I am partial to Side 2 of Rod Stewart's "Foot Loose & Fancy Free". His most heart wrenching performances, ending with the very depressing song, "I Was Only Joking".
I see AC/DC at Hammersmith in '78 and after it my ears were ringing very uncomfortably for a couple of days and nearly a week before the noise had completely subsided. I still have the ticket £2.50
1. Side two of "Closer" Joy Division; 2. Side two of "This is the Modern World" The Jam; 3. Side two of "Into the Music" Van Morrison; 4. Side two of "Tattoo You" The Rolling Stone; 5. Side two "The Wild the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle" Bruce Springsteen; 6. Side one "Blood on the Tracks" Bob Dylan; 7. Side one of "Highway 61" Bob Dylan; 8. Side one of "A Pagan Place" The Waterboys; 9. Side one of "My Aim is True" Elvis Costello; 10. Side two of "Too Rye Aye" Dexys Midnight Runners
Losing your voice in a tribute band concert is not something I am normally accustomed to hearing from concert goers. People usually save their voices for the real thing.
Really enjoyed this one - thoughtful well considered choices. I was surprised Band on the Run side 1or 2 did not make the cut. Also Side 1 The Band - self titled. Talk Talk side 1 The colour of Spring. I would recommend Aime Mann’s Album Whatever - it would make my top 10
Excellent selection, John. One of my favourite sides is side 3 of Physical Graffiti: In the Light, Bron-Yr-Aur, Down by the Seaside and Ten Years Gone. Mellow Zep, and great
Hi John, would you ever consider reviewing Aladdin Sane by Bowie at some point in the near future if possible? I've been curious about your thoughts on that album for a while.
When I grew-up in the mid-to-late 1970’s, music consumption was a foreground ritual and an all-encompassing focus-from the album liner notes, artwork, and music-with friends, siblings, and cousins; there is very little of a communal nature as satisfying and continuously-compellingly in memory throughout my life!..
Hi John, thanks for doing a response. I'm delighted that we matched on ELO and I had an idea you would have picked Arrival as I remember you giving side 1 an excellent review on one of your videos.
Side 2 of "Parallel Lines" has my favorite Blondie song "11:59". Ok: 1. Side one: Badfinger "N̈o Dice". 2. Side two: Bringing It All Back Home: Bob Dylan 3. Side two: Highway 61; Bob Dylan 4.Side One: Let it Bleed; Rolling Stones 5. Side two; Some Girls; Rolling Stones 6. Side two; The Beach Boys Today 7. Side one: The Who Sing My Generation 8. Side 3; London Calling; The Clash 9. Side 1 ; Sound Affects; The Jam 10. Side one; Wildflowers; Tom Petty The Beatles, as always, were a cut above in that the sides of their records were consistent to such a point where I can not favor one side over the other. Peace and Love, Terry and Julia Tutor
Hahahaha 😂losing your voice at a Tribute Band Show!! Sorry but that is just a sad situation. Personally i would ban all tribute bands and just listen to the original artists….
Gotta agree with your top choice there John - it's just epic.

Great list. Many I would include, but two that would have to be there for me are U2 - The Joshua Tree, side A and The Police - Synchronicity, side B.

There aren't many real things left.

Good stuff John. Funnily enough I went with the UK side 1 of Powerage. I also struggled to find side 2s at least compared to side 1s.

"Roy Rogers", you can "see" it play out as you listen. My #1, Been loving this LP for 51 years. Best, D.
Side 1 of the first Roxy Music album is all brilliant songs and Side 2 of Pink Floyd's Meddle
Steve Windwoods Arc Of A Diver side one is perfect in my opinion!! Nice list. Keep up the good work.
ELO fabulous choice 👏
I like dead flowers on sticky fingers.
