a Honda before the Toro 60V Super Recycler. The Toro is a much better mower, hands down. I irrigate a few times a week and I'm very particular about my lawn. I wouldn't go back to mowing with a Honda. Just my opinion after having both.

    they are coming out with a totally redesigned 60v super recycler for 2022, good thing I was not able to find one to buy this year.

      I saw that through social media, but haven't been able to confirm it through Toro's website. The picture of it looked pretty cool!

      Toro just posted the 2022 version on the website.

      @@jkprojectsnstuff697 It's called model 21568, with a 2-in-1 cast aluminum deck.

    Isn't the purpose of a high lift blade supposed to be for bagging?

    • @jkprojectsnstuff697
      @jkprojectsnstuff697  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I believe it's a bagging blade. I like the blade for mulching, also. It creates more suction and picks up debris very well.

    I don't know if I missed it but how was the battery life adding the high lift blade? Was it a major drop? Thanks

      The high lift blade will definitely cut down on battery life. I wouldn't say that the blade alone will cut the time in half, but possibly cut a quarter of the time off. The high lift blade creates much more drag compared to the economy blade.

    Anyone know why this mower is listed at weighing 15 lbs more than the metal model 60v ? This one is supposed to be aluminum , and the other steel.

    • @mellowjammer
      @mellowjammer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My steel deck 60V Recycler is 95 lbs. and the aluminum Super Recycler is listed at 100 lbs. on Toro's website for a 5 lb. difference. Probably because the aluminum is much thicker than the very thin steel in the stamped deck and there are other slightly heavier duty parts on the Super Recycler such as ball bearing front wheels as opposed to the pure plastic (no bearing) wheels on regular Recycler.

      @@mellowjammer I ended up with buying the reg recycler 60v for 330 was an open box. but it works great. Will say much heaver than my old ego but the self prop. system is the cats meow for my big lawn.

    Thinking about buying one of these. How does the side discharge perform?

    • @jkprojectsnstuff697
      @jkprojectsnstuff697  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest, I've never used side discharge with the 60V Super Recycler. The grass is cut very fine, so I'm thinking it would do very well. Give me a week or two, and I'll have a video out mowing with side discharge. Thanks for the comment and video idea!

      I have used this unit for one season now, and I used the gas version of the same deck for 15+ years. IMHO it performs best as a side discharge. My grass area is about 12000 square feet and running it on high I can just finish on the battery. My lawn is not flat so I have a fair amount of maneuvering and side slope work. If you had a flat easy lawn mow I suspect you could get 15k-20k square feet out of it.
