Los Al is gonna be cannon fodder for MD next week, they don't stand a chance, of course i wouldn't mind if Los Al managed to pull off a huge upset, but i highly doubt that will happen. It reminds me, the last time Los Al and MD played against each other in football was for the CIF D-1 title game 20 years ago at Angel Stadium. Los Al clobbered MD by the score 41-14, and TH-cam didn't exist yet at the time, social media was still in its infancy, wasn't around so much yet. No doubt there will be a similar score like that in which MD likely wins by 27 or more points.
If MD gave all their talent back to these kids respective schools they’d be the regular MD we’ve always known, a really good, disciplined and well coached team. The MD we see today is an overload of talent. 3-5 ⭐️ commits across the roster, it’s simply nothing the public schools can do. Mark my words, The mission league is going to get stronger, I feel like SC will eventually pull in big time talent and move up to D1.
Los Al won't be embarrassed. I just think they are a notch below MD, Bosco, Mission Viejo and Centennial. Los Al might be a .500 program in Trinity League.

@@steveh.6168 one thing i remember about that game, is that Los Al had this superstar safety at the time, he was a transfer from LB Poly, Randy Estes. He was one of the most sought after, top ranked recruited safeties in the nation at the time, many thought he was the best safety to come out of CA since Ronnie Lott, but he never played college football due to off the field issues.
2002 was his junior year, the following year, his senior season, he got busted for trying to sell weed, marijuana, a few blocks away from Los Al's campus.

I was at the game last night and all I saw was bad coaching for Long Beach poly I feel bad for the kids because the coach lost that game for him. He started the game with some short kickoffs and gave the number one quarterback and receiver excellent field position like three times to score easy, too many penalties, he did no defense adjustments to stop number for the running back when we have great linebackers, going for it on 4th down versus getting a field goal still puzzles me, and a lack of a sorry game plan really put our team in bad situations Poly has all the talent in the world, until we get a good coach that can make good decisions we're going to be mediocre

I’m actually going to have to defend the kickoffs because I don’t think there’s a single person that’s better at returning kicks than Lemon. Giving their offense good field position is a much better choice than kicking the ball to him will ever be

The coach is the reason we were even playing in division 1. Yea there were some questionable calls and we needed to make some changes on our defense, but the fact is that We dropped 1 touchdown and if we don’t have a kicker who can’t kick a field goal you have to go for it on 4th down. They do the pooch kicks because the kicker can’t kick a touchback and they don’t want los al to return a kick like they did.

It's only 1 half but seats 12,000 had at least that at midway through 1st quarter. It's big on one side. They expanded it for this game brought in an extra 1500 seats. So that would be 13500. Attendance for this game was 12235 at the end of the third quarter

The coaches lost this game. Giving Los Alimitos 21 points on short kickoffs on purpose. I was like this is dumb. Why not kick it long and take your chances. Not give them a super short field 3 times in a row.
Then when they started kicking long Los Alamitos did not run it back. Also Long Beaches Linebackers never adjusted to the run.

Yes mater dei will stop him, modern day coaches are elite they'll make adjustments and their linebackers are phenomenal, discipline and great coaching wins games something that our coach needs to learn at Poly, our kids didn't lose that game last night it was just terrible coaching

The Poly Coaches lost this game. Short kickoffs 3 times. The kicks were on purpose. I understand you are afraid of a kickoff returner but giving Los Alamitos a short field 3 times wtf. Then when you finally start kicking long no run backs. Never making adjustments to stop the run.

Also, the Defense is better with the player that could not play for 6 games because he was ineligible. Also Los Alimitos got back their star offensive lineman who was out for 4 games in the beginning of the season.

They are a public school playing in CIF playoffs. Technically their players have to live within the school’s boundaries. If any player is found ineligible they will forfeit all the games that player played.
It is likely the vast majority of their players live near Los Al.
