Never thought of it that way! You’re so right. I like watching these 360 black hole vids with my actual VR headset on, and while terrifying, even coming close to “witnessing” one (as close as I’ll ever get in my lifetime), it’s still such a beautiful sight to behold. I can’t even imagine what it would be like in reality. I think I’d cry tears of happiness just being able to witness something so grand… right before being horribly mangled lmao

The understanding of what is going on (and lack thereof) is what makes it amazing. The accretion discs that are spinning around the black hole are moving at nearly the speed of light. We're passing through the discs here but in reality we'd be torn to shreds by the absolute insane conditions that exist. You're seeing massive objects move at incomprehensible speeds. Imagine our Sun charging at us at almost the speed of light and then the Sun HIT you. There is no human comprehension of a world at this scale or violence. We're also missing elements like the fact that time completely stops at the event horizon and we have no idea what would happen if you were to look out. Would you see the entire Universe at every instance of time, or in other words, would you see everything that ever was happen at every time? Humans who aren't mindblown by the Universe are too petrified of their own egos to admit to themselves how infinitesimal mankind is.

You can see if you’re in a black hole and you wouldn’t even realize if you passed the event horizon if you were to even survive entry. You’d even see some really trippy stuff that other people outside the black hole wouldn’t see due to virtual particle fields behaving constructively/destructively.

This is almost what you would (theoretically) see. In reality as you fell closer to the event horizon time for you would slow down while time for the rest of the universe would speed up (from your perspective). The more you fall into the black hole the faster the universe would go around you, and if you weren’t ripped apart too fast you’d get to witness the end of the universe before getting sphagettified
also the light would be reversed around you due to the bend of it so you would be looking back by looking forward

What would happen or what would you see if the black hole evaporated before you "finished" falling into the singularity? After all, one of the universe's suspected fates known as heat death is when even the black holes have all evaporated and the universe is just a homogenous void of zero entropy, isn't it? Well good news is you have about 15 seconds before the damage becomes irreversible and about 30 seconds before you begin to black out. At 90 seconds you will be dead. So you've got a painful, 15 second window to clean that helmet and get it back on.
